Chapter 382
I ran as fast as I could, not slowing down until I was certain Henry couldn between myself and that hospital room.
Just as the door closed behind me, Henry managed to sit up in his bed.
see me anymore, I needed to keep as much distance as possible
“Underestimated her, Henry muttered to himself with a rueful smile, staring at the closed door.
The Harding family had sponsored Violet’s medical education abroad years ago, and they’d maintained a friendly relationship ever since. With William’s condition deteriorating and his episodes lasting longer than before, Henry had asked Violet to examine his grandfather.
Most of the time, the elderly man remained unconscious, his health declining daily. In an effort to help his grandfather recover, Henry had invited Violet to oversee William’s treatment.
Ironically, he himself had ended up hospitalized with a heart attack.
The mere thought of Sam made Henry’s blood boil.
That dead soldier. This was the reason for his cardiac episode, and he couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.
Sophia Wilson–that woman needed to be taught a lesson.
He would make sure she understood this.
As Henry contemplated various ways to deal with me, the door to his room/swung open. Violet entered, maintaining her perfect professional demeanor as always.
“Mr. Harding, how are you feeling these past couple of days? Any improvement?” she asked.
Henry immediately straightened his posture and offered her a polite smile. “Much better, thank you for your concern.”
“Is there any change in my grandfather’s condition?” he asked, his brow furrowing slightly. Violet wouldn’t have come personally unless something significant had happened.
She quickly shook her head. “No. Your grandfather’s condition remains stable. I’m still researching the most appropriate surgical approach for
his case.”
“Actually, I came to introduce my assistant to you,” she continued. “She’s quite young and hasn’t had much experience dealing with patients of your… caliber. I hope you’ll be patient with her.”
Henry raised an eyebrow. “I thought Sophia was your only assistant?”
“Sophia is my special aide, not my assistant,” Violet, clarified. “This young woman is my actual assistant.”
She smiled knowingly. “I wouldn’t dare have your beloved working as a mere assistant. That would be a terrible waste of her talents.
“Nadia, you can come in now!” Violet called toward the door.
A moment later, the door opened again, and a young woman stepped into the room. Despite her nurse’s uniform, her appearance was striking- her skirt revealed a pair of slender, perfectly shaped legs. As she walked, the hem of her uniform lifted slightly, revealing a black pencil skirt underneath and flesh–colored stockings.
The stockings‘ sheen accentuated her sljin, perfect legs in a way that was hard to ignore.
The young woman wore a surgical mask covering the lower half of her face, but her clear forehead and bright eyes were visible. Henry had a

persistent feeling that he’d seen those eyes before. When her gaze met his, her eyes seemed to light up.
“Hello, Dr. Perez. Hello, Mr. Harding,” she greeted them both with a slight bow.
“My name is Nadia. I’m Dr. Perez’s assistant.”
After her brief introduction, she stood beside Violet, appearing refined and elegant. However, her eyes kept darting toward Henry when she thought no one was looking.
After completing the introductions, Violet excused herself, instructing Nadia to ask Henry about his symptoms during the cardiac episode. Nadia took out a pen and notebook, carefully recording Henry’s answers to each of her questions.
He answered all her questions without reservation.
After finishing her final question, Nadia closed her notebook with a satisfied smile behind Harding. Your experiences will be extremely valuable for our research.”
her mask. “Thank you for your cooperation, Mr.
She pulled a business card from her pocket: “This is my card. If you experience any discomfort after discharge, please call me anytime. I’m available twenty–four hours a day.”
