Chapter 142 A Cheater
Their relationship wasn’t just bad, it was infamously hostile. They were practically sworn enemies.
Because of that. Savannah rarely stepped foot in the Reed family’s company and chose to go independent. instead.
Still, she made a name for herself. Everyone in Solandis knew about her, though few dared to invite her to events, not wanting to risk offending Tony.
Nolan’s expression darkened further. He didn’t know Savannah very well, but he still muttered, “Sorry.”
Savannah glanced over him. He looked like a complete mess.
“You’re a wreck right now, Nolan. Maybe take a breath first? You’re going to scare Amelia like this. If I were her, I wouldn’t dare open the door either.”
But how could he possibly calm down?
He wiped his face and immediately called Nathan.
“Where’s Dylan?”
Nathan gave him a location.
Tonight, Dylan was out drinking with Logan and a couple of others. They often met up.
In Solandis, there was a tight–knit circle, so small that it only had four members–Dylan Hale, Logan Chase, Jonathan Grant, and Tony Reed.
Each one was a top tier in their own circle, and they just happened to be close friends.
Nolan drove fast and sped over to Nocturne. The bar had a few private rooms reserved specifically for those in the exclusive circle.
He pushed open the door to one of the rooms and saw Dylan holding a wine glass.
Something about Dylan seemed different tonight. Perhaps it was the dim lighting in the room, but there was a decadent air to him.
There were others in the room too. Coincidentally, Tony and Logan were both there.
Tony was even busier than Dylan. With the Reed family in turmoil, it was rare for him to show up at all. Only the few in that tight circle could ever get him to appear.
Nolan ignored the rest, eyes locked onto Dylan. Dylan looked up, though it was hard to tell if he was actually looking at him.
Fury surged up in him as he stormed forward.
“Dylan, I need to ask you something.”
Dylan raised an eyebrow slightly, his face unreadable.”
Nolan turned to the others. “Could you guys give us a moment?”

Logan exchanged a look with Tony. He was about to make a snide remark, but one look from Dylan shut him right up.
Logan grabbed Tony. “Let’s go.”
Tony didn’t argue. He wasn’t in the mood lately either.
After they left, the room remained dimly lit.
Growing up under Dylan’s shadow, he lost much of his nerve now that he was alone with him.
No one in the Hale family dared go against Dylan. Sometimes, Nolan wondered if Dylan was even human. How could he be so perfect at everything?
His fingers curled into a fist at his side. The pain cleared his head a bit, restoring a shred of courage.
“Dylan, don’t you have anything to say to me?”
Dylan was still holding his wine glass, and at the question, he glanced at the crimson liquid inside. “Such as?”
Nolan couldn’t keep his composure. His tone grew rushed and impatient.
“It’s about Amelia. When exactly did the two of you get involved? Was it before or after she lost her memory? If it was after, then you’re just taking advantage of her vulnerability!
“She hated you, despised you! The only reason she’s not pushing you away now is that she has forgotten! You must’ve known that!”
Dylan took a sip of wine, his attitude even calmer.
“Oh? She lost her memory?”
Nolan’s expression darkened further. The man before him didn’t feel like the same cold, aloof figure he once knew. There was a roguish air about him now, like nothing said to him mattered at all.
He was so agitated that his scalp tingled. Words began spilling from him, reckless and furious.
“Amelia’s lips were swollen tonight. Was it you who kissed her?”
Dylan burst into laughter. The sound made Nolan’s skin crawl.
“On what grounds are you questioning me? A few hours ago, didn’t you post on your feed saying that married couples have no ties between them? You two are free agents now, so why does she need to report who she kisses to you?”
Nolan’s pupils shrank sharply. For a moment, he couldn’t argue back..
Damn it! Why did he have to post that?
He trembled all over, and the last bit of color drained from his face.

“So you’re admitting it, Dylan? That it was you who kissed her?”
“Who said I admitted anything?”

Nolan lost this game of wits completely, being led by the nose at every turn.
He couldn’t take it anymore and smashed a bottle of liquor on the floor. The rich scent of alcohol filled the room. Combined with the dim lighting, the scene was chaotic yet strangely beautiful.
“Dylan. I’m asking you one thing. When did you two start messing around? You knew she used to hate you
before!
“Back then, she was crazy about me! Don’t tell me she was faking it the whole time. Don’t tell me she pretended to like me while sneaking around with you behind my back!
“At that time, she was officially my fiancée. We were supposed to get married. If you were with her back then, that makes you a cheater! You’re my uncle! Don’t you feel ashamed?”
