What a shameless man, full of empty words!
I silently glared at Henry as he interacted with Billy. Just lying to children here, what kind of person does that!
By the time the parent–child activities ended, it was already past noon.
Henry took Billy’s hand and led him toward his one–of–a–kind Aston Martin that was unique in the entire city. He didn’t even glance to sy direction, acting as if my presence was completely irrelevant.
At the car, he lifted Billy onto his lap, pulled out his phone, and casually browsed through the Four Seasons Hotel buffet menu. He showed absolutely no concern about whether I’d join them.
Of course, with him holding my child, where could I possibly go?
The driver opened my door, keeping his hand positioned between me and the door frame to ensure I was seated comfortably before returning to the driver’s seat. I reluctantly slid in, trying to maintain as much distance from Henry as possible.
What I didn’t know was that while we were heading to lunch, videos of Henry and Billy at the parent–child activities were already spreading wildly online.
Within just one hour, they had circulated throughout the internet, with rumors of our imminent reconciliation flying everywhere. People flooded my social media accounts with comments:
“Sophia, the god–like man is reaching out to you, humbling himself! Don’t be ungrateful, hurry up and remarry him.”
“You don’t even know who your kid’s real father is, and Henry doesn’t mind–that’s true magnanimity. You’ll regret it if you don’t remarry him.”
Beyond just commenting, they’d even created a poll: “Do you support Sophia and Henry getting back together?”
The “yes” votes outnumbered the “no” votes by more than ten times!
Completely unaware of this online frenzy, we arrived at the Four Seasons with an excited Billy.

The buffet setup meant I didn’t need to cook anything myself–just fill plates with whatever food I liked. This freed up my hands to focus entirely on Billy, cutting his food into manageable pieces and helping him eat.
I deliberately avoided making eye contact with Henry, not looking at him even once. While other tables were filled with laughter and conversation, our table remained strangely silent, with zero communication between the two adults.
Just as I was helping Billy with a particularly difficult piece of steak, a familiar face appeared at the edge of my vision.
Thomas Sanders was approaching our table, looking, confident and elegant.
After his family’s financial collapse, Thomas had abandoned medicine for business. With his family’s commercial background and his reputation for honesty and integrity, he’d recently developed an extremely successful game that had captured the market. Though not as wealthy as the Harding family, Thomas had established himself as one of the city’s new elite–a respectable mid–tier tycoon who now wielded significant influence within his family.
Despite his business success, Thomas had never forgotten Sophia. He had rejected almost every matchmaking attempt arranged by his mother.
Today, his mother had set him up with another prospect–a woman who supposedly resembled Sophia. He had only agreed to meet her at the Four Seasons, but she canceled at the last minute.
Now, spotting Sophia in the restaurant, his face immediately lit up with surprise and delight..

I offered him a polite smile: “Thomas, It’s been a long time. How are you?”
Thomas had left Manhattan General Hospital on William’s orders.
I wasn’t entirely clear on what happened to him afterward, only that Henry had been ruthlessly crushing the Sanders family business, inten bankrupting them. To prevent Thomas from losing everything, I had pleaded with William. The old man, not wanting me to feel guilty about Thomas’s fate, had stepped in to help him.
Seeing Thomas now successful and confident, I felt a weight lift from my heart.
He raised his glass toward me with a warm smile: “Thanks to you, I’m doing very well now. I really should thank you properly. Without your help, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Thomas had been thinking about Sophia constantly!
When her divorce announcement was made public, Thomas had been so excited he couldn’t sleep all night, even sitting in his car outside Betty’s apartment building, watching Sophia’s windows until dawn. But he didn’t mention any of this, probably afraid that expressing his feelings might push Sophia away again.
“Thomas, you’re giving me too much credit,” I replied. “You helped me many times back then too. I only did what I should have.
