Chapter 139 Allergic Reaction
“I’ll take her from here. You can go now.”
Lily opened her mouth to protest, but she obediently handed Amelia over.
Watching Nolan walk away, supporting Amelia, she took out her phone and snapped a photo, Then, the posted it on her social media.
“After all the twists and turns, the ones meant to be together will always find their way back.”
Once she hit send, she got back to her car.
Meanwhile, Nolan helped Amelia to her doorstep. As he bent down to unlock the door with her fingerprint, he noticed her lips were flushed and red.
Amelia suddenly felt herself thrown to the ground. Before she could react, a bucket of cold water came crashing down on her head.
Nolan was holding the bucket. His expression could only be described as grim.
Amelia furrowed her brows, now completely sober. She took a long breath.
“What the hell is wrong with you now?”
Only then did she realize shek
home, sitting by the entryway. But why was Nolan here at her home?
Nolan tossed the bucket aside and bent down to grab her by the collar. In one swift motion, she was forced to her feet. Her anger began to rise when he suddenly demanded.
“What happened to your lips?”
His eyes were pitch–dark, filled with a burning rage that seemed ready to explode.
Amelia took a deep breath. “Let go.”
“I asked. What the hell happened to your lips?”
“Allergic reaction.”
“Amelia, I’ve known you for so many years, and I never knew you had allergies. What exactly are you allergic to?”
“Alcohol.”
“What?”
Nolan thought that he’d heard the world’s biggest joke. “You think I’m stupid? Alcohol? Really? Do you even believe that yourself?”
Amelia was honestly confused. Was it so ridiculous to be allergic to alcohol? How else could she explain the stinging on her lips?
Nolan suddenly let go of her, and she fell back onto the floor. That finally pushed her patience. Bracing herself against the wall, she stood up on her own.

Wiping the water off her face, she pointed toward the door.
Nolan, get out. You’re not welcome in my house.”
He stared at her swollen lips and the dazed look in her eyes left by the alcohol. Suddenly, he asked, “Who did you see today?”
Amelia rubbed her temples, exasperated by his obsessive need to know everything.
“Who I met is none of your business. Your wedding with Milly is approaching. Isn’t it a bit inappropriate for you to be at my house right now?”
“Amelia Summers!”
He roared, not even knowing why he was so furious.
He didn’t know if Amelia had really been fooling around outside or just pretending to be clueless right now. He’d never seen this side of her before.
Pressing his lips together, walked straight toward the door.
“Even if you won’t say it. I’ll find out for myself. And if you’ve been seeing someone behind my back all along, then don’t accuse me of betrayal. When the time comes, we’ll settle it then.”
Amelia was fed up with him. She slammed the door in his face!
She headed straight for the bathroom and filled the tub. As she began undressing, she caught a glimpse of her lips in the mirror. They were indeed very red and tingled painfully at her touch.
Seriously, what was Nolan so worked up about? Wasn’t this just an allergic reaction?
As she removed her clothes, she noticed a faint red mark on her inner thigh. Her hand paused. She frowned.
Amelia had lost her memory. She didn’t recall much, and certainly had never experienced anything intimate before.
She rubbed the spot gently. Her cheeks flushed bright red. It was way too close to her private area. What kind of mosquito could bite like that?
Amelia didn’t have time to dwell on it. Once the tub was full, she slowly slipped in and enjoyed a long, relaxing soak.
Twenty minutes later, she dried off and headed straight to bed. Her whole body felt soft and warm. She’d sleep well tonight, for sure.
Meanwhile, after leaving, Nolan started investigating all of Amelia’s whereabouts that night.
She had followed Dylan earlier in the evening. Could it be…
It was a wild thought, but he couldn’t shake it.
He found out that Dylan had a business dinner at a hotel that evening. He rushed over, hoping to get the security footage. He had to find out what had happened to Amelia’s lips.
Had the two of them been secretly involved all along? Had they been lying to him this whole time? Then

what did that make him then?
His chest was burning with rage. He couldn’t wait to reach the hotel. But when he finally got to the surveillance room, he found out that two hours of footage were missing due to staff negligence.
The hotel manager kept apologizing over and over.

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Nolan. The staff on duty fell asleep and accidentally pressed the button to turn off the cameras. So there’s no footage for those two hours.”
Nolan’s expression turned black with rage. He slammed his fist down hard on a table nearby.
