Almost instantly, Milly got up. She went straight towards Timothy, grabbing the bottle. She exclaimed, “He’ll drink it! Of course he’ll drink it!” She was petrified. She hadn’t bothered to hide her intentions, which made her voice sound extremely urgent.
Timothy was still in shock. She was nothing like the Milly he knew. She was a caring person who couldn’t even bear to hurt an ant. It was impossible that she’d become such a fierce and ruthless person when faced with an extreme situation.
He remained silent, even as Milly was unscrewing the cap and holding his chin with her hand. Then, he started to panic and called out, “Milly…”
Milly looked determined. She had no choice. She didn’t want to die there. So, she went on with her actions. She said, “Timothy, I’m sorry. But I want to live.”
Timothy retorted, “Don’t you think I do too?”
Out of the corner of her eye, Milly saw Amelia approaching her again. Her body trembled in fear. Then she shoved the bottle into Timothy’s mouth. “Mmph…” Timothy was struggling desperately, but he was tied to the chair and couldn’t move a finger.
In less than a minute, he was forced to devour the entire bottle. He bent over and tried to vomit everything out. He felt a wave of relief when he heard that Milly had tossed the bottle to the floor.
“Can I leave? I’ve done everything you asked.”
Amelia shook her head and clicked her tongue. “Ms. Summers, you truly are ruthless. A couple of sips would’ve been enough for it to work, but you made him empty the whole bottle. Not even a miracle can save him now.”
Milly was shocked. Her heart was full of resentment as she listened to Timothy, who was retching violently. If she had the chance, she’d make the person who organized the events of that night pay.
“Ugh,” Timothy gagged several times, but his efforts were in vain.
Amelia opened the door. With a wave of her hand, she said, “We’ll be leaving now. You can do the same too, Ms. Summers. See you next time.”
Amelia added, “That’s right. Savannah was pretty surprised. She couldn’t believe that that was it. Just th Ms. Summers and Mr. Chase, the bottle was merely water and not poison. There, now everyone’s happy, -and both of you are saved.”
Her tone was light, but her words struck Milly like a bolt of lightning. Milly was confused. She had disbelief written all over her face. “What?” Her voice even carried a hint of relief.
“Didn’t I make myself clear? It was just regular water and not poison. Congratulations, neither of you has to die.”
Savannah felt a chill run down her spine. She thought that what Amelia did was extremely ruthless.
Timothy had always been obsessed with Milly. After what happened, there was no way he’d continue to do so. It was likely he’d finally discover Milly’s true side after the incident.
Savannah followed Amelia out of the building. Only after walking for a while did she finally ask in her normál voice, “Amelia, do you have another trick up your sleeve? I suppose I’ve really underestimated you

“Timothy was acting crazy just now. But what if Milly talks her way out of it? Are you seriously not gonna do anything else?”
Amelia took off her mask. Her starry eyes shone brighter than the stars in the night sky. “Nope. I know Milly. She’ll never leave any evidence behind that would prove harmful to her.”
“What?” Savannah asked.
Amelia let out a cold laugh. “She wants to maintain this perfect image of herself, but Timothy has already seen her true colors. That means Timothy won’t survive the night.”
In short, Milly would take matters into her own hands and blame the kidnappers for Timothy’s death that night. That way, no one would ever know the truth. Plus, she could continue playing innocent.
Savannah was amused and laughed. “You really are something. So, should we go back in, stop her, and save Timothy?”
They were already seated in the car. Amelia smiled and answered. “I’ve already informed his family. Someone will be here to rescue him soon. He’ll just think it’s another test for his love if we save him. But it’ll be a totally different story if he’s saved by the Chase family.”
Savannah praised her and said, “Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.”
Back in the room, only Timothy and Milly remained. Timothy was still in a daze.
Even though his impression of Milly had already started to shatter, he still had a little hope deep down in his heart. “Milly, did you really not hesitate at all just now?”
Milly’s face was still pale. Her body was stiff, and her palms were sweating.
She’d never imagined that things would turn out that way. She’d thought he’d die after drinking the water, but now everything had taken a dramatic turn.
A ruthless glint flashed in her eyes. If he told anyone what happened that night, everyone would know that she had always been playing innocent. Plus, her recording was still a major topic of discussion everywhere.
