Chapter 118 A Mother’s Betrayal
Pain sharpened Amelia’s gaze.
“I’m warning you one last time. Don’t come any closer, or I’ll end my life right here!
Felix’s scalp prickled with fury. Fine. He’d simply wait out this wretched woman. He didn’t believe she could stand there indefinitely.
ར
The sedative filling the room was incredibly potent; no one could resist it.
He’d see if she still had the strength to stand in ten or 15 minutes.
Amelia clutched the glass shard. Despite overwhelming sleepiness and weak legs, her willpower kept her awake. She couldn’t fall asleep.
Her grip tightened, the shards digging into her flesh until blood streamed down her hand.
She looked terrifying. Blood stained her legs, her palm, and even streaked her neck.
Each time she felt herself drifting, she squeezed the glass harder, forcing herself to stay conscious.
Felix had assumed she’d give in within ten minutes, yet half an hour had passed and she remained standing She was stiff, unmoving, and stubborn as ever.
Damn it, how could she be so merciless to herself?
He exhaled sharply and quickly dialed Celia.
“Celia, your daughter’s really pushing her limits. What do you want me to do? I’m worried someone might end up dead.”
He didn’t bother lowering his voice, deliberately letting Amelia hear every word and making sure she knew this was all orchestrated by Celia.
Celia was still at Milly’s bedside in the hospital, unable to leave. Milly had cried herself hoarse, vomited repeatedly, and was completely drained.
When she heard about Amelia’s situation, she grew agitated, pacing by the window with trembling legs, looking like she might collapse any second.
“Mom, I don’t want to hear anything more about Amelia. I just want everything to be over! I’d rather die than keep living like this!”
Shaken, Celia immediately called Felix back. “Milly’s not doing well. As for Amelia, do as you see fit. If she dies, then so be it! Just pretend I never had a daughter like her.”
She hung up and rushed to grab Milly’s wrist.
“Milly, don’t do anything stupid.” I’ve already sent Felix to deal with Amelia. Didn’t you want them to get married? It’ll happen soon.”
A flicker of satisfaction flashed in Milly’s eyes. Her tears and threats had clearly worked.
Relieved, Celia helped her sit down on the bed. “Don’t worry about a thing. Mr. Hale Senior has personally acknowledged your relationship with Nolan.”
Chapter 118 A Mother’s Betrayal
The mention of Calum instantly brought Dylan, his favorite son, to Milly’s mind.
A surge of excitement bubbled within her. She vividly remembered how, not long after joining the Summers family, she had attended a banquet hosted by the Hales. That evening marked her first die of Dylan, who was surrounded by admirers, his presence so perfect it almost felt unreal.
At the time, Dylan had only exchanged a few brief words with her, and she’d been so flustered she hadn’t known how to respond.
Though she had always felt a quiet competition with Nolan, part of her still secretly wished that someone as perfect as Dylan might one day be drawn to her.
Even now, confined to a wheelchair and no longer flawless, he still felt completely out of reach.
And as her own wedding approached, she couldn’t help but think of him.
“Mom, has Mr. Hale Senior ever mentioned anything about Dylan getting married?”
Celia knew who Dylan was. Everyone in Solandis did.
Though he’d vanished for two years, his name continued to appear in global financial headlines.
The Summers family might be able to marry into Nolan’s world but when it came to Dylan, no one dared to dream.

“I don’t know for sure, but I haven’t seen him with any women in years. Regardless, his personal matters don’t concern us. Don’t mention him again! The Hale family has always held Amelia responsible because of him.“.
A flicker of satisfaction crossed Milly’s face. After all, the Hale family had accepted her, but they despised
Amelia.
In her mind, she had already won. She had long surpassed Amelia.
After the call ended, Felix turned on Amelia again.
“You heard it yourself! Even your own mother doesn’t care whether you live or die. So why should a stranger like me give a damn?”
His voice dripped with malice as he leaned closer.
“Listen carefully! If you even think about dying, I’ll release that video of you. You won’t find peace, not even in death.”
Amelia’s hand trembled.
She instinctively stepped back, but there was no way out. The barred window cut off any chance of escape.
With Celia’s approval secured, Felix didn’t hesitate. In his mind, even if she died, it wouldn’t matter to
anyone.
She was completely drained and couldn’t avoid his assault this time. He shoved her onto the bed, smearing blood from her palm across the sheets.
Felix’s lips curled into a sadistic smile. “Finally got you where I want you, sweetheart. Don’t worry, I’ll treat you real nice. Hahaha.”

“Get off mel
Amelia thrashed against him, but every movement only caused the wound on her neck to bleed more profusely. Felix showed no concern. His hand slid downward, tugging at her waistband.
Her mind spun into a daze. Summoning the last of her strength, she fought back, only to be met with a sharp slap across her face.
“I told you to stay still, you bitch! Do you want me to get rougher?”
Despair flooded her eyes. Inside, she felt nothing and was completely numb.
Just then, the door to the hospital room burst open with a loud crash. Before she could even register what was happening, Felix was yanked off of her.
