Chapter 116 The Psychiatric Ward
Nolan’s brief hesitation over Amelia quickly dissipated. He was certain that Milly had given herself to him.
He embraced Milly tightly, exhaling deeply.
“I’ve made arrangements for Amelia to be committed to the psychiatric facility. Once our wedding is over, she can be released.”
Though he no longer desired Amelia, the thought of handing her over to Felix was unthinkable.
If he couldn’t have her, that thug certainly wouldn’t either.
A satisfied smile curled on Milly’s lips as she nestled happily in his arms. “Alright, I’ll do whatever you say.”
Amelia had barely left the hospital when Damien caught up to her with a face full of anxiety.
He grabbed her sleeve. “Amelia, I have something for you.”
She raised an eyebrow when she noticed the small recorder in his hand.
Damien wiped the sweat from his forehead. “It’s a long story. Promise me, after you clear your name this time, you’ll help me keep my job at the hospital.”
Amelia’s gaze softened, amused by his obvious fear. He must have been frightened by the truck driver’s sudden appearance, thinking Milly was about to make a move at the hospital.
She had expected him to take the evidence to Nolan. Instead, he chose to trust her. That was fine by her.
“What’s on it, Dr. Dawson??”
“It’s evidence that Ms. Summers framed you! She was never pregnant. This is a recording of our conversation. Amelia, you’re a good person. I trust you’ll help me.”
Amelia held the recorder with a faint smile on her lips.
“Thank you, Dr. Dawson. You should go home for now. Milly can be quite ruthless, so staying home is safest. Things will settle down soon.”
“Alright, Amelia, I’m counting on you.”
As Damien hurried off, Amelia began copying the files from the recorder. But before she could finish, a black vehicle screeched to a halt in front of her.
It was a Summers family car, and four to five bodyguards stepped out from the vehicle.
They were there to take her to the psychiatric hospital.
Without hesitation, Amelia forwarded the recording to Dylan.
She wasn’t entirely sure why. Perhaps, unlike the others, Dylan was cold but not dangerous to her. Plus, she’d still have to act as his ‘sleeping pill‘ whenever he required her.
After all, isn’t mutual need the cornerstone of any strong relationship?
She quickly sent a message to Dylan.

Chapter 116 The Psychiatric Ward
“Mr. Hale, your sleeping pill is counting on you!”
The moment she pressed send, bodyguards swarmed her.
She didn’t resist, fearing any struggle would only worsen the situation.
Two of them ushered her into a car where Alexander was already waiting.

His expression was troubled. He seemed on the verge of speaking, then clamped his mouth shut, offering only a curt instruction to the bodyguards.
“Take her there. Everything’s ready.”
He avoided meeting her eyes, which were rimmed with red from suppressed tears.
Amelia didn’t speak. Once she was moved to a different car, she simply closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Two Summers family bodyguards sat inside, smirking at her composure.
“Someone as vicious as Ms. Amelia will get what’s coming to her.”
“Unbelievable how two sisters raised by the same mother could be so different, especially after she caused Ms. Milly to lose her child. How can she rest so easily?”
Amelia opened her eyes, noticing the blind loyalty in their expressions, and fifted an eyebrow.
“She’s certainly cultivated two loyal dogs.”
Milly’s inherent narcissism drove her to charm men, but any woman more beautiful than herself would trigger her wariness. She feared losing the attention she believed was exclusively hers.
But not every woman lives for men’s approval.
Her words ignited one guard’s fury. His hand flew up and struck her across the face before she could react.
With bloodshot eyes, the bodyguard snarled, “Ms. Milly is a thousand times better than you! At the Summers‘ residence, you looked down on all of us. If not for Ms. Milly’s kindness, we’d have left long ago!”
Pressing her palm to her burning cheek, Amelia’s thoughts wandered,
Had she really been so awful at the Summers‘ house? Had she truly been that cruel?
The other guard, far from stopping the assault, seemed satisfied, having long harbored the same
resentment.
To them, Amelia was nothing but a bitch, a villain who deserved to be shunned.
Amelia simply smiled quietly, saying nothing, but she mentally noted the slap.
The car pulled to a stop at the psychiatric hospital. As she was being escorted inside, she unexpectedly encountered James and the hospital director.
Her father, usually indifferent to household conflicts and was always a stern figure at work, let out a faint sigh when he saw Amelia.
“Take this time to reflect. The arrangements are made. You’ll be released when you’re well again.”
