Chapter 234
Sharon retorted, “Yeah? You got a problem?”
The team leader was instantly at a loss for words, thinking in shock, ‘Wait, she’s actually Sharon, the daughter of the Vance family.
‘She’s the only S–level freshman this year, personally handpicked by the principal?
Isn’t Sharon supposed to be some famously pampered princess? She skipped out on freshman camp for days, and her fiancé, Nicholas, spoils her rotten.
‘Isn’t she supposed to look all sweet and proper? But this short–haired, tattooed guy in front of me is Sharon. Is this for real?
‘Or is my nearsightedness getting worse, and I’m just seeing things?‘
“She’s my fiancée,” Nicholas spoke up, stepping in to block the team lead
predatory stare.
He thought, ‘Why are you staring at my fiancée like that? No staring allowed.‘
The team leader swallowed nervously and said, “So… the one who got kidnapped just now was you? What are the odds?”
He thought, ‘No wonder Nicholas acted so weird, risking so much just to save her. So it turns out to be Sharon!
A minute ago, the team leader was all cocky, but now, he was totally deflated.
He thought, ‘With how much Nicholas spoils Sharon, if word got out that I didn’t want to save Sharon, I’d be the one getting roasted.
‘S–level students are hard to come by these days. The principal spent ten years trying to trick, no, warmly invite this girl to enroll.‘
The team leader sighed, “Let’s just wait for the academy’s inspection team to handle this.”
Even though Sharon’s got a special status, this wasn’t exactly a small matter. He suddenly wanted nothing to do with this mess.
The team leader left first. Sharon knew she caused Nicholas a lot of trouble this time, and she felt a little guilty.
Nicholas said, “Don’t overthink it. Get in the car. Didn’t you sneak out? I’ll take you back.”
“Alright.” Sharon nodded and got in the car.
Jannie suddenly spoke up, “Uh, we have a car.”
Nicholas turned around, his gaze icy. “She’s riding with me.”
Jannie instantly shut up, thinking, ‘Geez, Boss‘ fiancé is crazy possessive. Ugh, another guy is trying to steal our boss. I hate him.‘
Riley tugged Jannie away, thinking to herself, ‘Since Boss is busy fooling her fiancé, we shouldn’t get in the way.‘
In the car, Nicholas grabbed a wet wipe and handed it to Sharon. “Clean up. What if you run into your brothers when we get back?”
Sharon thought he had a point. She took the wipe and cleaned off her forearm, revealing her fair skin–the fierce–looking tattoo from earlier was gone.
Then she took off her wig, instantly turning back into the picture–perfect good girl with long, flowing hair.
“Shari, there’s something I’ve always wanted to ask you.” Brent, who was driving up front, finally couldn’t hold it in and turned to look at the two people in the back seat.
Nicholas narrowed his eyes, as if saying, “Don’t say anything stupid.”

Sharon said calmly, “What is it?”
Brent said, “That tattoo was pretty cool. Where’d you get it done? I want one too.”
Brent grinned. “And your outfit’s awesome. Which shop did you get it from? Send me the link. I want to buy one too.”
Sharon replied, “I’ll have my friend send you the link later.”
Brent replied, “Thanks, Mrs. Baxter.”
Sharon coughed, her cheeks turning a little red. “Don’t call me that.”
Brent replied, “Why not? You’re Boss‘ fiancée, so you will be his real wife soon.”
Nicholas shot him a glare, and Brent immediately shut up.
Brent thought, ‘Jeez, Boss is scary. Can’t even joke around him.’
An hour later, the car pulled up at the Atlantis Hotel, and Sharon took the private elevator from the garage.
She glanced back at Nicholas and said, “Thanks for today.”
“Go on. And try not to be so reckless next time.” Nicholas leaned against the car door, watching Sharon walk away.
As she left, the pattern and letters “Solar Flare” on the back of her jacket were impossible to miss. His gaze grew noticeably darker.
After a moment, he bent down and got into the car. Brent suddenly rolled up the window, his face turning serious. “Boss, our guys found a body under the waterfall.”
“Whose body?” asked Nicholas.
Brent replied, “Daniel’s.”
Nicholas‘ head snapped up. “What did you say?”
“It’s confirmed–it’s Daniel. Someone snapped his spine with bare hands and tossed him off the cliff. He was tortured before he died. His ribs were broken, and his jaw was loose too.”
“What are you trying to say?”
Brent straightened up, his tone grave. “Boss, you know what I mean. In that situation, the only one who could’ve killed Daniel with their bare hands was Sharon.”
Brent thought, ‘In other words, Sharon killed the guy who kidnapped her.
‘The chopper left with other people, and Sharon never mentioned any of this. If we hadn’t found Daniel’s body, we’d all still be in the dark.
We would’ve thought Daniel was still alive, and that he kidnapped Sharon and got away clean. But that’s not what happened, which means there’s a much bigger problem here. Why did Sharon lie?‘
