Chapter 106 A Reckless Push
Amelia was at a loss for words, managing only a few weak attempts to console him.
Alexander could see right through her. Her detached manner only fueled his frustration,
She stayed for another half hour before quietly getting ready to leave. Alexander, never the type to ask anyone to stay, simply reminded her to come back the next day.
When Amelia walked out of the hospital, she saw Milly waiting by the stairwell.
“Amelia, we need to talk.”
Amelia didn’t respond. She had no interest in a conversation and tried to walk past her.
Milly abruptly stepped in front of her, but Amelia instinctively pushed her hand away.
That simple gesture sent Milly stumbling backward and then tumbling down the stairs.
Still trying to make sense of what had just unfolded, Amelia lifted an eyebrow as Alexander’s voice sounded from behind.
“Amelia!”
He rushed over, limping on one leg with a pale face.
“I warned you not to argue with Milly! Now look at this mess. Why did you have to push her? Why did you have to push her? She said you two fought, and I didn’t want to believe her, but you really went too far this time. Mom and Dad will be furious all over again.”
Alexander scrambled down the stairs, reaching out to help Milly, but Timothy was already there.
Blood dripped from Milly’s leg, gradually staining the floor beneath her.
Her face was ghostly pale as she clung to Timothy, her entire body trembling.
“Timothy, where’s Nolan?”
Timothy looked up, his eyes darkening with venom as he glared at her.
Standing at the top of the stairs, Amelia inwardly cursed herself for being so easily caught in such an obvious trap.
With a trembling voice and hands pressed to her belly, Milly cried out, “My stomach… I can’t take the pain. Please, help me inside.”
Without a word, Timothy scooped her into his arms and strode toward the hospital.
As he passed Amelia, his gaze scorched her with hatred.
Alexander paused as he walked by her, looking completely lost.
“Amelia, you should leave the country for now. If anything happens to Milly’s child, you’ll be held responsible. The Hale family won’t let you walk away from this.”
“I didn’t push her,” Amelia defended herself, but Alexander cut her off sharply, his anger barely contained

“I saw everything with my own eyes! Stop trying to deny it! I used to believe you were simply a bit
impulsive, but this concerns a child’s life. How can you stay so indifferent?”
His voice cracked, eyes burning red with emotion. The rift between Amelia and the family was only deepening.
Wiping at his eyes, Alexander turned and rushed after Timothy.
Amelia trailed behind them in silence, eventually sitting alone in the corridor outside the emergency room, waiting for the doctor’s verdict.
About twenty minutes later, Nolan and Celia arrived.
Just then, the doctor emerged, pulling off his mask.
“She’s fine. But… the baby couldn’t be saved.”
Celia felt like she’d been struck by lightning. “What happened? How did this happen?”
Timothy rested against the wall, blood still smeared on his hands.
“Why don’t you ask your other daughter? She’s the one who pushed Milly down the stairs.”
Celia’s eyes reddened with rage. Without hesitation, she stepped forward and struck Amelia hard across the face.
“Amelia! What more do you want from us? Are you satisfied now that Milly has lost her child? She’s your sister! Back when you both were kidnapped, she sacrificed herself so you could run. But you never called the police or told anyone! You left her to endure years of torment. Do you have any idea what kind of people her adoptive parents were?”
Celia trembled from head to toe, her voice raw with fury.
Amelia didn’t flinch, taking the slap square on her cheek.
Nolan looked at her intently. She braced herself for a sarcastic remark, but he said nothing.
Just then, a nurse wheeled Milly out of the room.
Slumped in the wheelchair, Milly looked ghostly pale. The moment she saw Celia, tears welled up and spilled down her cheeks.
“Mom…”
Celia’s heart ached as she knelt and embraced her.
“Milly, you’ll have more children in the future,” she whispered gently. Milly gave a faint, weak smile.
“Yes, there will be other chances. Don’t hold Amelia responsible. It was my own mistake for not keeping my balance. She wasn’t involved.”
Milly’s continued defense of Amelia, even in this situation, only deepened Celia’s frustration.
“That’s enough! Quit covering for her. She’s become this reckless because you’ve indulged her for too long!
Celia pulled Milly close, her eyes filled with contempt as she glared at Amelia.

Finished
“Amelia, there’s clearly something wrong with you. I was willing to keep you at home, but after the mess you’ve caused, I’ve had enough. I’ll have someone take you to a psychiatric hospital. Maybe then you’ll finally reflect on your actions.”
Amelia glanced at Milly, nestled in Celia’s embrace. The corners of her lips curled into a faint smile.
She had long since paid off the doctors to stage a miscarriage. Every detail had been carefully arranged for
this outcome.
Now, Amelia’s downfall was inevitable and well deserved.
