Chapter 227
Daniel replied, “What else could it be? The secret of Lostara. You can’t tell me you’re not curious. But the House of Obsidian Keeps it all to the won’t let anyone else near it. You really think they’re good guys?”
Daniel gritted his teeth through the pain, his eyes burning with resentment,
Sharon asked, “So you admit you were the one who brought the House of Obsidian here?”
Sharon was so mad, and she cursed inwardly, ‘Damn bastard! He knew I can’t afford to run into anyone from the House of Obsidian right now, and yet. they’re the ones who show up.
I still have no idea who exactly is out there. Whoever it is, this is bad news!
Sharon turned to Black Cameron. “What do we do now?”
Sharon recognized that weapon–it was the same one she’d seen five years ago.
Back then, that jerk called Niko used it against her. If it weren’t for that, she wouldn’t have been separated from her team for five years.
Cameron pressed his lips into a thin line. “Let me check things out first.”
He thought, ‘Everyone looks grim. We knew just how dangerous that weapon was. These people are serious trouble,
‘We still have no idea how many enemies are out there or how many of tho

weapons they have.
Daniel looked up at Sharon. “By the way, when you all suddenly disappeared five years ago, was it because of the House of Obsidian? You were curious about Lostara too, weren’t you?”
Jannie looked on high alert.
Sharon’s face stayed calm. “That’s none of your business.”
Five years ago, things really did happen just like Daniel said.
But they ran into a group blocking their way, armed with weapons Sharon had never seen before. During the chaos, she got separated from her team.
Cameron, Riley, and Jannie once accidentally wandered into Lostara. It took them five years to finally find a way out, and all they found there was
danger.
Even now, Sharon still didn’t get why that place was so mysterious.
She thought, ‘Why does the House of Obsidian guard it so tightly, never letting anyone get close or uncover its secrets?‘
“Help! Police, somebody help me! I’ve been kidnapped!” Suddenly, a man burst out, still yelling his head off.
But Daniel’s guys pinned him down in no time.
Sharon raised an eyebrow, thinking, ‘So this is the mastermind. With everything going on, I actually forgot about the person hidden in the basement.’
The mastermind didn’t get far before he was dragged back, his face ashen as he glared at everyone. “Don’t get too full of yourselves. Someone’s coming
to save me.”
Sharon scoffed, “You really think they’re here for you?”
Sharon couldn’t help but think this guy wasn’t too bright, which made it way less likely they’d ever find the one who gave him the job. She felt a little

disappointed.
The guy shot back, “If they re not here for me, then are they here for you?”
Sharon gave a half smile. They’re here to kill us that right now, they probality think you’re with us to your’re not getting out of this barat
“I don’t want to die. I just took a job. Why do i have to die for it?” the man protested
“People who are useless have no reason to stay alive. Maybe death is a mercy for you? Sharon sand coldly.
The man looked completely crushed. He was still alive, but he was forced to face this mess. For him, things couldn’t get any vinrea
He felt like a helpless puppy stuck in a pack of wolves, with a bunch of lions circling outside, waiting to pronce
He complained to himsell, I’m really just a nobody caught in the middle!
Daniel spoke up. “Deal with him. We can’t risk our plan getting exposed.”
The mastermind instantly lost all hope. “I swear, I don’t want to die. Please, don’t
me.”
Just then, a man dressed in black showed up at the warehouse entrance, his face hidden behind a black mask. He raised both hands and said, “I’m here to negotiate.”
The moment Sharon heard that familiar voice, she darted upstairs as fast as she could, not wanting to be seen.
Her team members did the same, huddling close to her.
Daniel nodded and motioned for him to come over.
Brent walked in and spotted the bloodstains on the floor. He thought, ‘Did Daniel already take out Solar Flare? Why isn’t there any sign of Solar Flare’s people?‘
Brent scanned the room, and just then, Nicholas‘ icy voice came through his earpiece. “Keep asking.”
Brent kept his cool. “We can negotiate, but you have to hand that person over to us.”
He referred to the mastermind behind the scenes.
Daniel narrowed his eyes. “No. I can’t give him to you right now.”
He didn’t really get why they were so hung up on someone who seemed unimportant, but anyone with value was worth keeping around.
“Our boss says, in exchange, you get half an hour to get out of here. Daniel, that shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?” Brent said.
They’d crossed paths plenty of times before, so Brent knew exactly what kind of guy Daniel was.
Daniel paused for a moment before saying, “Let me think about it.”
“Ten minutes. If you don’t hand him over, we’ll make our move.” Brent turned on his heel and walked out.
But just then, two people suddenly sprang out from the eaves, trying to take Brent down. Before they could get close, snipers outside opened fire, forcing them to back off immediately.
Brent paused at the doorway, shot Daniel a look full of contempt, and said, “Don’t overestimate yourself. We’ve got this place locked down. You’re dead this time.”
Daniel watched him leave, cursing furiously in frustration. On top of that, he was injured and couldn’t even fight back. There was nothing else they could
- do.
Chapter 221
Daniel looked upstairs. What do you think??
Sharon slowly stood up, her expression turning complicated. She thought, I never expected the one who sherred as woode
if Nicholas finds out who I really am, what I happen then?
