Sharon asked, “So what should we do now?”

The three of them were totally in sync with Sharon. Just from Sharon’s movements, they could tell what she wanted to do.
They could tell that Sharon had been ready to kill Daniel a moment ago.
Daniel eyed Sharon warily and edged a few steps away. Just then, one of his men came in from outside. “We’re surrounded. We can’t reach our people. Not sure if something’s happened to them.”
Sharon thought, ‘Something’s definitely gone wrong. This is bad.‘
For the first time, Sharon actually felt a little anxious. She looked at Jannie. “Got anything I can use to cover my face?”

Jannie suggested, “Boss, where are we supposed to find anything for you now? Why not just smear some mud on your face?”
Sharon stared at Jannie. “You think that works?”
Jannie smiled, “Well, that’s not exactly a great plan.”
Jannie scratched his head, thinking, ‘Honestly, no one saw this coming. What now? We still don’t even know who’s outside.
‘If the people outside aren’t from the academy, we’re in the clear. But if they are, wouldn’t that mean Boss gets exposed on the spot?
‘And then their old nemesis, Niko, would find us in no time flat. Ugh, the more I think about it, the worse it sounds.‘
A flash of irritation flickered in Sharon’s eyes. Compared to the danger right now, she was even more worried about someone recognizing her.
She wondered, ‘What if the ones outside are from House of Obsidian? Wait, that doesn’t add up.‘
Sharon narrowed her eyes at Daniel. “When did House of Obsidian start coming after you guys?”
Daniel coughed. “Who says they’re after me? Maybe they’re after you. Didn’t you have beef with them before?” Daniel didn’t admit anything. Sharon glanced outside, wondering, ‘If those are really people from the House of Obsidian, that means either my or Daniel’s identity has been blown. That’s the absolute worst–case scenario.
‘Solar Flare and Daniel from the Hunter forum are clearly a pair of troublemakers plotting something shady.
‘Man, I’ve gotten way too used to playing the good girl lately, and I almost forgot my real identity is an outlaw who can’t show my face. The situation is really at a standstill.‘
Daniel watched Sharon for a long time, then finally asked, “Got any ideas?”

Daniel was at a loss for words.

Daniel sent someone out to shout through a loudspeaker, “Whoever’s out there, show yourself and say something. If you want us dead, at least gyd us a straight answer.”
There was no response to their words.
Daniel was starting to get nervous. He gritted his teeth and walked out himself. “Guys, maybe I’ve pissed you off before, but let’s talk this out face to face.”
The silence all around was thick with danger.
Nicholas was hidden at the highest spot, listening with that same icy expression.
He’d already lost so many men, and one of them was in critical condition, rushed to the hospital. There was no way he would let this go.
Nicholas pulled out his weapon and fired straight at Daniel, who was standing in the yard.
Daniel sensed the danger just in time and yanked the nearest guy in front of him as a shield, but the weapon packed a punch–he still got hit.
Panicked, he stumbled back inside, his clothes soaked in blood.

Sharon saw the whole thing, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.
She’d watched as Daniel got hit just now. That weapon was definitely something special.
Daniel did a quick bandage job, then gritted his teeth and said, “I know who’s out there now. It’s someone from the House of Obsidian.”
“Are you sure?” A look of surprise flashed in Sharon’s eyes. “What did you do this time?”
She thought, ‘I can’t believe the House of Obsidian is going this far. They actually want to kill Daniel.’
