Chapter 101 Proving Something

Since she was already embarrassing herself, she wasn’t afraid to embarrass herself more. At least Dylan was a decent person.
She crouched down, placing her hands on his knees. “Besides, my massage skills are quite good. Let me give you a head massage. Maybe you’ll fall asleep quickly. Just remember to give me a raise. I’ve been a bit short on meney lately.”
As soon as she finished, Dylan chuckled, his laughter causing a light tremble in his chest.
Dylan looked truly handsome when he laughed like that,
Amelia pressed her lips together in embarrassment, and she didn’t dare meet his gaze.
Dylan maneuvered his wheelchair into the elevator, a trace of amusement still in his voice. “Then stay”
Amelia let out a sigh of relief and quickly followed behind him.
He kept a regular routine, first going to the study to handle some documents.
Amelia didn’t want to disturb him and simply poured him some water nearby.
Around 11:00 pm, she couldn’t help but sit beside him, already feeling a little sleepy. She only snapped awake when the sound of flipping documents resumed.
Dylan put down the file in his hand. “If you’re sleepy, go to bed.”
But Amelia didn’t know where she would sleep yet. She hadn’t expected to actually be allowed to stay at Palm Bay.
It was said that Dylan hadn’t had any woman around him in recent years, and yet she had stayed so effortlessly.
“Mr. Hale, I can stay up.”
Dylan looked up and noticed her sleepiness, then headed outside.
Amelia quickly followed, “You’re going to sleep?”
“Yes.”
The master bedroom was done in a dark tone, looking very calm and oppressive.
Amelia saw him take out pajamas from the closet and walk toward the bathroom, knowing he was to take a shower.
She was worried about his leg, but since she was a woman, it wasn’t appropriate to follow him in.
“Be careful with your leg. I’ll get you a glass of milk.”
At that moment, Dylan was leaning against the bathroom door. The bright light in the bathroom cast a golden glow on him.
Amelia gave him a smile. “What’s wrong?”

Amelia went downstairs to the kitchen and got a glass of milk. Just as she was about to heat it up, she heard a voice from the side, “Who’s there?”
Amelia turned her head and saw that it was the housekeeper.
The housekeeper looked at her with curiosity, eyeing her up and down, then called out, “Ms. Summers?”
Amelia was surprised; she hadn’t expected the housekeeper at Palm Bay to know her.
“Yes, I didn’t think you’d recognise me.”
The housekeeper smiled kindly. “Of course 1 recognise you, but you haven’t been here for so long. I thought you’d never come back.”
Amelia opened her mouth in surprise. Had she been here before? Maybe the housekeeper had mistaken her for someone else?
She didn’t correct the misunderstanding. Just then, the microwave beeps to signal that it’s done..
Amelia took out the warm milk and was about to head back upstairs when the housekeeper spoke again, “Mr. Hale doesn’t talk much, but he definitely cares about you, Ms. Summers. Don’t hold a grudge against him.”
Amelia felt awkward and became more convinced that she had been mistaken for someone else.
Maybe the one who came before was Ms. Grant? She nodded, “I know.”
The housekeeper seemed like she wanted to say more, but when she turned her head, she saw Dylan standing at the top of the stairs.
His hair was wet, and he stood there silently.
The housekeeper immediately fell silent, as if realizing she had said too much, and went off to do something else.
Amelia hurried upstairs with the warm milk. She saw water droplets still on him, even dripping from his
hair.
“Mr. Hale, you’ll catch a cold like this.”
Dylan turned around. He walked slowly, and when he reached the bedroom door, he held the door frame.
Amelia quickly set the milk down on the table in the room and came back to support him.
Dylan let her assist him, and they walked together.
Just as Dylan was about to drink the glass of milk, Amelia’s phone rang. It was Nolan calling.
After leaving Hale Corporation earlier today, Nolan had felt uneasy all day, sensing something odd in Dylan’s attitude.
With no outlet for his anxiety, he called Amelia on a whim.
Amelia accidentally pressed the speaker button, and a voice came through, “If I don’t marry Milly, Amelia,

Amelia’s heart trembled violently. What nonsense was he shouting now? Milly was already pregnant, and yet he was considering not marrying her?
Absolutely not!
She quickly grabbed her phone, worried about losing her composure in front of Dylan, and walked out of the room, her tone anxious. “What did you say?”
Dylan watched her anxious figure leave the room, his fingertips tightening around his cup. He looked down at the milk without saying a word.
Amelia walked far down the corridor, only stopping once she was sure Dylan couldn’t hear her, then began scolding.
“Are you out of your mind? Milly is carrying your child, and you’re talking about not getting married?” Nolan had a bit of a drink tonight. Thinking about Dylan’s attitude, he felt deeply uneasy.
Nolan despised the darkness within himself, yet he desperately wanted to prove something.
