Chapter 278
This divorce drama between Henry and Sophia had dragged on far too long, and it was clearly making Catherine increasingly anxious.
It had been six months since Sophia signed those divorce papers, yet Henry still refused to follow suit. His reluctance spoke volumes–if he truly wanted this divorce, he wouldn’t have needed Sophia to initiate it. He could have thrown her out the moment Isabella returned to New York.
Catherine desperately needed her son to divorce Sophia so Isabella could legitimately enter the Harding family. If she failed to accomplish this, her decades–old secret would be exposed to the
world,
At that point, she would no longer be the respected Mrs. Harding that everyone admired. Instead, she’d fall from grace, never to rise again.
Once inside the luxury sedan, Catherine didn’t follow Richard back to the Harding estate, but instead pulled out a second phone and made a call.
“Where are you?” Her voice dropped to a whisper, her aristocratic demeanor melting away. “I need to see you.” She paused, listening to the response. “There’s a complicated matter you must help me with.” Another pause. “Fine, we’ll discuss it in person.”
The car deliberately took a detour, completely avoiding the Harding estate and heading toward a secluded farm on the outskirts of the city.
When Catherine arrived, a man wearing dark sunglasses was already there, seated in one of two chairs positioned by the river. Despite the biting cold of the New York winter, he sat there casually holding a fishing rod, seemingly enjoying the weak sunshine.
Catherine approached him with an eagerness that betrayed their familiarity. Taking the empty seat beside him, she drew in a deep breath before speaking.
“Oliver, I’m in serious trouble this time. You have to help me.”
The man turned toward her, looking at her over the rim of his sunglasses. His lips curved into a suggestive smile. “How big could this trouble possibly be? Bigger than your chest?” As he spoke, his gaze deliberately swept across her full breasts, his smile becoming increasingly lecherous.
“Catherine, you’re always so impulsive. How could you possibly handle important matters?” He cast his line again. “Besides, no matter how big the problem is, don’t you have me to solve it?”
Faced with his teasing, Catherine’s cheeks flushed slightly. She turned away coyly, presenting her back to him. “What nonsense are you talking about? There are so many eyes watching us. Have you
no shame?”

Oliver Smith seemed to love this demure act of hers. Setting aside his fishing rod, he moved to Catherine’s chair, forcing himself beside her in the single seat.
Catherine had maintained herself impeccably–her skin was fair and smooth, almost wrinkle–free and her figure was perfectly proportioned, with curves in all the right places and not an ounce of excess fat elsewhere,
Years of disciplined exercise had kept her body toned and firm.
Without such efforts, how could she have possibly maintained Richard’s attention all these decades?
The moment Oliver sat down, his hands began to wander, boldly cupping her breast. Catherine made a few half–hearted attempts to dodge his advances, but when it became clear she couldn’t escape, she stopped trying.
She nestled against his chest, clutching his collar as she whispered, “This trouble involves our daughter. Her voice dropped even lower. “If you don’t help me, our little family of three will be
ruined.”
Oliver’s hands moved with practiced skill, pulling down the zipper of her down jacket. Rather than
reaching inside, he circled her nipple through the fabric, causing her breath to catch.
“Our daughter? You mean Isabella?” He continued his caresses. “What’s wrong with her? Aren’t
Henry and Sophia about to divorce? This is precisely when we need to remain calm.”
Catherine melted against him, overcome with sensation. She bit down hard on his neck before responding. “That little bitch has some kind of spell over Henry. He’s completely infatuated with her
and refuses to divorce her.”
Her breathing grew increasingly labored. “Oliver, stop, I can’t take anymore. Let’s go inside.”
Oliver’s smile widened as his hands grew bolder, lifting her cashmere dress to caress her inner
thighs.
“Is that all? You had me worried it was something serious,” he chuckled. “Getting that little tramp to divorce Henry is simple enough. There are countless ways.” He leaned close to Catherine’s ear, whispering several sentences so quietly that even the wind couldn’t catch them.
Catherine’s eyes lit up through her haze of desire. “That’s perfect! We should implement it
immediately!“-
Oliver’s movements suddenly stilled, his gaze growing intense. “I’ve solved your problem, now you
need to satisfy me.”
Catherine understood exactly what he wanted. Without hesitation, she unbuckled his belt and lowered her head to his lap, taking his penis into her mouth without reluctance, performing oral sex

on him.
From behind a distant tree, Richard’s private investigator watched the scene unfold with mounting
frustration.
Such an explosive situation was unfolding before his eyes–he could clearly tell what the couple was doing–yet he couldn’t capture clear images.
How could he not be agitated?
After Harper’s death, I fell seriously ill. After three days in the hospital, I was finally discharged at my own insistence. But something in me had changed–I smiled falsely at everyone I met, yet inside I felt nothing but emptiness.
I lost interest in everything and spoke less and less.
Betty and Alexander watched me with concern, unsure of what was wrong or how to help me.
“Maybe… we should take her to see a psychiatrist?” Alexander suggested quietly, thinking I couldn’t hear them from my bedroom.
I immediately burst out of my room, shouting, “I’m not sick! Don’t talk nonsense! I don’t need to go to the hospital!” My sudden outburst startled them into silence.
I had barely returned to my room and sat down when my phone rang. Looking at the number, I hesitated for several moments before finally answering.
“Mrs. Harding, if you’re calling to berate me, please hang up right now.”
Catherine laughed softly on the other end, her voice unusually gentle.
“Sophia, I’m actually calling to help you. To be honest, don’t you want this divorce finalized quickly? Well, I’ve thought of a perfect solution.”
