Chapter 218
At Vance Mansion, Sharon looked at her brothers and said, “I want to go out for a bit maybe walk around and do some shopping is that okay?” –
“Go ahead. I’ll call the Academy and let them know you’ll start a few days late,” Richard

said from the couch. He was still recovering the most injured of.
“No need. The leave’s already been filed,” Sharon replied, lips curving faintly. “Nicholas handled it.”
Richard’s temple twitched. He let out a cold snort.
‘That bastard’s really overstepping, huh. Since when did he become the one managing her schedule? What, I don’t exist? Or does he think Sharon wouldn’t get approved without him? Unbelievable.‘
He was more than a little annoyed. “I’ll go with you,” Richard offered.
With the injury keeping him grounded for a while, Richard figured he might as well keep her company.
Marvin scooted closer. “Hey, I’m free too. And all the hot spots.”
on,
I’ve got a reputation as a pro–level playboy for a reason. I know every brand, every new launch,
“Save it. You’ve got afternoon training,” Richard shot back without even looking at him.
“Richard, seriously, I’m good now. I just want to stretch my legs a bit.”
“You think you’re ready after a single morning workout? I could still take you down with one arm. Want to try me?”
Marvin immediately shut his mouth.
‘Unfair. He’s bullying his youngest brother.‘
Sharon smiled. “I’ll go alone. I’m just meeting a friend or two–if you come, it might make things awkward.”
She glanced carefully at Richard.
Truth was, she needed to go alone if she wanted to personally deal with the people behind all this.
Richard frowned. He didn’t love the idea–he’d wanted to go shopping with Sharon himself.
He didn’t know where the fun places were, sure, but that didn’t matter. He had money. That was enough. She could swipe the card all she wanted.
Before he could say more, his assistant rushed in and leaned close, voice low. “Sir, we’ve got news about the mastermind.”
Richard immediately sobered and looked back at Sharon. “Alright, but take extra people with you. Stay alert.”
“Got it,” she said, relieved she’d managed to get out the door.
Just as she was leaving, Richard called out and tossed her a card. “Here. Use this.”
“Mine too,” another brother said, handing one over.
“And mine! Here you go–don’t come back until you’ve maxed it out!”
In the blink of an eye, Sharon had eight credit cards in her hand. She couldn’t help laughing.
She waved them lightly. “Thanks. I’m off now. Good luck with your training.”
Marvin waved back with dramatic sorrow. ‘So unfair. I want to go shopping with her too… Her friends are so lucky.‘

The moment she left, Richard’s face changed. “We’ve got an update on the mastermind.
“Where is he?” Marvin asked sharply, his tone flipping in an instant. “I’ll break his damn neck myself.”
His gaze turned dark, sharp as a blade.
“But word is, he’s already vanished again,” Richard said, voice clipped. “The Baxter family’s been digging into it too. I’m heading over to see what exactly they’ve found.”
“I’ll come,” Marvin said, voice cold.
Richard shot him a look. “I’ll go. You stay here and keep training. I expect progress. When my arm heals, I’m taking you down one by one. If you don’t want to get humiliated, start putting in the work.”
Marvin swallowed hard.
‘He used to beat the crap out of me when I was a cocky teenager. No way I’m going through that again. Not with Shari watching. Gotta maintain my image–tall, strong, reliable big bro vibes only.
Once Sharon got into the car, her expression shifted.
She didn’t say anything–there was still a driver up front–but Joan knew exactly where they were headed.
Everything was already arranged. Everyone present was handpicked, loyal, and discreet.
The car headed straight to Atlantis Hotel.
The general manager was already waiting outside, punctual and polished. The moment he got word Sharon would be arriving, he had closed down operations to the public, rerouted all guests through private entrances, and cleared the lobby.
‘That’s what a professional looks like.‘
This hotel, after all, was the best in the area–especially with House of Obsidian’s new term starting. Many of the top families‘ heirs were staying here. Security and privacy were top–tier. No reporters could get within a mile.
Vivian and Lydia were staying here too. They had planned a was closed.
casual Breakfast and were already annoyed when hotel staff told them the main dining room
Then they found out the entire front entrance had been sealed off as well. Guests had to use side doors.
Furious, they demanded to know which “VIP guest” could possibly have this much pull. Who did the hotel think was so important that they’d disrupt the routines of their clients?
Then a sleek black car rolled up. The door opened. Sharon stepped out, face calm and cold, with Joan following behind.
The general manager’s previously stiff expression morphed into a full–on sunflower smile. He practically jogged ahead of her to lead the way.
Vivian and Lydia’s expressions darkened instantly.
Even Vivian, who’d tried to stay neutral, felt her patience snap. ‘Why the hell does Sharon get this kind of royal treatment?‘
