After seeing Jessica marry into a wealthy family, Sharon became even more unwilling to accept her own situation. As a result, she delayed her own prospects until now.
Utterly humiliated, Sharon flushed red but couldn’t come up with a single retort.
Not being wanted by a man was considered deeply shameful in this neighborhood–people would gossip behind your back.
With her hands on her hips, she declared, “I’ll marry a man even better than Jessica’s husband.”
The room instantly erupted in laughter. After all, Jessica’s husband was from the prestigious Hale family- everyone thought Sharon was simply daydreaming.
Because of this little episode, Sharon was in an even worse mood when she went to meet Amelia. She plopped down in her seat with a sour expression.
Amelia wasn’t wearing any makeup today, yet she still looked effortlessly stunning.
Sharon’s face twisted with envy. If only she had Amelia’s looks, she wouldn’t have to worry about finding a
man.
Amelia ordered two coffees and a dessert for Sharon. But the dessert was cheap, so Sharon didn’t appreciate the gesture at all.
“Amelia, if you want me to forgive you, you’ll have to give me 600,000 dollars. Otherwise, forget it.”
“Sharon, do you want to marry into the Hale family? Compared to 600,000 dollars, becoming a wealthy wife is a much brighter future. Otherwise, no matter how much money you make, people will always attack you for not having a man.”
Amelia knew exactly what Sharon cared about most, and she went straight for the jugular.
Sharon’s expression instantly changed as she clenched her fists.
Amelia threw out her next line like bait, and Sharon was the fish ready to bite.
“I can help you,” she drawled. “If Jessica could succeed, so can you. You’re her older sister, and honestly, you’re just as attractive.
“I saw Jessica recently, and you have no idea how disdainful she looked when she mentioned you. Do you really want to spend the rest of your life being overshadowed by her?”
Sharon’s face turned bright red. After a long moment, she managed to stammer out a question.
“Can you really help me?”
“I can help you win over Jessica’s husband,” Amelia whispered in Sharon’s ear. “If he could cheat on Jessica, why couldn’t he cheat with you?”
This was a thought Sharon had buried deep inside, but never dared to act on. Every time Jessica flaunted her expensive jewelry, the idea would swirl madly in Sharon’s mind.
Now that Amelia had brought it up, she seized on the idea without hesitation.

“Amelia, how can you be sure that Eric will fall for it?”
Eric was Jessica’s husband and Nolan’s father.

Amelia produced a small vial from her purse. “Ever heard of a honey trap? People in our circle love going to a place called Nocturne, and I can get you in.
“Spike Eric’s drink with this. By the time he wakes up and finds you beside him, it’ll be too late for regrets. Of course, you could just go all the way with him–after all, Eric has never been faithful. He’s had several lovers behind Jessica’s back.”
Jessica simply knew what to expose and what to keep hidden. After all, a man who cheats in marriage can. hardly resist temptation.
Jessica’s tact was what helped her maintain her position. With Nolan already grown and Calum watching closely, Eric wouldn’t dare let his affairs become public.
Thanks to Amelia’s persuasion, Sharon was elated. She quickly took the vial and slipped it into her bag.
“You’d better keep your word, Amelia.”
A smile crossed Amelia’s face as she stood up. “We can act tonight.”
Trying to suppress her excitement, Sharon took a deep breath and quavered, “Alright, I’ll wait for your
message.”
She left first, while Amelia stayed for another half an hour before finally getting up to leave.
But as she walked out, she unexpectedly ran into Jessica at the café entrance.
Jessica’s face darkened.
“Amelia?”
The two had already fallen out completely, so Amelia didn’t bother with pleasantries. She simply turned to
leave.
Enraged, Jessica shrieked, “Amelia, you’re about to marry Felix. Where’s your respect for me?”
“Didn’t that glass of cold wine sober you up?” Amelia turned around, her tone nonchalant.
“Who do you think you are to decide my marriage?”
The last time Jessica had been spoken to like this was when she was still Eric’s mistress. Once a person becomes successful, they naturally don’t want to recall their past–especially when it was so disgraceful.
But both times, Amelia’s defiance had struck right at Jessica’s sore spots.
“In a few days, you’ll find out whether I have the right to decide your marriage.”
“In a few days, you won’t have time to meddle in my marriage,” Amelia shot back with a smirk.
But Jessica failed to sense her implication. She snorted loudly and couldn’t be bothered to argue further.
After Amelia left, Jessica called Felix.
