Chapter 63 An Important Guest
Nate started unbuttoning Amelia’s clothes while speaking crudely. “Relax. It’ll only take ten minutes. Let me have a taste of you.”
Amelia had no strength to fight back. Blood was still trickling down her forehead.
By then. Nate had already torn open her shirt. He was about to touch her when a powerful kick suddenly sent him flying. He hit his back on a sharp corner, causing him to cough up blood immediately.
The door to the men’s restroom was already closed. Logan, who was dressed in black from head to toe, stood guard outside. He lit a cigarette and spoke to those wanting to use the washroom.
“Go somewhere else. I need to handle ‘some private business here.”
No one could afford to offend Logan, and his narrowed gaze made him look more intimidating than ever. After recognizing Logan, the others were so terrified that they quickly dragged their friends away.
Logan took a drag from his cigarette. He leaned against the wall before reminding Dylan, who was still inside the restroom. “You’re still undergoing rehab for your leg. Be careful.”
Dylan crouched beside Amelia as he gently stroked her forehead. Nate, the man he kicked earlier, had already blacked out.
Amelia’s head throbbed in pain. She instinctively nuzzled her head against Dylan’s palm.
“Can you stand?”
Amelia was barely conscious, so she had no idea who had saved her. All she noticed was his unusually pleasant scent. It reminded her of fresh snow in the mountains.
As Dylan lifted her up, she heard Logan asking, “Do you know how much danger you’d be in once others find out that you’re recovering from your leg injury?”
Amelia’s head rested against Dylan’s warm, solid chest. Despite being barely conscious, she realized her head was bleeding and tried to pull away. She did not want to stain his clothes.
But Dylan gently held her in place. His voice sounded cool yet tender. “It’s fine. Just lean on me.”
With his reassurance, Amelia let herself slip into unconsciousness. She was completely unaware of what happened next.
By the time Nolan and the department left their private room, they realized that the entire hotel had been cleared out. Since an important guest had arrived, several corridors were blocked off.
Nolan was slightly irritated. An important guest? Wasn’t everyone who came to this hotel important?
Meanwhile, Sophia seized the chance to flatter him. “Mr. Hale, could it be someone from your family?”
Nolan immediately thought of Dylan, who was notoriously aloof and rarely showed up in public. It probably wasn’t him.
Nolan snorted before glancing around. “Where’s Amelia?”
Malice flashed through Sophia’s eyes. Since Amelia had not returned, perhaps Nate really did drag her off to

sleep with her.
That sounded perfect. From now on, Amelia would be nothing but damaged goods. No man would ever want her.
Didn’t Amelia always use her looks to seduce other men? Well, that served her right!
Sophia smirked. “Amelia’s probably having a good time talking to the project leaders. After all, she managed to complete such a huge project.”
Her other colleagues burst into mocking laughter.
Nolan didn’t argue, but he stepped forward, intending to look for Amelia. However, Sophia grabbed his arm. “Mr. Hale, do you really care about Amelia?”
The question left him rooted to the spot. Nolan was used to Amelia pursuing him. Now that she was playing hard to get, how could he be the first to show he cared?
In the past, Nolan always made it clear to everyone that he would never fall for Amelia. If he went back on his word now, that would be so humiliating.
“I don’t care about her. I just want to go home. This way’s blocked, right? I’ll go the other way. You guys should go home too.”
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief. She was relieved that he didn’t care.
Amelia deserved her punishment. Even Nolan couldn’t care less whether she was alright. Poor Amelia!
When Amelia woke up, the sunlight was almost blinding. She sat up in the bed and looked around at the unfamiliar decor.
Amelia reached out to touch her forehead and realized that it hurt. A bandage was wrapped around her head.
The spacious bedroom exuded understated luxury in every detail.
Suddenly, Amelia recalled seeing Dylan before passing out. She looked up and noticed him at the door.
He was still in his wheelchair. He held a bowl of oatmeal as he slowly wheeled himself toward Amelia. Finally, he set the bowl on the nightstand.
“Feeling better?”
It would be a lie for Amelia to say she wasn’t moved. Last night, she really thought she was done for.
“Much better. Mr. Hale, is your leg okay?”
Even though her mind had been foggy, she recalled seeing Dylan kicking that man. His leg was still recovering. She would never forgive herself if that would affect his recovery.
“I’m fine.” Dylan picked up the bowl of oatmeal and placed it before Amelia.
Amelia was taken aback by his gesture. Nevertheless, she quickly accepted the bowl with both hands.
Dylan turned away before speaking calmly. “Get some rest. There’s no need for you to report for work today.”
