Chapter 58 A Festive Celebration
Nolan was so angry that he took Milly back to Solandis right away.
When Milly returned to the Summers family home, she was greeted by a joyous atmosphere.
She was surprised. “Dad, Mom, what’s going on?”
James and Celia both sat on the couch. They had a proud and happy face.
“You silly child. The higher–ups have been calling your father nonstop. The fruit farmers have sent you a banner to say thank you. I bet we’ll hear that we won the bid soon. Come, sit down. You’ve lost weight in the last few days,” Celia said.
Milly was surprised. Weren’t those fruit farmers furious with her and almost hated her when she left?
Could it be that the two million dollars made them reflect and now they want to make amends?
There was a hint of disdain in her eyes. She didn’t care about a cheap banner that you could buy online for a few dollars. But she accepted the praise because her family was so happy.
“No, they were still mad when I left. They might have changed their minds after I left and sent the banner. Dad, as long as I can help the company, I’m not tired at all.”
Celia smiled. “All of the other ladies I had tea with this evening talked about you. Milly, the Agricultural Aid project isn’t as easy as it looks. I heard that a big change is coming to Willow District.
“Tourism is just the start. Many companies have their eyes on it. The Hale family, the Chase family, and the Reed family all want a share. Agricultural aid is closely tied to this project. Your father and I just found out. The other ladies are so envious.”
Willow District was working on other things that were news to Milly. That’s why Dylan went there in person.
If the higher–ups called to praise her, would Dylan see her in a new light?
Milly smiled to herself. She was set on winning Dylan over.
Soon, James’s phone rang again.
“James, why aren’t you in Willow District yet? Several important people have come, and your daughter is one of them. I saw her name on the list. The reporters have also been invited, and the local papers will print this interview. Your business will definitely benefit from all this. What are you doing just sitting there? Get going now!”
James’s face lit up with excitement. He stood up right away and looked at Milly. “Come with me to Willow District for an interview. It’s all because of you this time.”
Celia hugged Milly’s shoulders, thrilled. “I must have done something wonderful in my past life to h.. such a good daughter.”
“Congratulations, Milly!”
Milly was still in a daze. She had just returned from Willow District, and now she had to go back. She felt a bit impatient, but when she thought about everyone praising her, she decided it was worth it.
Amelia had just gotten up when she heard noises outside. She was still running a fever and had lost 5kg.

As she stepped out, Nemi came running over, grabbing her hand along excitedly. “Hurry, hurry! There are so many fruit farmers outside looking for you, they want to give you a banner!”
Amelia was surprised. A banner?
She was taken to the entrance of the hotel, where a lot of people were waiting. There were a few young men at the front. Everyone’s face lit up with excitement, like it was New Year’s.
Amelia was still a little confused when some confetti cannons went off in the air.
“Amelia, this is from all of us. You must accept it, we’ve all signed it.”
“We heard that a big investor wants to build something on this land. A lot of our families‘ fand has been picked. You’re always welcome on our land in Willow District, free of charge!”
“Yes, my family’s land was chosen as well. This morning, we’re talking about the price. The investor’s assistant said you did it all. Because of you, they decided to look into Willow District. You’re our lucky start
Amelia looked at the bright red banner, still reeling from the shock.
It wasn’t until the young men handed her the banner that a wave of warmth surged in her heart. Amelia was about to say something when the sound of cars approaching caught her attention. A luxury car pulled up behind the crowd, and James stepped out.
At the same time, several government vehicles arrived. They were all here to meet Amelia and Dylan.
There were 12 men in suits who got out of the car, and one of them was the one who had called James to Willow District.
That person hurried over to James, grinning. “James, you got here fast! You have a wonderful daughter.”
James was dressed in a suit. He looked like a successful businessman. The two groups greeted each other like they had known each other for a long time.
James nudged Milly beside him. “Here is my daughter. I just wanted to give her some experience this time. Not that I expected much, but she did great.”
“Don’t be so humble! She did more than well. I want to tell you that someone capable has come out of Willow District. They had always wanted to do something good for Greenvale, but Sienna Valley wouldn’t let them since they’ve been fighting for a long time. Now that Greenvale is famous, the balance has been “broken.”
