Chapter 56 Black Sheep.
It was Amelia again!
James was furious. He had thought it was Milly’s incompetence, but it turned out Amelia was involved again.
He remembered that Amelia also went to Sienna Valley. She probably saw that Milly was doing well and decided to cause trouble, which made the fruit farmers unhappy. So they held Milly responsible.
Milly was taking the blame for Amelia.
James had never liked getting involved in Amelia’s business before. It had been just childish competition and small fights.
But the company’s interests were at stake. James couldn’t look away anymore. He called Amelia right away
Amelia had blocked both Celia and Alexander the last time, but she forgot to block James.
Amelia was shocked when she saw his name flash on the screen. She answered, and James‘ voice came through.
“Amelia, what do you think you’re doing?” His tone was accusatory.
“Do you need something?”
“Yes! What were you doing that got you in trouble in Sienna Valley? Those fruit farmers are now all around Milly’s car. They’re taking it out on her because they can’t find you. I didn’t care how you treated me before, but this time, Milly was there for the company.
“The company can only bid on the tourism development if the Agricultural Aid project succeeds. Are you going to let your little tantrum hurt the whole Summers family?”
Amelia found it amusing and couldn’t be bothered to explain. She simply hung up.
She couldn’t ignore the pain in her chest; she would have probably cried by now if she hadn’t lost her
memory.
She blocked James’s number as well.
James tried to call again, but when he realized he’d been blocked, he angrily tossed his phone onto the coffee table.
“She blocked my number! She’s getting more and more out of hand. Does she want to cut ties with the Summers family for good?”
Alexander was playing a game nearby. He knew who James was talking about and quickly chimed in.
“Dad, did Amelia block you as well?”
James‘ expression was grim. He turned to the person beside him and instructed, “Freeze her card.”
“Mr. Summers, Ms. Amelia’s card was frozen long ago.”
James stiffened. Amelia loved spending. If her card had been frozen for a while, why hadn’t she come back?
Was Milly helping her in secret again?

Chapter 56 Black Sheep
He rubbed his forehead and took a deep breath. His eyes showed disgust.
“Forget it. From now on, let’s just pretend we don’t have this daughter. We won’t participate in tourism development in Sienna Valley. Have Milly come back. Her safety is the most important thing
But just as he was done talking, someone called him and praised him.
“James, your daughter is amazing! She sold all those apples, which were worth almost 20 thousand dollars. This tourism project is on its way to you. You better be ready!”
James was shocked. Didn’t the last person who called say that everything was a mess?
“Didn’t the Agricultural Aid project fail?”
“Who said it failed? All the fruit farmers are signing a petition, and they want to honor your daughter with a banner. She’s amazing! I heard that the banner had already been made and that all the fruit farmers in the village have signed it. That’s a big deal.”
A banner with the signatures of everyone in the village meant a lot. James‘ face showed a hint of pride. “My daughter’s talented. When she started her internship at the company, she was already impressive. I thought she had messed up this time, but I didn’t expect things to change like this.”
“Hey, James, I’m letting you know secretly. The higher–ups are pleased with her skills. She has also helped make the local apples famous. You should call her to tell her how good she did.”
“Of course.”
James‘ face was beaming. After hanging up, he sighed. “Alexander, you should learn from your Milly. She’s only been in Sienna Valley for a week, and the higher–ups are already calling to praise her.”
Alexander pouted. “That’s not a surprise. I know Milly will do well no matter what she does.”
James smiled. With Milly and Alexander managing the company together in the future, he could finally step back and relax as a father.
He transferred eight million to Milly’s card as pocket money, telling her to buy something nice. When Milly received the transfer notification, she was a bit surprised, then a smile curled on her lips.
It seemed Amelia had taken the blame for her again. Serves her right.
She looked at the fruit farmers outside and felt a sense of disgust. These country bumpkins couldn’t make eight million dollars in their lifetimes so why did they have the right to block her car? She was being too nice to them.
She called security and instructed them to disperse the crowd.
But the people of Sienna Valley were used to being wild and brave. They wouldn’t tolerate being treated this way. They began fighting with the security guards immediately. Someone even took a stick and hit the car with it, breaking the window.
Milly realized that these people were just a bunch of troublemakers. It was impossible to talk to them.
