Chapter 197
They stared at each other for a few seconds before Sharon spoke calmly, “Looking for someone, beauty?”
“… I’m here for you,” Owen stammered, unnerved by her composure. He brandished his knife. “See this? Murder weapon. Your doom.
“Yeah.”
“What do you mean? You mocking me? Laughing at my disguise?”
Sharon was speechless, thinking, ‘Is this idiot for real? This is Cameron’s so–called assassin? Since when did the Hunter Forum’s standards drop this low? Sending this idiot out would tarnish the Hunter Forum’s reputation–my reputation!‘
Narrowing her eyes, she said, “Consider a career change. Assassin isn’t your calling.”
Owen bristled. “You’re disrespecting me. You’re about to die and still acting tough, huh? Do you know the Hunter Forum? Just saying the name should scare you shitless.”
Sharon, the boss of the Hunter Forum, sighed. She massaged her temples and crooked a finger. “Come here. I’ll tell you something.”
“Listen, there are rules in this business. No amount of money can buy me.” Owen leaned in suspiciously, “Uh, unless it’s a big sum of money–Ah!”
Sharon promptly dragged him into the stall and beat the crap out of him. Then she felt much better.
Hearing the screams, Joan rushed in. “Ms. Vance, what happened?” She had known that creep was trouble.
“Nothing. Just giving someone career advice.” Sharon dusted her hands off, looking utterly relaxed.
Joan peeked behind her. The assassin now sat slumped on the toilet, makeup smeared, eyes swollen.
Owen sniffled. “S–so what should I do instead?”
“Food delivery. It suits you perfectly.” Sharon was helpless. She had to remind Cameron never to send such idiots to tasks again.
Noticing the knife on the floor, Joan gasped, “Ms. Vance, is he… an assassin?”
“Yeah.” Sharon nodded.
Joan frowned, “Are you alright? I’m calling the police.”
“Don’t.” Sharon hesitated. Having her employee arrested was too humiliating. “Let’s go back to dinner.”
Joan shot the pathetic man one last glare. “You got lucky.”
Owen was on the verge of tears. He thought, ‘Jobs are so hard to come by these days. This mission failed, but there’ll be others. I’ll succeed eventually!‘
However, when he opened the Hunter Forum app, his account was banned. Panicking, he messaged the admin: [What the hell? Why did you ban me?]
The admin: [Boss‘ orders. Your skills aren’t up to standard. You’re an embarrassment to our brand. Go back and train harder.]
Owen: [Wait! I’ve got bills to pay.]
He didn’t complete the job, and now he had lost his work too.
Meanwhile, Cooper found the task failed, He stared at his screen in disbelief and furiously contacted the admin: [What kind of scam is this? I paid good money for a half–day failure?]

The admin: [Dear customer, the target was misclassified. Not F–level at all. If you wish to continue, an additional payment is required]
Cooper: [Additional payment? You couldn’t even handle that runt? Pathetic for a ‘top–tier‘ organization!]
The admin: [Poor darling, your budget doesn’t even cover the deposit. Maybe don’t play assassin games if you can’t afford the premium package.
Cooper: [You mocking me? I want a refund. I’ll report you!]
The admin was amused. [Sir, everyone plays by the forum rules. If you want to complain, feel free. Just a friendly reminder. Our collection team might come by for a little late–night chat soon. Have a nice day.]
Cooper paled. He thought, ‘Damn it! That’s a threat. Mess with the Hunter Forum, and I might not see sunrise.’
Broke, humiliated, and now fearing an assassination, Cooper turned livid with rage.
He cursed in his mind, ‘Scam artists. Give me back my money!‘
