Jannie thought, ‘Shari totally wrecked that scumbag! Now everyone will remember how Shadow crushed him in front of thousands. So damn satisfying!”
Joan was equally starstruck. Her idol had been right beside her all along.
Sharon, however, remained calm. Her gaze dropped to the game interface, where a match request notification blinked. She was surprised, thinking, ‘Deer? My old partner!‘
She was just about to accept when Deer went offline. Her finger hovered. She thought, ‘Well, I’ll invite Deer next time.’
Another private message popped up: [Hello, Shadow, I’m NovaCore’s manager. Your performance tonight was exceptional. Would you consider joining NovaCore? We can work out great terms.]
Sharon blinked in surprise. She thought, ‘NovaCore? Isn’t that scumbag’s team?‘
A smirk curled her lips as she typed: [Kick the bastard first. Then we’ll talk.]
After all, she always protected her own. Jose had betrayed Jannie, then even mocked Jannie with his new fling.
The manager: [Let me discuss this. Could you share your contact info?]
-Sharon replied with her phone number before logging off. She updated the group chat: [NovaCore’s manager just reached out.]
Riley: [Shari, they’re trying to recruit you?]
Jannie: [Shari, that’s the bastard’s team. If you join, just crush him.]
Sharon: [No. I told the manager to kick the bastard out first, then I’ll consider it.]

Brent groaned. “Nick, of all times to answer your phone! Shadow literally just logged off!” He had been desperate for a match with Shadow.
Nicholas glanced at the stream replay. When the in–game ID flashed on screen, he frowned, “That streamer goes to our academy?”
Brent nodded. “Yeah, he is last year’s freshman, a member of the student council. He started a gaming club. Serves him right getting styled on by Shadow.”
“Wasting time on frivolous hobbies,” Nicholas muttered.
Brent smirked. “Wonder if Sharon games? You could carry her ranks.”
Nicholas raised an eyebrow. “Not a bad idea.”
He thought, ‘If my fiancée wanted to play, I’d gladly escort her to the top.’
“Oh, now it’s not frivolous?” Brent rolled his eyes. “Who called it ‘frivolous hobbies‘ just now?”
Nicholas chuckled, “Silence, single peasant.”
Brent clutched his chest dramatically, looking so broken.
