Chapter 50 A Heartfelt Gesture
Dylan turned around and looked at him with an icy gaze. “Or did you sleep with Milly and still can’t let go of Amelia, who has always been good to you?”
Amelia had always done everything for Nolan. A man would be proud to have such a beautiful woman who loves him.
Nolan was surprised by the blunt words. “I just…”
“Don’t go near her again. You don’t deserve to stay by her side.”
Dylan wasn’t a very talkative person, and he didn’t get along with the rest of the Hale family either. He hadn’t gotten a call from home in the last two years, especially after the car accident.
Even after returning recently, he hadn’t participated in any family events.
Nolan was the younger one, so he had always felt nervous around Dylan. But Dylan had never spoken to him like this before.
Nolan felt a wave of discomfort rush over him, so he didn’t dare to argue. His hand, hanging at his side, slowly clenched into a fist.
Was he not worthy of Amelia, or was it that Amelia wasn’t worthy of him? After all, everyone knew Amelia had always chased after him.
When he returned to Milly’s room, he found her already dressed and about to start her livestream.
Milly didn’t even bother to look at the orchard. It was far away, there was no air conditioning, and mosquitoes were abundant at night. She didn’t want to go through that. So, she constantly streamed from the guesthouse’s most luxurious room.
When Milly saw him come in, she quickly asked, “Nolan, have you seen Amelia? I heard that the fruit farmers don’t want to work with her because her prices are too high. Won’t it hurt Hale Corporations‘ reputation if she can’t fill orders worth more than 4000 dollars?”
Nolan sounded impatient. “She only took on the Agricultural Aid project to compete with you. If things have come to this, she brought it upon herself. She should have known her limits.”
Milly was already seated in front of the camera, though the stream hadn’t started yet. “Nolan, do you think Dylan will fire Amelia because of this?”
Nolan didn’t know. He remembered that Dylan and Amelia were staying in rooms across from each other, and the thought made him even more uneasy.
Why did they have to stay across from each other when there were so many VIP rooms available?
Nolan also remembered that Amelia was to blame for Dylan’s accident. Would Dylan have let anyone else off so easily?
Nolan had never liked his cold, distant uncle, and now he was even more annoyed. Could Dylan be interested in Amelia?
Nolan didn’t want to be with her, but he also didn’t want to see her with someone he didn’t like.
Lost in thought, he heard Milly ask, “Nolan, Amelia’s really putting on a show this time. If you go soft just

because she blocked you, she’ll probably use this trick on you again and again.
“I won’t give in. I only went to see her because you told me to, but she wasn’t even there. She probably got scared off by the 4000 dollars worth of orders and ran back to Solandis the next day?
“That’s just like her. The smallest setback can crush her. Honestly, I wish she’d stay here for a few more days to toughen up. Otherwise, how will she ever have a good reputation in the company?” Though Milly sounded concerned for Amelia, every word was belittling her.
Nolan put his hands on Milly’s shoulders. “Don’t worry about her. You’re her little sister. You’re almost done with the things you need to do for the Agricultural Aid project. Three more days, and I’ll buy you a sports car when we get back to Solandis.”
“Really? Thank you, Nolan!”
While the two of them were wrapped up in their sweet moment, Amelia had been working nonstop all night.
She’d sprained her knee several times, and the whole village pitched in. It wasn’t until 2:00 pm that all the orders were finally packed.
Altogether, it was over 4000 dollars worth of orders, meaning she’d sold 19,000kg of apples in just one night.
Amelia was starving, dizzy from hunger.
A few young people approached her and looked at her with respect. “Amelia, you’re the best! You sold 19,000 kg in one night. You must be hungry, right? Food will be here soon!”
Greenvale didn’t have as many extra apples as Sienna Valley did. There were only about 20,000 kg left at most. So, in just one night, she had sold almost half of their stock.
At first, the fruit farmers were wary of her, but after seeing how hard she worked, they became much more friendly.
When Amelia saw the food they brought, she noticed several bowls of tender oxtail, while the others ate /simple boxed meals.
One of the young men brought oxtail to her and Nemi. “Thanks for all the hard work. We began cooking these last night. Take it easy and get your strength back.”
Nemi was nearly moved to tears. Back in Sienna Valley, even after doing good deeds, they’d been blamed and almost beaten.
However, here in Greenvale, even though the people seemed unfriendly at first, once the misunderstanding was cleared up, everyone was friendly towards them.
Nemi dug in and ate a lot. Amelia also ate a small bowl of oxtail stew. Ultimately, it was a kind thing She couldn’t let it go to waste.
