Chapter 41 An Inflamed Injury
Amelia laughed and found it amusing.
“All Milly had in mind för Sienna Valley was short–term interests. Since it has nothing to do with her, she isn’t concerned about the reputation of the apples from Sienna Valley. Her only goals are to enhance the Summers Group’s reputation and secure favorable conditions from the government for future tourism initiatives. She will not give a damn about the future of Sienna Valley after her livestream ends.
“All you’re doing is slandering her! Ms. Milly is a good person.”
Amelia smiled slightly and said sarcastically, “I have nothing more to say. Do as you like.”
She had barely finished when a number of fruit farmers, each wielding a broom and wearing furious expressions, hurried over.
“Amelia, you insisted on selling for more than 90 cents per kilogram, even though we all agreed to sell for 60 cents! Ms. Milly was correct. It’s you who is attempting to damage our apples‘ reputation.”
“You have no right to discuss Ms. Milly! She is far superior–to–you by a thousand, no, two thousand times.
Amelia watched the fury on everyone’s faces as she stood by the car, as though she had done something that could never be forgiven.
All of a sudden, she thought it was useless. A fruit farmer grabbed her wrist as she opened the car door to get inside.
“We purposefully kept the partnership’s cancellation a secret from you, Amelia. Let’s see how you communicate this to your customers now that you are unable to fulfill over 4,000 orders! You intended to improve the standing of your business by raising the price of our apples.”
“Keep dreaming! To sell more for less money, Ms. Milly had the insight to propose cutting the price by ten cents. In private, she even offered us additional compensation. You’re just a poisonous woman, but she’s like an angel!”
Nemi was trembling with rage when she heard this. She questioned whether these folks were in their right minds. Amelia, is raising the cost? However, Amelia didn’t receive any money from the sales. The fruit farmers got all of it, and now they were accusing her!
And now that everyone had banded together against Amelia, she was held responsible for everything. To prevent those apples from rotting on the trees, she went live with an injury and didn’t sleep at all the -previous night.
It was simply so unjust.
Nemi couldn’t speak. She wanted to cry as she listened to their ever more ludicrous accusations.

Amelia, however, just opened the car door and climbed inside. “Get in, Nemi.”
Nemi got into the car with tears welling in her eyes.
As though they had just chased some bad luck away, the fruit farmers cheered and waved their brooms.
Nemi nearly had a heart attack when she saw this scene through the rearview mirror. She started crying uncontrollably.

Chapter 41 An Inflamed Injury
The middle–aged man driving ahead, who had been up all night, clutched the steering wheel and began to
cry as well.
In this case, anyone would feel hurt because a sincere attempt was disregarded and even held accountable for actions they did not take.
Amelia felt a little powerless as she sat by the window, listening to the two of them cry and taking in the passing scenery.
“Stop crying,” Amelia said.
Nemi was crying uncontrollably and using tissues to blow her nose.
“We’re simply angry. Never in my life have I been so wronged. I’m furious. Milly is terrible. Was your life with the Summers family like this, Amelia? Without ever weighing right against wrong, everyone always takes her side. I can now finally see why you have such a poor reputation.
Amelia was at a loss for words. Although she had to acknowledge that she had made mistakes as well, life in the Summers family had always been like this. She had reached this point because she had been too eager to please.
After closing her eyes, she felt a gentle tug on her sleeve.
Tears filled Nemi’s voice. “You have inflammation on your leg. Does it hurt a lot?”
“It’s not that horrible. You two need to stop crying. There is still hope. When we return to the guest house, I’ll have time to consider the situation. There’s always a way.”
After a few more sniffles, Nemi eventually stopped.
To finally get rid of the smell of the rain, Amelia made herself take a shower and washed her hair when she got back to the guest house.
Her knee, however, appeared even worse. She heard a knock at the door just as she was ready to request a first aid kit from the front desk.
When she opened it, she saw a figure standing outside wearing a white coat.
“Ms. Summers, I was asked to check on your leg by Mr. Hale.”
Mr. Hale?
Since she got back, she had not seen Dylan last night. How was he aware of her injuries?
She looked past the doctor to the door on the other side, but it was closed and she couldn’t see anything. She hobbled over to the bed and took a seat. After bringing over a sizable medical kit and donning gloves, the doctor started tending to her wound.
Her face became even paler when the pebbles that had been embedded in her flesh were taken out.
Amelia’s furrowed brows did not loosen until the doctor had finished administering the medication. Sweat was streaming down her forehead.
The doctor gave her some feyer medication. “Take this. You’re feverish.”
