Chapter 169
It was pitch–black that night, and the situation was total chaos. Solar Flare’s voice was angry, almost furious. But then again, he didn’t think he’d comf heard Sharon yelling. She always spoke softly and slowly like a kitten.
“Nick? Nick? What are you daydreaming about?” Brent rubbed his chin, wondering what was going on in Nicholas‘ head to make hint zone out like that.
Nicholas coughed. “Anyway, she’s female. Focus on the girls‘ group, check their files, and see if anyone’s been replaced.”
“Got it,” Brent replied cheerfully, then suddenly asked, “Wait, Nick, what did you actually come to the library for?”
Nicholas gave him a cold stare. “None of your business.” After brushing him off, Nicholas headed straight to the library.
Watching his tall figure, Brent felt something was off. He took out his phone and called a junior, Holly Grant, who’d once worked a library part–time. “Holly, do me a favor. I’ll treat you to lunch when school starts.”
Holly asked, “What kind of favor?“.
“Can you look up someone’s student ID? See what books they borrowed.”
Brent didn’t say whose ID he was asking about. If he did, it’d leak instantly. The story about Nicholas donating blood was still trending if anything else got out, Nicholas might actually kill him. He was just curious, innocently curious.
Back in his dorm, Brent had just taken a sip of water when his phone dinged with Holly’s reply. He scanned the book titles and spat water all over his
screen.
“Are you kidding me?!” he shouted.
A roommate immediately poked his head in. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing. Just some seventy–year–old lady in my village had a baby.” Brent grabbed a tissue to clean up, then stared at the library record in shock.
The titles were The Complete Guide to Girls‘ Periods, What Teens Should Know About Periods, Why Do Girls Get Periods…
Brent felt like the world had gone surreal. Either Nicholas‘ account had been hacked or maybe… But who in their right mind would dare hack Nicholas‘ account? That would be a death wish.
Which left only one plausible truth–Nicholas secretly wanted to be a girl? Brent wondered, ‘Is there a cute, girly heart hidden beneath that aloof
exterior?‘
Brent’s mind involuntarily conjured a female version of Nicholas, and he shuddered. No, no, that mental image was too horrifying.
Then he snapped back to reality, thinking of Sharon. ‘Oh, so this is about Sharon. Men in love are so damn dramatic!‘ he thought.
Brent was stunned, ready to turn on his computer and fire up a game. He thought, ‘That’s what real men do.‘
But the next second, he received a photo of a girl from Ernie. He pondered, suddenly realizing he’d skipped his own physiology class too.
He thought, ‘Maybe I should learn this in advance.‘ What if he ended up with a fiancée someday and embarrassed himself like Nicholas? He didn’t want to make a fool of himself.
With newfound determination, Brent shut down his computer and secretly downloaded the PDFS of all those books that Nicholas had borrowed onto his phone. Knowledge is power, after all.
The next day, as a “sick student,” Sharon didn’t attend the training, but by rule, she had to be present.

Chapter 169
Wearing a short–sleeved shirt and pants, she shuffled to the sports field. By the time she arrived, the training had already started.
The group was running laps, deep in their
workout.
She immediately spotted Nicholas, whose tall, upright figure was impossible to miss–especially when he spoke sharply, his tone commanding. But he also looked fiercely strict.
Over the past few days, many girls in the group had probably shattered their fantasies about Nicholas. Handsome and commanding as he was, his strictness was overwhelming.
Sharon watched for a moment until Nicholas suddenly turned his head, and their eyes met. She quickly looked away and headed toward the rest area, where a shaded pavilion was set up for students on leave.
The moment she arrived, some girls made their dislike clear.
“Some people are sure lucky,” one scoffed. “They ignore academy rules because of their connections and show up late.”
“Exactly! We all got excused, but we had to be here on time. Guess some people get special treatment.”
“What do you expect? She’s someone’s fiancée. We can’t compare.”
Their words were loaded with sarcasm, aimed straight at Sharon.
She gave them a cold look, thinking, ‘So childish.‘
One girl huffed, “What are you staring at?”
Sharon replied flatly, “I guess I’m just lucky. I can’t help it.” “If you don’t like it, too bad,‘ she thought.
“You…” The girl turned red with anger, taken aback by Sharon’s bluntness.
Before she could respond, another girl tugged her arm and nodded toward the entrance. A tall figure had just stepped into the rest area.
Nicholas‘ expression was as stern as ever. Despite the heat, he wore his black uniform buttoned all the way to the collar, exuding an air of rigid discipline. Beneath that honor–student handsomeness was a strong air of austerity.
Good–looking people always stood out, and Nicholas was no exception. His sudden arrival silenced the rest area
The girls who’d been picking on Sharon instantly paled, instinctively glancing at Sharon, wondering, ‘Will she complain about what we said to her?‘
