Chapter 164
Nicholas strode into the infirmary.
His features were handsome, and his posture was tall and imposing. Fresh from training, Nicholas exuded masculine energy, transforming him from calm heartthrob into a hunky guy.
Nicholas went straight to the bed where Sharon was resting. He gently lifted the curtain and saw her still asleep, holding his phone with a scene from a
TV drama halted on the screen.
He quietly closed the curtain, not ready to disturb Sharon’s sleep. He checked the time–mealtime was approaching–and wondered when Wendy would send Sharon’s specially prepared meal.
Suddenly, an argument broke out in the infirmary.
“Why won’t you issue a certificate? I’m really on my period.”
“You know better than anyone whether you’re on it or not. Be honest.”
“That’s none of your business.”
Nicholas frowned deeply and marched over, and the noise outside fell silent immediately.
Lydia’s eyes lit up. “Nicholas.”
“What’s the commotion about?” he asked with a trace of impatience, but Lydia thought Nicholas was paying attention to her.
She quickly said, “A girl in our team wants to take leave for her period, but Ms. Childe says she needs a certificate from the infirmary, and they’re not giving it.”
Laura said calmly, “I can tell she’s not on her period.”
“You didn’t even check. How do you know? Besides, it’s private.” Lydia said.
Nicholas frowned and said, “Shut up. Don’t argue in the infirmary. Take the argument outside if you have to.”
Lydia felt humiliated by the rebuke. She said reluctantly, “Why can Sharon take leave but we can’t? Mr. Baxter, you’re being too biased.”
Nicholas stopped, turned his head, and said coldly, “This doctor is seconded from the House of Obsidian. Any lie can’t hide from her.”
Lydia froze instantly. She hadn’t expected this young woman to be a doctor seconded from the House of Obsidian.
Laura smiled sarcastically and said, “What’s wrong? Do you have another illness you want to get checked?”
“You’re the sick one,” Lydia said awkwardly and turned to leave directly. The other girls who wanted to take leave, their deception exposed, were left with blushing faces.
Nicholas returned to Sharon’s bed and found her pulling the curtain open.
“What happened outside?” Sharon had just woken up, her voice soft and nasal. She looked small and adorable.
Nicholas was taken aback for a moment, then said, “Nothing. Just some unimportant people.” Then he asked, “Are you hungry?”
“I’m not hungry,” Sharon said.
Nicholas was silent for a moment, then continued, “Want some sweets?”
Sharon became a little more awake. Just as she was about to answer, the phone vibrated with an incoming call.

She handed him the phone and said, “Wendy called in the afternoon, and I answered
Nodding, Nicholas remained calm and looked down to see that the caller was Wendy.
“Nicholas, the soup has been delivered to the academy. Can you come and pick it up?” Wendy said.
“Okay, right away.” Nicholas finally relaxed, always feeling that at this moment, Sharon was delicate and helpless, like a fragile porcelain doll.
“I’m going out for a while.” Nicholas took a step, then came back and handed her the phone, saying, “Keep playing with this.”
Sharon watched him leave blankly, then smiled helplessly while holding the black phone. She wanted her own phone more.
She glanced at the House of Obsidian app on the screen and looked away. She wasn’t someone who casually snooped on others‘ privacy.
Anyway, she would find out after this month.
Nicholas took the school bus directly outside the academy and
ww that Wendy was also there. He got off the bus and walked over.
The next moment, a row of luxury cars appeared behind Wendy, and a group of handsome men with the same looks got out.
Sharon’s eight brothers got out of the cars at the same time and walked towards the school gate.
Nicholas was taken aback. He thought, ‘Why did they co
