Chapter 161
Nicholas froze for a long moment, feeling awkward for the first time.
He regretted skipping physiology class to play basketball–maybe he should review the lessons now.
Since periods came monthly, Sharon suffered like this every month. Nicholas felt an unexpected ache in his heart.
The handsome man stood by the tampon shelf, focusing intently as if choosing a diamond ring.
Peeking girls nearby gasped in shock, covering their mouths to exclaim, “Oh my god, is Mr. Baxter buying tampons for Sharon?”
“He carried her away when she got her period, heard that.”
“Who knew Mr. Baxter could be so sweet? He’s adorable.”
“I’m so jealous of Sharon.”
Some secretly took photos and shared them in group chats, shocking freshmen–the cold Nicholas was actually this caring.
Even his serious expression while picking up tampons looked kind of cute.
Girls outside buzzed with excitement, but Nicholas was all business, even pulling out his phone to search best tampon brands. Sharon deserved only the
best.
“You buying tampons, young man?” A uniformed auntie approached, thrilled. “Let me help–this brand’s super soft. Feel it.”
The saleswoman took out a sample and opened it for him. Nicholas was confused. He thought, ‘Weren’t these too personal to touch?‘
Another saleswoman rushed over. “Girlfriend needs tampons? Such a thoughtful guy. Try this one–it’s amazing.”
Both crowded around him, boldly promoting their products.
Nicholas blushed slightly but kept his stoic face, eventually leaving with a huge bag of tampons.
As he exited, curious girls swarmed up. Lydia glared at the bag, furious that the rumors were true–Nicholas was this good to Sharon.
She rushed over. “Mr. Baxter.”
He paused, glanced at her, and said nothing.
“You bought so many tampons. My period’s coming too. Can you spare a pack?” Lydia asked in an artificial tone.
Nicholas replied coldly, “No.” These were all for Sharon; he wouldn’t give any away.
Lydia’s face fell, and she stamped her foot as he walked off. She thought, ‘What’s so special about Sharon? Nicholas refused to allow anyone to ask for a leave before–what’s this now?‘
Vivian strolled over. “Rejected, huh?”
“None of your business,” Lydia snapped, storming off. Vivian watched Nicholas go, her expression softening
She’d thought all men were like her brother and father, but Nicholas was differe
hers.
She was interested in him before, and now she would make that man
Nicholas marched back to the infirmary, carrying the massive tampon bag.

Chapter 161
Nurses were stunned. Sharon might not need tampons for a year. Laura’s prank was brilliant.
Laura smiled. “Got them?”
Nicholas grunted, striding to Sharon’s curtain, gently pulling it back to find her awake.
She blushed at the bag in his hand, touched he’d bought them himself.
Neither spoke since they were unsure where to start.
Laura intervened. “Sharon, we have patient gowns–change into one first.”
“Okay.” She tried to sit up, but strong arms lifted her. “I’ll carry you,” Nicholas said.
“I don’t need-” Sharon said.
“Stay still.” He didn’t let her refuse, gently carrying her to the restroom, placing the bag beside her. “I’ll wait outside.”
She blushed, then froze–his white shirt sleeve was stained with blood.
