Chapter 159
Chapter 159
That morning, when Nicholas saw Sharon looking unwell, he should have let her take leave. Now he regretted it deeply.
As he’d rushed toward her, he’d seen the blood and smelled the metallic scent on her. His expression had been terrifyingly deni
Sharon felt awkward, unsure how to explain. She couldn’t believe someone might not recognize period blood
Nicholas stormed out of the academy, carrying her in his arms. Frowning fiercely, he ignored all attempts to stop him.
Margaret rushed up. “Mr. Baxter, where are you taking her?”
“To the hospital,” he snapped.
“She doesn’t need to go there,” Margaret said.
“She’s injured,” he said coldly.
Margaret froze, lost for words. Caesar popped up, stunned. “No way. You don’t know what this is?”
Nicholas glared, annoyed. “Get out of my way.”
“I really don’t need a hospital,” Sharon whispered, blushing with shame at the spectacle.
Nicholas ignored her, convinced injuries required medical care.
Caesar grinned. “She just needs sweets and rest for this.”
Nicholas paused–Caesar’s words matched Marvin’s. He couldn’t fathom a “disease” cured by desserts.
Margaret sighed. “It’s her period.”

In the infirmary, Nicholas stormed in and startled the on–duty doctor.
His furious expression looked more like a robber’s than a patient’s.
But everyone knew Nicholas. The doctor approached, “Is a freshman hurt?”
Nicholas held a girl wrapped tightly in his black uniform, guarding her like a treasure.
Even when the doctor tried to examine her, Nicholas blocked him. He carried Sharon to a small bed and gently set her down with unprecedented tenderness.
The doctor gaped, curious about the girl who’d melted the rumored cold–hearted Nicholas.
Seconds later, Nicholas turned, still scowling. “Treat her.”
“Oh, right–what’s the matter with her? She looks pale.” The doctor reached for her forehead, but Nicholas swatted his hand away, glaring.

After a three second stare down, Nicholas said, “Get a female doctor.
“I’m the best here, the doctor protested.
“I said, get a female doctor.” Nicholas‘ eyes threatened violence.
