Chapter 157
The noisy cafeteria fell silent for a few seconds.
Sharon was eating carefully when a plate appeared before her, held by long, strong fingers,
She froze for a moment, then looked up. Nicholas‘ eyes shifted awkwardly, but his expression stayed calm as he said, “Try these, see if there’s anything you like.”
The aloof Nicholas had personally brought food to please Sharon, yet she didn’t speak. The atmosphere grew awkward for a moment.
“Oh, okay.” When Sharon finally replied, Nicholas set down the plate and hurried away.
The next second, he heard her say, “Everyone, come try these together.”
Nicholas paused mid–step, didn’t look back, and just let out a soft sigh. Sharon was really hard to please.
But instead of returning to the second floor, he sat directly at a first–floor table. As soon as he placed his tray down, his phone dinged.
Nicholas glanced at it casually, then froze. The message was from Marvin.
He opened it, and the content was simple. Marvin: [Take a week off for Sharon. She can’t attend the freshman camp. Prepare painkillers and cake for her.]
The confusing message left Nicholas puzzled. He turned to look at the cookies in her hand, guessing she might like sweets. Nevertheless, approving Sharon’s leave couldn’t be decided rashly.
Nicholas pondered for a long time but didn’t reply to Marvin. Asking why felt stupid, and he couldn’t fathom why she needed a week off anyway.
After lunch, Sharon strolled leisurely toward the dorm and happened to meet Squads 5 and 6, who’d just finished their punishment and came to eat.
Lydia glared daggers at Sharon. If not for her, they wouldn’t have been punished. Worse, Sharon had caused trouble but escaped punishment.
Vivian was exhausted, in no mood for tricks–she just wanted to sit and rest in the cafeteria.
The two squads exchanged a look, silent but locking eyes in a silent war.
Sharon stayed calm, brushing off the petty hostility. After the groups passed by, Elise sighed in relief–she couldn’t let Sharon clash with others because of them again.
But they’d barely walked a few steps when they ran into members of the Pierce family. These were all distant relatives; the main family’s kids were already a grade above, having attended school for a year.
The mood soured instantly. Some leaned on crutches, limping; others had arms or legs wrapped in casts and bandages.
Both groups wore blank expressions. The Pierce family members stared at Sharon, but she was lost in thought, mind blank.
The path was wide, so each group stuck to one side. As they met, Sharon stopped and turned to say, “It’s you guys.”
The Pierce family members swallowed hard. “Y–yeah. What do you want?” His tone was still defiant, if only he hadn’t stuttered.
No one expected such a violent streak from this woman. Sharon’s face was wildly deceptive.
Tension crackled. The boy raised his bandaged hand. “W–what else do you want?”
They’d probably lose again if they started another fight.
Sharon squinted and stepped closer, forcing the group back until they nearly shrieked for help.

Chapter 157
“You.” She stopped and pointed at a boy, the leader of the Plerce bunch. He shuddered, then dropped to his knees with a thud, -um sein
“What are you doing? I’m not gonna hit you,” Sharon asked, confused.
“I… I just think talking to you like this feels really comfortable, honestly. So reassuring.” The boy touched his arm in plaster, still terrified. He didn’t dat provoke Sharon again, afraid she’d break both his arms.
Sharon was speechless. Watching the kneeling boy, she worried others might think she was bullying him. So she turned and walked away without a
word.
The Pierce family members stared at each other, cold sweat soaking their backs. Now they believed Sharon had seriously injured Johnson with one punch. She was brutal.
