Chapter 154
Chapter 154
Nicholas‘ sudden appearance made Elise and Merrick extremely nervous. Nicholas‘ name had always only existed in others‘ words—few had seen him and even those who had rarely had any interaction with him.
Most of Nicholas‘ time was spent at the academy, rarely attending family banquets. As children of the Vance family, Elise and Merrick naturally had no
connection with Nicholas.
Sharon turned her head, a half–smile on her face. “Really? Is Mr. Baxter pulling strings for us?”
Hearing her address him like that, Nicholas was deeply displeased and realized she was indeed angry.
He said calmly, “The Pierce family started it, and my punishment was for the onlookers.”
As the parties involved, the Vance family’s branch members didn’t need to run thirty laps.
Sharon nodded calmly. “Alright, thank you for letting us off, Mr. Baxter.”
After speaking, Sharon was about to leave, but Nicholas directly grabbed her wrist. “Your hand is injured.”
Sharon looked down and saw a bloodstain on the back of her hand, probably from accidentally brushing against something sharp during the fight. But it was a minor wound, completely harmless.
She said expressionlessly, “It’s fine.”
“Your brother asked me to take care of you.” Nicholas held her wrist tightly and led Sharon to a nearby rest area, where a temporary first–aid station with
basic medications was set up.
His face remained emotionless, but his distant demeanor was somewhat intimidating. He firmly seated Sharon in a chair and personally disinfected the back of her hand with alcohol.
Sharon didn’t resist, leaving her hand on the table. The bloodstain stood out starkly against her skin.
Nicholas frowned at the wound. The Pierce family was as annoying as ever, buzzing around like flies.
After applying a bandage, Sharon pulled her hand back and walked away coolly.
Nicholas still held the alcohol bottle, staring blankly as Sharon left. She was really hard to please.
He seriously considered Brent’s suggestion to quit as chief instructor. He hadn’t wanted the role at first, but when he learned Sharon would attend the freshman camp and thought he could get closer to her, he’d agreed. Now it seemed his little plan had backfired.
While all onlookers had to run thirty laps, Sharon’s group escaped punishment–a fact that sparked much resentment, but no one dared speak up against the strict Nicholas.
Back at her team, Justin didn’t make everyone continue running. Instead, they practiced movements to prepare for upcoming obstacle courses.
“Sharon, are you hurt?” he asked.
Sharon nodded and waved her hand, the bandage clearly visible. Justin froze. “You call this an injury?”
If they’d waited longer, the wound would probably have healed on its own.
Justin glanced at Lydia and Vivian, who were still running. “They’ll probably hate you now. Mr. Baxter really drew a lot of hate for you.”
“Don’t mention him.” Sharon rolled her eyes irritably, touching the bandage on her hand with a sour mood. “I need you to dig up some information for
me.”

“What is it?” Justin sensed the person Sharon wanted to investigate was no ordinary target.
“These people are related to the House of Obsidian. You know what happened to my friend,” she said.
“Wasn’t your friend okay in the end?” Justin asked.
Sharon narrowed her eyes. “True, but debts must be paid, don’t you
think?”
“Um, Sharon, in a way, this was a misunderstanding–it’s the House of Obsidian’s duty. Many senior students have carried out such missions.” Justin paused. “Maybe if you join the House of Obsidian later, you’d even execute similar tasks yourself.”
If Sharon really wanted revenge, the grudges would be endless.
Sharon thought it over and admitted he had a point, but she said calmly, “I won’t join the House of Obsidian. I’m not interested in those missions.”
Since her brothers didn’t want her in the House of Obsidian, she’d stay out, but what she decided to do, she’d do. She already held the House of Obsidian’s secrets–now it was time for revenge.
She knew the one called the League of Niko was in the House of Obsidian and intended to get back at them.
“You’re not joining the House of Obsidian?” Justin was surprised. She’d always seemed interested in it.
“My brothers don’t approve, and as a sweet, obedient sister, of course I won’t go against their wishes,” Sharon said.
Justin’s expression turned awkward. Sweet and obedient were the last words anyone would use to describe Sharon.
