I hadn’t wanted Augustin to read those cards. They contained death threats and insults directed at me and our unborn child. The murderous look is his vich confirmed my fears.
Do you want to go home?‘ he asked, his voice surprisingly gentle despite the rage I could feel radiating from him.
‘I want to sleep in our bed at the manor,” I admitted. The thought of our massive bed with its soft sheets and Augustin’s scent embedded in the pillows sounded like heaven right now.
He nodded. ‘I’ve already arranged for Alpha Elton to meet us at the manor to look at those photos.
I straightened, suddenly alert. “The threats arrived right when Alpha Elton was scheduled to visit. What if we bring him here instead? He might recognize the attackers.”
“You think that’s not a coincidence? Augustin asked, his eyes narrowing.
“Someone doesn’t want me meeting with Elton
said firmly. “Which means that meeting might reveal something important.”
Augustin immediately pulled out his phone and dialed. “Elton? Change of
t? Alright, I’ll send Holloway and Harrington to escort you here.
I heard this and was a bit confused. “Those two?”
He paused. “Kieran and Matthew? Yes, I heard the three of them were together, so I asked them all to come. The threat has now extended beyond the boundaries of Cliff’s Edge. We need to expand our network.”
When he hung up, I noticed fear in his eyes, not for himself, but for me.
“This crosses a line,” he said quietly, pressing his
Orehead against mine. “Threatening my
mate, my child… whoever is behind this will face consequences.”
“We’ll find them,” I promised, and let him breathe in my scent to calm him down.
“I’m done being diplomatic about this,” he continued, his voice hardening. I’ll work with former enemies if that’s what it takes to keep you safe. My pride isn’t worth your safety.”
I pressed my forehead against his, We’ll get through this together, I linked him.
More Delta guards arrived, increasing security around our private room. “Tonight, we’ll question Fox and his mother,” I suggested. “They might have information we need.”
Augustin nodded, his eyes still dark with rage. “Nobody threatens what’s mine and gets away with it.
I smelled him before I saw him. That familiar scent that once meant home. I turned toward the door just as Matthew entered with Kieran and Elton.
The three men approached our table, all showing proper respect to Augustin by slightly lowering their heads, acknowledging him as the Alpha King, even if two of them were former enemies.
“Luna Harrington, Kieran greeted me with a slight nod.
“Luna Levenston,” Augustin corrected immediately.
I watched pain flash across Kieran’s face at the reminder that I had rejected our fated bond. His blue eyes held mine for a moment before he looked away.
Then Matthew’s gaze met mine. The pain and sadness Isabelle had mentioned were clearly visible in his eyes. We stared at each other awkwardly, neither sure what to say.
“Matthew,” I finally said, breaking the silence.
‘Juno,” he replied.

The tension in the room became unbearable. I turned to Alpha Elton, desperate to change the subject.
“Alpha Elton, would you like to look at those photos with me while Alpha King speaks with Alpha Matthew and Alpha Kieran?
Elton nodded, seemingly relieved by the suggestion. ‘Of course.”
I grabbed Augustin’s tablet and moved to the far side of the room with Amelia, Freya, Scarlett, and Elton, giving the men space to talk.
‘We’ll take a walk,” Augustin told Bryloch and Adryx, who nodded and followed him out with Kieran
and Matthew.
I watched them leave, hoping these former enemies could set aside their differences for a common cause.
