Chapter 125
The tweet from renowned actor Patrick sent shockwaves across the internet. As one of the most influential celebrities around, his words spread like wildfire. What had previously been insider knowledge among the upper echelons was now public news.
His agent, Roman James, was bombarded with phone calls, all demanding to know the truth behind the story.
Still reeling, Roman wondered, ‘How did everything flip on its head after just one day off?‘
He then quickly called Patrick. “Hey, Patrick, is that tweet you posted for real? Everyone has been hounding me.”
“Of course it’s real. My sister is amazing, you know?” Patrick said cheerfully.
He mused, ‘Shari is the head of the family now. She can basically do whatever she wants.‘
A look of surprise and excitement flashed across Roman’s face. “In that case, doesn’t that mean your whole family’s value just shot through the roof?”
Patrick waved it off. “That doesn’t matter. What matters is my sister is the head of the family. Wait, I’ve got to post another tweet to celebrate.” And with that, he hung up without another word.
He promptly tweeted again: [Celebrating Shari becoming head of the family. Showering blessings and cash! Say something nice and grab a gift card. Haters, keep scrolling.]
Along with the tweet, he posted a 40 thousand dollars gift card code, and it was all snatched up within seconds.
One netizen commented: [He’s such a boss! Oh, I wish I were his little sister. I’m so jealous.]
Another wrote: [Love it. His overprotective–brother persona is actually really charming.]
A third chimed in: [Count me in on the “I want to be his sister” train. Why didn’t my mom give me a few more big brothers? I’m so bitter.]
Someone else added: [Agreed with the comment above. I don’t know why, but jealousy is totally eating me alive.]
But while some were celebrating, others were acting like it was the end of the world–take the Dolan family, for example.
Ashley let out a shrill scream when she saw Patrick’s tweet. “No freaking way!”
Garrett snapped, “Ashley, are you out of your mind? Why are you screaming this early in the morning?” He’d barely gotten any sleep after staying up night, only to be woken by his sister’s screeching from the next room.
Ashley blurted out, “Garrett, something terrible just happened!”
“The only terrible thing is you,” Garrett grumbled, burying himself in his blanket. “I’m doing just fine.”
Ashley said, “Get up and look at this. Sharon… Sharon actually…”
“What about that brat?” Garrett groaned. “Didn’t the Vance family just hold a meeting yesterday to take her down? Did they punish her alre
Now that Sharon had been mentioned, he reluctantly opened his eyes. He wanted to see what kind of miserable fate had befallen his enemy, then go back to sleep in peace.
Ashley said, “No, it’s not that. She actually became the head of the Vance family.”
“Head of the family?” Garrett rolled his eyes. “Are you dreaming, or am I? Since when would the Vance family let her take that spot?”
Ashley frowned, “I’m serious. I’m not making it up. She really is the new head of the family. I saw the announcement on the internal site too. It’s

definitely real.”
That woke Garrett up completely. He snatched the phone from her hand and scrolled through the news nonstop. Ten minutes later, the fight drained out of him. “How is this even possible? What makes her qualified?”
He’d once dared to dream about becoming head of the family himself–until his mother shut that down with a harsh scolding,
Ashley said, “Just yesterday, Mom was telling us to give up on the head of the family position. And now suddenly that country bumpkin Sharon gets to take it? That’s so unfair.”
Garrett added, “I think so too. Why don’t we go ask Mom what’s really going on?”
With a quick glance at each other, the siblings rushed out and spotted Janelle. She was dressed all in black, looking as if the weight of the world was on her shoulders.
Seeing them, she spoke up calmly. “Oh, I was just about to call you guys down. Go get ready. We’re heading to Clark Villa.”
Garrett said, “Wait, Mom. Don’t go yet. We need to talk.”
Ashley chimed in, “Yeah, Mom. Yesterday you were scolding us, telling us to give up on the idea of ever becoming head of the family. So how come Sharon gets a pass? She’s just some backwater nobody!”
Janelle’s expression turned icy in an instant. “You want to know why?”
Ashley nodded. “Yeah.”
Garrett said, “We have to know. I’m not any worse than Sharon.”
Janelle narrowed her eyes. “You? You’re nowhere near her level. Yesterday, at Council Hall, Sharon landed one punch and put Johnson in the hospital. You think the two of you combined could even take on half of what Johnson can do?”
The siblings immediately swallowed hard, wide–eyed. “For real?” It was hard for them to believe Sharon could be so fierce.
