Chapter 123
Chapter 123
Sharon felt a twinge of unease the moment she heard those words. She thought, ‘Of course, my cover just had to get blown. What am I supposed to do now?‘ For the first time, she actually felt a little nervous.
Just then, Edward and Ernie came out and happened to catch the tail end of the conversation.
Nicholas stared at his fiancée, his eyes deep and searching, wondering if she really was who he thought she might be.
Ever since the mention of one billion Hunter Coins, he had been narrowing down the possibilities, ruling them out one by one–until only a single name remained. But even then, he hadn’t dared to believe it could be Sharon.
Now that Malcolm had said it out loud, Nicholas wasn’t all that surprised. After all, they’d known almost nothing about Sharon for the past twenty years.
And yet, she’d received an invitation to Oriston Academy at the age of ten. That alone had already set her apart from the rest.
The eight brothers of the Vance family all turned to Sharon, eyes wide with shock. One of them thought, ‘Wait… Shari is the one behind the Hunter Forum?
‘No way. That’s insane. Our little sister is actually this incredible? Now I feel kinda useless as her brother!
Suddenly, being her big brothers felt kind of embarrassing.
The eight brothers of the Vance family always thought they had to look out for Sharon, wanting her to live like a princess. But now, it turned out she didn’t need looking after at all. Her own identity was way more badass than theirs ever was.
The realization sank in, and silence swept through the room like a wave.
Sharon hadn’t expected her cover to be blown so suddenly. Sharon gulped, wondering what she should do now and if it was time to just admit everything.
Suddenly, Joan, who had been quiet the whole time, stepped forward. “You don’t have to hide it, Ms. Vance. The owner of the Hunter Forum being close to you isn’t a bad thing at all.”
Sharon hesitated for a moment before answering, “Yeah, we get along pretty well. That’s why he let me use that account.”
Malcolm chuckled, “Oh, I see. I always thought you were the one running the whole thing. Looks like I was wrong.”
He gave his chest a light pat, relieved to find out the younger generation hadn’t gotten that ahead of the game after all.
Malcolm added, “Still, it’s pretty impressive, Ms. Vance. A lot of people would love to get in with him, but not many have that kind of access.”
Sharon gave a polite but awkward smile. She thought, ‘Joan really saved me there. I almost forgot there’s more than one way to play it off. The whole ‘that’s my friend‘ angle? Total lifesaver.‘
Richard glanced at Sharon thoughtfully, asking, “Did he lend you all those coins?”
“Uh, yeah.” Sharon had no choice but to go along with it. What else could she say?
Richard’s expression shifted immediately, clearly displeased. He couldn’t shake the feeling that this so–called mysterious boss had some hidde
- da.
He wondered, ‘I mean, why would he just hand over that many Hunter Coins to Sharon like it’s nothing? He must be after something. You can’t trust people like that.‘
Noticing her brothers‘ reactions, Sharon quickly explained, “He’s a good person. He wouldn’t hurt me.” She was telling the truth. After all, she wasn’t about to sabotage herself.
But instead of reassuring them, her words just made everyone more suspicious. Considering how adorable she was and the family she came from,

nobody would be surprised if a man was after something.
All eight brothers were getting more and more irritated by how people kept trying to get close to Sharon.
Meanwhile, Nicholas didn’t look too pleased either. He pondered, ‘I looked into the guy behind the Hunter Forum ages ago. The whole thing is shady. Nothing useful came up. Just that it’s a man–ruthless and mysterious, and no one knows where he came from.
‘But still, someone capable of running the Hunter Forum? That kind of man is no lightweight. And now he’s willing to lend Sharon money–no, not just money, a whole billion Hunter Coins?‘
Nicholas, who had always lived carefree and easy, suddenly felt the weight of financial pressure settling in.
He definitely wasn’t about to let another man pay for his fiancée. It was one thing if Sharon earned her own money, but money from a guy with an agenda was a problem.
Nicholas suddenly found himself getting anxious and started thinking he really needed to find a way to earn some Hunter Coins himself.
He thought, ‘Sharon is only allowed to use the Hunter Coins I make. She can’t be spending another guy’s money, no way.
‘Maybe I should just start my own Hunter Forum. Or better yet, run the original one out of business and take over. Wouldn’t hurt to knock out a potential rival while I’m at it.‘
To Nicholas, taking out the old Hunter Forum and his rival sounded like the best plan,
