Chapter 201
Juno’s POV
I sat up, running a hand through my tangled hair. “Matches?” ”
“You’re paired with Ruby for golf, and Scarlett with Freya,” he explained, helping me out of bed. We decided against one–on–one matches and opted for doubles instead.”
I nodded, hoping I could earn enough points to secure a win. And I had no desire to try any other sports.
Augustin led me to the bathroom, and after we brushed our teeth, we stepped into the shower together. He stood behind me, kissing the side of my neck and gently squeezing the upper part of my arms, inhaling my scent.
‘I’m addicted to you,” he murmured against my wet skin. “Just thinking about you makes me want to fuck you again. I’m obsessed with your pussy. My cock wants to be buried inside you every waking moment.”
He pressed me against the shower wall, entering me from behind. The water cascaded over us as he moved, his hands gripping my hips tightly.
After we finished, we stepped out of the shower and began preparing for the day ahead.
“How do Adryx and Bryloch feel about tonight’s match against the Forestvale Stags?” I asked as I pulled on my clothes.
Augustin grinned, buttoning his shirt. “They’re excited. They hope to win quickly so we’ll have to play rugby next week. That way they can beat them again.”
I frowned, puzzled. “How are you organizing the rugby team? That wasn’t part of the plan.”
Augustin laughed, “We’re not organizing a team. Adryx has already spoken with the Clifflands Hawks. They’ll only substitute three players during the match.”
The Hawks understand what we’re trying to do,” he added with a wink. “They’re on board with the plan.”
I shook my head, amazed at their determination to get back at Quinn and Maddox. ‘Do you know Charles Richards?” Augustin asked suddenly, his tone
serious.
I wrinkled my nose in disgust. “I hate that name. He’s the Alpha who forced his daughter into our home.”
Other than being the asshole Alpha who threatened Matthew into accepting Isabelle, I don’t know anything serious about him,” I added, pulling my hair into a ponytail.
Augustin’s expression darkened. “He was involved in the attack that led to my assault on Forestvale.”
“That motherfucker,‘ I spat, anger flaring inside me.
“We’re investigating him,” Augustin said. “Does he have any other daughters or sisters?”
I frowned, thinking back. “No, he doesn’t. He has a niece who lives with him, but Isabelle was the only princess in his castle.”
Augustin nodded slowly. “I want you to be part of the investigation. Can you do that?”
I searched his eyes, wondering if he was serious or testing me, because that means I’ll need to interact with Matthew..
‘I trust you,” he said softly, cupping my face. “Matthew can’t take you from me. You’re mine.”
His wolf flickered in his eyes, and I nodded. “I’ll do it.”
“Thank you,” he said, kissing my forehead.
We finished dressing, both wearing Clifflands team uniforms complete with family crests. Freya and the others were similarly attired. We ate a quick breakfast before heading out, ready for the day of competition ahead.
1/3.
Chapter 201
The golf course was immaculate, the grass a perfect emerald green under the morning sun. We took golf carts to our designated area, where Ruby was already waiting, looking sharp in her golf uniform.
When she saw me, she rushed over for a hug, which I gladly returned. Eliza was also there, but I paid her little attention. The was on a mission, and her presence was irrelevant to me.
I ignored Eliza completely, though Freya interacted with her to avoid raising suspicion.
The match began shortly after. Ruby and I made an excellent team, our understanding of each others playing style giving us an advantage over the Lakeside Swans. We finished several strokes under par, securing a victory. Freya and Scarlett’s match followed, ending with similar success.
After the matches, Ruby reluctantly joined me as we made our way to where Augustin was waiting. He embraced me as i approached, and Ruby politely greeted everyone.
“Where are you from, dear?” Amelia asked Ruby, who shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Ruby was part of Bryloch’s harem, before,” I explained, placing a supportive hand on Ruby’s shoulder.
Evanth frowned. “I’ve never seen her before.”
I laughed. “Ruby’s a bookworm. She spent most of her time in her room except for garden socials.”
Amelia’s eyes softened with approval, and Ruby was invited to sit with us. I wondered where Elowen was but didn’t ask. Her absence was for the best.
We settled in to watch the other matches. Augustin’s polo game wouldn’t start until evening, so we had plenty of time. Each sporting area had comfortable boxes reserved for us, complete with an abundance of food.
Suddenly, Eliza’s voice entered my mind: Luna, someone just contacted me.
I tensed, immediately alert. Who?
There was a moment of hesitation before she replied: Luna Qiana of Crimson.
What does she want? I asked, keeping my expression neutral.
The usual stamps, Eliza explained. And she wants me to place a tracker on Alpha King Levenston’s phone. She mentioned acting quickly to save Mira Collins, implying an attack might be planned.
Continue as planned, I instructed. We’ll discuss the details later.
I linked Augustin, sharing Eliza’s information. His expression grew concerned.
What’s wrong? I pressed.
Luna Qiana is a member of the Savidge family, he explained. If the Savidge family is involved in treason, it would be devastating for Bryloch.
This could be a trap, I suggested.
Augustin nodded slightly. We’ll handle this when we get home. I need to speak with Bryloch first. Let’s not tell our friends yet.
I agreed, keeping my silence as we continued to watch the matches.
We spent the entire day watching sports, eating, and enjoying ourselves. I didn’t see any familiar faces–no Kieran, no Matthew, and none of the men Adry: and Bryloch were planning to confront. But I knew they were nearby, and we would see them during the matches.
For now, I pushed aside the troubling information about Qiana, focusing instead on the upcoming game. Soon, the Clifflands Wolves would face the Forestvale Stags.
