Chapter 112
The people wound them looked prisell again, bait the shock quickly faded. Compared to a hundred million Hunter Coint, fed much anymore—at least not when it came to Sharon. Of course, that number still meant something entirely different to everyon
The look on Susan’s face was hard to read, but she was definitely wavering after hearing what Sharon put on the table
Yet, Nolan flatly refused. “No.” With that, he glanced at Karen, giving her a reassuring look. Susan had been torn at first, but after seeing that, she suddenly felt there was no need to hesitate. “Let’s do it then, the agreed immediately.
Hearing that, both Roxanne and Karen looked visibly tense, their expressions became the head of the family, there’d be no place left for thems
ting grim. They both know exactly what this meant. If Sharon really
Tears welled up in Karen’s eyes as she turned to Nolan and pleaded, “Nots, you have to help me. If she takes over, I’m finished.”
He tried to comfort her, “Oh, don’t cry, Karl, it breaks my heart to see you like this”
The sliver of rationality Nolan had managed to hold onto completely vanished the moment Karen started crying
He even thumped his chest and declared, “I’ll take care of it. Don’t worry. There’s no way the Vance family would just hand over the title like that it has never happened before.”
“You’re the only one who has ever really cared about me, Nols, Karen murmured.
Her words set Nolanoff like
like he’d just downed an energy drink. He got all fired up and turned to Sharon with a smug grin. “See? Told you not to get ahead of yourself”
Sharon shot him a look, smirking “You? You don’t even have the right to talk to me. You can’t speak for the Pierce family”
Nolan hesitated, his expression shifting slightly as he looked at his mother. “How can the Vance family change the head of the family just like that? if they set a precedent, it might come back to bite us too.”
Susan rolled her eyes. “Then tell me, what else can we do? The Vanco family’s successor could be dead for all we know, so it’s not like he’s going to be running things”
Originally,
the people of Vance Mansion might’ve had a chance to salvage the situation. But now, they’d completely shot themselves in the foot–there was no saving it.
Nolan had the same thought, and it really did feel like a massive problem.
Seeing a window of opportunity, Karen jumped in, stumbling over her words. “Actually, both Wayne and I were trained to be the head of the family. I could help support him.”
Susan’s gaze turned cold as she looked at her. She hadn’t expected Karen to be quite this ambitious
Sharon flashed a mocking grin and let out a soft chuckle. “You? Come on, you’re not even in the running. Plus, you’re way too weak.”
Karen snapped back, “If you can do it, why can’t I? We’re both heiresses of the Vance family. You’re just some country bumpkin raised in a backwater town, while I was brought up as the real heiress.
“I am an elite student at Oriston Academy’s House of Ivory, you know? How are you even in the same league as me?”
Meanwhile, Nolan nodded along like some eager little lapdog. “Exactly.”
Susan could hardly believe this was her son. Seriously, does he even have a brain? No normal girl can just whip out a hundred million Hunter Coins like it’s pocket change, she thought.-
Nicholas suddenly spoke up. “She was a country girl, that’s true.” The second those words left his mouth, the whole room went dead silent.

Sharon stared at himin a dare, not quite understanding what he was pitting at.
Richard’s face darkened so fast it was like a curtain dropping. He wondered, is this punk trying to get himadid killed ?
Marvin looked like he was about to explode. If this was a medieval battle, he’d be galloping over and swinging a sword already.
Edward frowned and quickly shot a look at his grandson, signaling with his eyes, “What the hell are you doing? Are you out of your mind?
But Nicholas acted like he didn’t even see him, which made Edward so furious he could barely hold it in. He pinched Arnald’s hard tif saying “This is the brilliant son you raised?”
Amold was at a complete loss
- He was already cursing Nicholas in his head and seriously considering knocking some sense into him.
Karen lit up with excitement, chirping. “Oh, Nick, I knew you liked me.”
Nicholas raised an eyebrow. “What on earth? When did I ever say I liked you?”
Brent shot Karena frown. “Hey now, Mr. Baxter wasn’t even done talking. What are you getting all worked up for? Look at yourself. How do you w compare to Sharon? You’ve got some nerve, girl.”
Only then did Nicholas realize how his earlier words might’ve been misunderstood, and he quickly explained, “You said Sharon came from the countryside backwater town, but she’s actually the renowned lapidarist, Master Skyler. Even the Dolan family once mistook someone else for her
“You claim you got into Oriston Academy’s House of Ivory, but it was through backdoor connections. Meanwhile, Sharon was recommended by four different people and received a personal invitation from the headmaster when she was just ten
“She’s treated on par with the principal, you know? No one has ever done that before not in the history of the school.”
Nicholas, usually a man of few words, went all in when it came to praising someone.
His gaze lingered on Sharon as he added, “If you insist on calling her a country bumpkin, then that title alone would make every rich, polished socialite feel beneath her.” Then, Nicholas turned to Karen and frowned, “You don’t even qualify to be called that. You’re too weak”
Karen shook with rage, her face twisting into an ugly grimace. As much as she hated to admit it, every word he said was true. But that didn’t make it any easier to swallow.
She couldn’t stand the fact that the girl she used to look down on had suddenly risen so far above her that she couldn’t even hope to catch up.
Brent couldn’t resist adding fuel to the fire, saying, “And I heard your letter of admission only came after Wayne spent two hundred million Hunter Cons buying a mission on the Hunter Forum,
“Sharon, though? She’s got a net worth of one billion Hunter Coins. She could crush you with that kind of money, girl”
That was the final blow. Karen broke down, covering her face as she cried. The mention of those two hundred million Hunter Coins was a brutal blow to what little pride she had left, leaving her overwhelmed by confusion and hurt.
