Roxanne couldn’t even picture that kind of outcome. It sent chills down her spine. She immediately resolved that she absolutely couldn’t let the
happen.
Karen, meanwhile, just stood silently off to the side. She didn’t want Wayne to lose his spot as the successor either. That would be a huge embarrassment for her.
Inside, the people from Vance Mansion were in total chans, dropping all pretenses and showing their true colors. In contrast to the commotion in the main hall, the garden outside was peaceful and cal
Sharon sat in the pavilion with her brothers, enjoying the sound of the water from the fountain and pond, all while soaking in the beautiful scenery.
Meanwhile, Nicholas sat on a bench beside a narrow path with Brent, looking small, pitiful, and helpless.
Brent, ever the clown, piped up with a grin. “Nick, mind if interview you real quick? How are you feeling right now?” He clearly thought it was hilarious that Nicholas‘ fiancée was relaxing in the pavilion while Nicholas himself was stuck on the sidelines.
Nicholas gave him a flat look. “You talk too much.
Brent immediately clea
cleared his throat, shut up, and thought to himself, ‘Alright, some people you just don’t mess with
Back in the pavilion, Sharon glanced around at the scenery and then noticed someone was missing. She asked, “Where’s Richie?”
Wallace replied,“He probably went to the restroom,”
Sharon couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. She turned to look at him and asked, “Why doesn’t Richie want to be the head of the family?”
Back in the main hall earlier, when they’d talked about it, she could tell that Richard had definitely gotten emotional
Hearing that, the other brothers exchanged a look, In the end, Wallace said, “Back when Richie took us and let Vance Mansion, he swore a blood oath. He said that if he ever became the head of the family, none of us would die a peaceful death.”
Sharon clicked her tongue, and her expression instantly darkened.
She thought, ‘I don’t even need to guess who forced Richie to make a vow like that. If it wasn’t Mrs. Vance, who else could it be? God, she’s honestly the most vile old woman I’ve ever met hands down.
“Wt first, I just wanted to take the successor’s position and be done with it. But now? I’ve changed my mind. I’m going to make her pay. She has it coming, and Richie deserves better!
Marvin said, “Take it easy, Shari. That was all a long time ago”
As he spoke, he patted Sharon on the shoulder. The sudden touch snapped her out of it, and only then did she realize how close she’d come to losing control again.
She looked at her brothers with a nervous expression. “I’m sorry”
Wallace gave her a warm look, saying.
You don’t have to apologize, You’re incredible, Shari, You’re stronger than all of us.”
He thought, ‘Anyone who can casually pull out a billion Hunter Coins has to be someone extraordinary. Looks like Shari didn’t exactly sit idle these par twenty years.
Sharon pressed her lips together before asking. “Don’t you guys think I’m scary?” As she spoke, her eyes took on a reddish tint, and her usually sweet face turned icy cold. Most people would have been frightened by the sight and called her a monster

Wallace gently ruffled her hair and smiled, “Not at all. No matter what you became, you’ll always be our little Cater
Marvin added, “Exactly. And besides, this is all because of your bloodline. It’s not your fault.”
Julian chimed in, “People are teared because they’re nothing like you. They’re just weak.”
The rest of the brothers all nodded in agreement.
Sharon quickly returned to normal and gave an awkward little smi
Oh, I see. That’s a rollet”
She pondered, I knew it. My brothers are the best. They’re saying the exact same thing Nicholas did. So I’m not some kind of freak after all
Nicholas suddenly appeared by the pavilion, his gaze fixed sharply on her. “How often do you lose control like that?” He’d noticed a burst of oppressive energy just a moment ago,
Sharon answered slowly, “Not often. It usually only happens when I’m really angry. Then, I can’t stop myself from wanting to destroy everything” Rage and bloodlust would take over, and only the act of destruction brought her peace.
Nicholas said, “Once you’re at the academy, they’ll teach you specific techniques to manage your emotions.”
Sharon nodded. “Oh. Good to know.”
Her mood unexpectedly lifted. She looked at Nicholas and asked with a hint of curiosity, “Could you tell me more about the academy now? Just a little?”
Nicholas replied, “Of course.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than a chorus of awkward throat–clearing erupted around them. A few of the brothers had clearly been eavesdropping
Ope of them muttered, “Looks like it’s about to rain.”
Marvin added quickly, “Yeah, Shari, I just remembered that I left laundry out back. We should probably head out.”
With that, he shot Nicholas a death glare, grumbling inwardly, This shameless punk, never misses a chance to chat her up. No self–restraint at all. What kind of grown man throws himself at a sweet, soft–spoken girl like that? Control yourself, dude!
But Sharon, completely serious, replied, “No.”
Hearing that, all eight brothers froze like statues. It suddenly hit them that someone was actually making a move on their precious baby sister, and, to their horror, it was actually working.
