MY EVIL SISTER’S 26

After the wedding farce ended, Tyler took me to a villa, 

The villa had a Gothic exterior and the maids who came out to greet us were all dressed in matching magic academy uniforms. 

I immediately recognized them; they were outfits from the Harry Potter series. Were these people cosplaying Harry Potter characters? 

I glanced at Tyler curiously, noticing that he looked normal, even subtly excited. 

Did Tyler assign a role to me, too? 

However, I wasn’t familiar with Harry Potter and after thinking for a long time, I couldn’t figure out which character I should play. 

In eerie contrast to all this were the flowers planted in the front yard. 

Lilies and tulips of various colors bloomed there alongside a lush patch of lavender in full bloom. 

Tyler led me around the front garden before settling me down in its midst. 

A maid dressed in robes from the magic academy promptly brought me a cup of steaming tea. The fragrant aroma filled the air, wrapping everything in an atmosphere of serene comfort. “This is black tea brewed with morning dew I collected myself today. Isn’t it your favorite flavor?” Meeting Tyler’s eager gaze, I took one sip and put it down. 

“Sorry, this is terrible. It’s not to my taste.” 

Tyler’s face stiffened and his body paused slightly. “Th–this can’t be? Didn’t you used to tell me you wanted a Gothic villa where everyone dressed as Harry Potter characters and you would be Hermione?” 

Hearing him say that, something suddenly clicked in my mind. “There was something like that.” Tyler thought I’d changed my mind. He looked up at me, both hopeful and nervous. “Then, Clarine, you …” 

I coldly cut him off. “But someone else liked those things. Clara loved Harry Potter. I’m not familiar with Harry Potter at all. Do you know why?” 

“While Clara was repeatedly watching Harry Potter, I was worried about my tuition fees and I could only find time to wash dishes in the back kitchen of a restaurant every day!” 

The air was thick with the scent of lilies and tulips, so overpowering that it made me sick. “Lilies and tulips were Clara’s favorite flowers, but I hated them more than anything.” 

“Do you know why? Because after Clara’s mother, my stepmother, married into the Robinsons, she had all of my mom’s beloved ginkgo trees torn out and replaced with tulips and lilies!” 

“Every time I see these flowers, I think of Clara and that vile woman’s disgusting face!” 

With every word I spat out, Tyler’s face grew paler. 

He went from being silent initially to finally becoming numb, just listening quietly. 

Chapter 25 

8:10 pm D D 

After I had said everything, I felt incredibly relieved as if all the pent–up frustrations of these past years had been swept away. 

After a long time, I thought Tyler wouldn’t speak. I was about to get up and leave. 

When Tyler spoke then. 

His voice was incredibly hoarse, filled with deep sorrow. “Clarine, I’m sorry. I didn’t understanc you well enough.” 

‘Starting today, I’ll erase every trace of Clara from my life and do everything I can to remember your likes and dislikes.” 

‘I want to spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Please, give me a chance, Clarine?” 

frowned and said flatly, “No.” 

‘Oh, and one more thing, I forgot to mention earlier. This tea?” 

‘I hate black tea more than anything. You know why? Because every time I made the smallest mistake, Clara’s mother would drag me in front of her to kneel and be punished. If I didn’t obey she’d throw black tea on me.” 

touched the cup of still–warm teà beside me, then picked up the whole pot and poured it straight onto Tyler’s face. 

You make me sick, Tyler.”
