Chapter 15
Tyler’s POV
Tyler had stayed in Los Angeles for three days but never visited Clarine even once.
Every day, he’d ask about her schedule and discreetly follow her.
On the first day, he heard she went to an amusement park.
He knew she went there to ride the tallest Ferris wheel, to watch the sunset with the one she
loved.
He arrived at the amusement park early and waited beneath the Ferris wheel. But all he encountered was Hans’s prearranged forced clearance of the area.
Hans wouldn’t let anyone near the Ferris wheel. Tyler could only catch a distant glimpse of Clarine’s back.
He shouted her name in the crowd, but Clarine didn’t react.
The second day, Clarine went to a high–end restaurant in Los Angeles.
It seemed she was there with Hans, finalizing the menu for their wedding banquet.
Tyler wasn’t a VIP member of that restaurant, so he was naturally turned away.
On the third day, the Schneiders held a private family dinner.
Tyler used to have a good relationship with the Schneiders and thought he might get an invitation.
However, he only received polite rejections when he called Mr. and Mrs. Schneider in advance.
On the fourth day, he got a call from Clara and took the opportunity to return to New York.
As soon as he landed, he rushed straight to the hospital, hoping to surprise her.
To his shock, he stood outside the ward and heard voices through the crack in the door.
Clara seemed to be on the phone with someone.
“Mom, don’t worry, everything’s under control.”
“Yeah, that Tyler is such an idiot; he believes whatever I say. He actually thought I tried to kill myself. How is that even possible?”
“Clarine isn’t dead yet, how could I bear to die before her?”
“Got it, I’ll definitely find a way to get Tyler to marry me as soon as possible.”
Tyler froze, his hand on the doorknob, his expression darkening.
Every word Clara spoke was like a knife, shattering the image she had left in Tyler’s mind one piece at a time.
The Clara he remembered was so innocent, so kind.
Unable to face the unrecognizable woman before him, he turned and walked away.
He got back in his car, lit a cigarette in frustration and lost himself in thought.
When did Clara become like this?
Or was she like this from the beginning? He was deceived by her for more than ten years?

It wasn’t until the ash fell and burned his fingers that he suddenly came to his senses.
He had been wrong for over ten years and couldn’t continue making mistakes. At least, he
should find the truth now.
Suddenly, the words Hans had said appeared in Tyler’s mind.
“Tyler, you’re the one who got it wrong.”
More than ten years ago, when he first met Clara, his heart did not have much ripples.
At that time, his heart was full of Clarine. Others were just passers–by in his eyes.
Not until the first birthday party after Clara returned to the Robinsons did he see Clara push her into the swimming pool.
Clarine stood on the shore, watching Clara struggling in the water, with indifference on her face and hatred in her eyes.
From that day on, he distanced himself from Clarine and gradually paid attention to Clara.
The Jacobsons wouldn’t allow someone with such poor character into their home and he couldn’t spend his life with someone like that.
Tyler suddenly realized something. He quickly turned and left the hospital room, dialing his assistant.
“Help me look into… Clara’s tenth birthday party.“.
“Also, find out everything about Clarine and Clara over the years. No matter how big or small, the more the better.”
