Chapter 85
Chapter 85
“Grandpa told me to see what the Baxter family does,” Brent explained.
“And what will the Baxter family do? Have they finally seen Sharon’s true colors, how disloyal and disrespectful she really is?”
Brent’s lip twitched in annoyance as he turned to Janelle. “Aunt Janelle, maybe spend less time playing cards and pay more attention to your kid. Her intelligence is concerning.”
“Hey, watch it! Ashley is your sister. Is that any way to talk about her?” Janelle shot back.
“It’s exactly because she’s my sister that I’m saying this,” Brent replied. “If she were anyone else, I wouldn’t give a damn. If she keeps this up, one day she’ll cause real trouble, and you’ll be the one crying, Aunt Janelle.”
Brent didn’t bother saying much. He thought Ashley’s intelligence matched that of a kindergartner.
“Mom!” Ashley stomped her foot in anger. “Look at how Brent is looking down on me again. Just because he’s Grandpa’s favorite to inherit everything doesn’t mean I couldn’t do it too!”
Janelle studied Ashley with a complicated expression before speaking with newfound gravity, “I’m starting to think Brent might be right. I’ve been so busy playing poker that I’ve neglected your development. That’s on me.”
“Mom?” Ashley’s jaw dropped.
Garrett jumped in from the side, eager to make things worse. “You really think you could be the heir? I’m still here, you know.”
Janelle smacked him with an open palm. “Both of you, shut up!”
‘God, how did my children turn out this way?‘ Janelle thought. ‘They weren’t like this when they were little!
They’re so clueless it’s painful to watch. Do they really think becoming the Dolan family heir is that easy? I know exactly what my kids are capable of, but apparently, they don’t see it themselves.‘
This really was Janelle’s fault.
“Mom, I want to go see what happens to Sharon,” Ashley insisted.
“Me too, Mom,” Garrett chimed in.
Janelle gritted her teeth. “Like hell you will! Both of you are staying home where I can keep an eye on you. Starting today, I’m taking charge of your education and straightening out your twisted perspectives. I won’t have you embarrassing the Dolan family later on.”
Ashley and Garrett immediately backed down, not daring to say another word.
Janelle usually spent her time playing poker, getting beauty treatments, and enjoying afternoon coffee. But she was famous for her explosive temper, and none of them dared to challenge her directly.
They kind of missed the old days when Janelle played poker and left them to raise themselves.
At the Vance Mansion, Roxanne had changed into a black dress. Her hair was pulled back sleekly, and she wore a gemstone necklace–the perfect image of the formidable matriarch of the Vance family.
Today, Roxanne planned to teach that troublesome girl Sharon a proper lesson.
“Grandmother, are you sure the Pierce family is really on our side?” Karen asked worriedly.

Chapter 85
“The Pierce family was humiliated when they were kicked out of the Atlantis Hotel banquet. There’s no way they’d swallow that insuit Sovannstrid firmly. “Right now, our families have the same goal. So what if that girl is 5 level? Without the Vance family backing her, she’s nothing “
Karen fell silent.
For the past few days, the lady of the Vance family had dominated online headlines.
Even though Sharon’s photos hadn’t been leaked, the news about her coming of age ceremony in the Queen’s Hall was enough to capture everyone’s
attention.
Karen was so jealous she barely dared to leave her room. ‘We’re both Vance girls, she thought. ‘Why does Sharon get to be in the spotlight
Lately, because of the bounty posted on the forum, Vance Mansion hadn’t felt safe. But to save face, they had to tough it out and stay there, even though none of them could sleep well at night.
This was all Sharon’s fault.
They set out united against a common enemy, but Madeline felt hesitant. Her family had called her last night, asking her to find a way for Roxanne to smooth things over with Sharon.
But Madeline knew what kind of person Roxanne was. She and Sharon were like fire and water right now. There was no way they could reconcile. Unless Sharon got on her knees and begged for forgiveness. But that would never happen.
Madeline had a bad feeling about this. She sensed this situation wasn’t as simple as it seemed. To her, Sharon was nothing but trouble.
