Chapter 100
Malcolm was utterly stunned. He missed the chair entirely and landed flat on the floor, staring wide–eyed at his phone screen. He thought, What on earth? This is insane.‘
Sharon was Thomas‘ only daughter, the lone survivor from the accident back then. Rumor had it she grew up tucked away in the countryside, secretly sent there because she’d always been frail.
She was just a little girl, after all, and nobody had ever paid her much mind, especially after the Vance family’s eight heirs got kicked out and ended up as distant branches of the family.
Malcolm pondered, ‘I bet the people who had beef with Thomas back then were thrilled. Hell, they probably even threw a damn party. Nobody gave a crap about that frail baby girl.
“Who would’ve thought that after twenty years, that little girl would suddenly be back in the spotlight? First, Edward came out claiming she was engaged to his grandson, insisting there was some arranged marriage deal.
‘Then all this crazy stuff started happening, and somehow those eight brothers never got the short end of the stick.
‘Atlantis Hotel even handed them eight ultra–VIP cards and opened up Queen’s Hall just for Sharon’s coming–of–age banquet.”
Malcolm let out a long breath and continued to ponder, ‘Sharon never even showed her face in public, and yet people are already treating her like a legend.
‘Now that I think about it, if she’s the person running the Hunter Forum behind the scenes… then yeah, this all starts to add up.
‘I wouldn’t be surprised if Atlantis Hotel is working directly with her. Hell, maybe she even owns the place.‘
With all that spiraling through his head, Malcolm felt a migraine coming on. There was just too much to take in.
And then he thought, ‘What kind of monster is that girl from the Vance family anyway?‘
It took him a while to snap out of it. When he finally did, he opened up WhatsApp and tapped into a small group chat: [Stud Squad Eight].
He tagged everyone and texted: [Get in here. We’ve got something big to talk about.]
When no one responded, Malcolm reluctantly dropped a 10 dollars gift card code, and it was gone in seconds.
He sent an angry meme and wrote: [You greedy animals. Weren’t you all pretending to be dead just now? Look at you all, scrambling the second money shows up.]
The sixth elder of the Elders‘ Council, Clarence Webb, replied: [Bruh, are you capping it at six persons again? Come on, be a decent human being for once, can you?]
Malcolm scoffed and texted back: [Maybe if your internet wasn’t trash, this wouldn’t be a problem.]
Clarence replied: [Blame my neighbor’s garbage Wi–Fi. The guy won’t even spring for decent internet. Shame on him
Malcolm rolled his eyes but still responded: [You leech off your neighbor’s Wi–Fi and have the nerve to complain?]
The third elder of the Elders‘ Council, Bernard Whittaker, messaged: [Whatever it is, make it quick. My next game is about to start.]
Malcolm typed seriously: [Go open the Hunter Forum and check the reward post that’s pinned in red. You’ll get what I mean.]
Bernard replied: [It’s just that dumb bounty from the Vance family. Do you really think a thousand Hunter Coins are worth our time?]

Knowing full well how lazy his crew was, Malcolm just took a screenshot of the forum and dropped it into the group chat. He wrote: [See for yourse then.]
A full minute of silence followed.
Before long, one of the council members texted: [Damn, who’s throwing coins around like that? A hundred million Hunter Coins?)
Another chimed in: [Other than us Elders‘ Council, who else could even take on something like this?]
Someone else added: [No question, it’s gotta be us. That 10 million Hunter Coin commission is ours for the taking.]
Malcolm slowly recorded a voice message and sent it to the chat. “If you want the money, show up at the Council Hall within a day. Latecomers get their
Hunter Coins docked.”
One of the Elders‘ Council immediately snapped: [Who made you boss? You don’t get to just dock our Coins.]
Another agreed: [Yeah, exactly.]
Malcolm replied: [Because the person who posted the job is Sharon and she’s the one paying. It’s her call, but you’re free to ignore it if you want.]
As soon as that message dropped, the whole group went quiet.
Bernard finally texted: [A little girl like her has that kind of money?]
Gilbert wrote: [Calling serious BS on that.]
Malcolm texted: [This is a bit complicated. I’ll explain when we meet. Don’t forget who her father is.]
Of course, they knew–it was Thomas. They couldn’t shake the thought that the daughter of that ruthless, chaos–loving old bastard turned out to be just as tough.
On the other hand, they had to admit life without Thomas these past twenty years had been a bit dull.
Malcolm messaged again, just to drive the point home: [If you want those Hunter Coins, you better not be late. Get your tickets and get back here ASAP.}
Once he was done giving instructions, he glanced at his account balance and thought, ‘As for this little bonus… I’ll gladly keep it. I already split the 10 million Hunter Coins commission, so let’s just call this a well–deserved tip for my troubles.
‘As for that special communication method I mentioned earlier… well, that’s ancient history now. Everything’s online these days. Just shoot over a WhatsApp message and boom–done. Gotta love technology.’
Out in the main hall, Sharon looked up at her brothers and asked, “Is being the head of the family exhausting?”
Richard answered coolly, “Either way, there’s work to be done. The title doesn’t change that. It’s just for show.”
Wallace chimed in, “Do you want to be head of the family, Shari? We could hand it over to you.”
Hearing that, Sharon quickly shook her head. “Not me. Let Richie take it.”
She knew that, aside from Marvin who just lazed around, Richard didn’t really run anything. Wallace was the one actually running the company.
Richard said, “The title doesn’t matter. You are the head of the family, Shari. I’ll handle the day–to–day stuff for you.” He wanted her to have the best the world could offer.
He pondered, ‘It’s just a title. Weren’t these people the same ones who used to look down on Shari, calling her some hick from the countryside?
Well, let’s see how they act when she becomes the head of the Vance family, one of the Four Great Families. Let’s see who dares mess with her then

‘Those spoiled kids from the other families will have to greet her respectfully and call her by her proper title
Sharon instinctively wanted to refuse, but then she saw the determination in Richard’s expression and fell silent
She wondered, ‘Hm… Why doesn’t Richie want to be the head himself?‘
Meanwhile, Wallace watched the exchange, his expression turning contemplative.
Roxanne had been glaring at Sharon the entire time. She finally snapped, “Don’t think you can win these people over with a bunch of Hunter Coins. You’re getting ahead of yourself. The Vance family isn’t yours to lead!”
Seething, Roxanne thought, ‘They’re actually talking about this in front of me? Where do they get the nerve?
