Chapter 26 Breaking Tics
Just as the words left her mouth, she saw another agent approach with Milly and Celia in tow
The agent was all smiles. “Although the villa here is on the smaller side, it’s surrounded by commercial areas. It’s perfect for a young woman living alone. It’s safe and convenient.”
Celia held Mill’s hand, her tone filled with affection. “This villa is just over 300 square meters and the garden is tiny. Are you sure you want to buy this? I can get you something much better.”
Milly’s face lit up with a smile. “Mom, there’s no need. 300 square meters is more than enough for me. Besides, it’s close to Nolan’s workplace, so I can visit him anytime.
As she spoke, she noticed Amelia in the distance and looked surprised. “Amelia, are you here to check out houses too?”
It was only then that Celia saw Amelia. Her brows immediately furrowed. “What are you doing here? Are you here to make trouble because you saw me buying a house for Milly?”
Amelia acted as if she hadn’t heard their conversation and turned to her agent. “I’m fine with a semi- detached house. No need to consider detached houses or townhouses. Do you have anything else?”
“Yes, we do. There’s semi–detached houses nearby. Would you like to take a look now, Ms. Summers?” the agent replied enthusiastically.
Amelia nodded and followed the agent. Celia was livid when realized she had been ignored. “Amelia, what exactly are you doing here? Can’t you just stay out of trouble for once?”
Celia hurried over and grabbed Amelia’s wrist. “We agreed last night to call off the engagement, but you left everyone hanging and didn’t even pick up your phone. And now you have the audacity to show up here as if nothing happened? Have you no shame?”
Amelia flung her hand away, her expression cold. “Are you done talking, Mrs. Yoon?
Celia was stunned, momentarily thrown off by the unfamiliar title. “W–what did you just call me?”
Amelia gave her a faint smile. “Mrs. Yoon. Didn’t I make it clear? I’m cutting ties with all of you. I’m not your daughter, so there’s no need for you to act like an elder lecturing me. You only have one daughter, and that’s Milly. Sorry, but I don’t think we know each other well.”
Celia stood frozen, as though she had misheard. In the past, a simple compliment from her would make. Amelia happy and eager to do better.
Now, she was being coldly addressed as “Mrs. Yoon,” with not a trace of warmth in Amelia’s eyes.
Celia was momentarily at a loss. Before she could recover, Milly stepped in.
“Mom, I think Amelia is just trying to get your attention. How about we don’t buy the house for me and get one for her instead? I can stay somewhere else.”
Celia’s hesitation vanished instantly. Of course! Amelia was just pretending, as always, trying to draw attention to herself.
Fine, let her act. If ignored, she’d tire of her antics soon enough and come crawling back.
Taking a deep breath, Celia looped her arm through Milly’s. “Who said we’re not buying? We’re buying it.

Thank you Mom
Milly cast a smug glance at Amelia, expecting to see jealousy and resentment in her sister’s eyes but Amelia had already walked several feet away with her agent.
Milly felt an inexplicable pang of discomfort. Amelia rode in the agent’s car for ten minutes before arriving at another property.
This building was six stories high, with two units per floor. The apartment she viewed was 150 square meters. Thanks to its prime location, it was priced at 20,000 dollars per square meters, totaling 3 million dollars. Exactly within her budget.
Plus, it was close to Hale Corporation, making her commute convenient.
“Ms. Summers, what do you think? The seller is eager to move this property. Since you’re a local, I don’t need to explain how convenient this area is. Everything is nearby, and it has the best property management team for security. There are patrols at night, so it’s completely safe for someone living alone.”
Amelia immediately took a liking to the apartment. The decor was elegant, likely done by a woman.
“3 million? Can’t the price go any lower?”
“Property prices have been climbing for years. Even bare units cost this much. This one comes fully furnished with high–end furniture. If it weren’t an urgent sale, it would easily cost millions more.”
Amelia smiled faintly. “Fine, get in touch with the seller and let’s sign the contract.”
She could tell that the furniture was tasteful, and the renovations were only two years old. Everything Hooked brand new. The agent wasn’t lying–the seller was indeed in a rush. Haggling didn’t seem necessary. Besides, she had earned the 4 million effortlessly, so spending it didn’t hurt.
The seller proved to be very efficient. By afternoon, all the paperwork was completed, and the keys were handed over.
The speed of it all left Amelia slightly astonished. It seemed she could buy some bedding tomorrow and move in right away. Her mood brightened instantly.
On the other side, Felix’s injuries weren’t severe, but when he thought of Amelia, his face twisted with rage. He was drinking, a bandage wrapped around his head.
Sitting across from him, Timothy kept his head down, his muscles taut, looking as though he might explode at any moment.
Felix couldn’t swallow his anger any longer. “That damned woman! One way or another, I’ll get rid of her. Don’t you have any ideas?”
