Chapter 165
Juno’s POV
Augustin lay on his side on the bed, head propped up by his hand, wearing nothing but his boxer briefs. He turned his head to look at me, a smile playing on his lips, his eyes filled with expectation. His muscular body was relaxed against the sheets, the dim light of the bedroom that accentuated his powerful physique.
“Come here, Berry,” he said softly, patting the space beside him,
I smiled back, slipping off my sweatpants but keeping my oversized t–shirt on, my lower half bare. I crawled onto the bed, and Augustin sat up, pulling me into his arms.
“That was tense downstairs,” he murmured, kissing my neck. His lips were against my skin, sending little sparks of pleasure down my spine. “Everyone’s on edge with everything we discovered.”
“Is it always like this?” he asked, his breath tickling my ear. “Do you always solve murders and rebellions? Should I be worried about having a detective for a Luna?”
I laughed, turning to face him. “I’m not Sherlock Holmes. I’ve never solved a murder or a rebellion before.” I ran my fingers through his hair. “This is definitely a first for me too.”
Augustin made an exaggerated shocked face. He placed a hand over his heart dramatically. “I don’t know if I can afford your services. Do you charge by the hour or by the case?”
“Oh, I’ll charge you extra,” I teased, running my fingers along his chest. “Very, very extra. And I only accept payment in a very specific currency.”
“Is that so?” His eyes glinted with mischief. “And what currency would that be?”
“I think you know exactly what I mean,” I replied, my voice dropping lower.
His eyes darkened slightly as he started tickling me, making me squeal with laughter. I thrashed in his arms, gasping for breath between giggles.
“Stop! Stop!” I begged, trying to escape his merciless fingers.
I grabbed a pillow and hit him with it, but he just grinned, his wolf eyes flashing briefly. The sudden shift in his eyes made my heart race, not with fear, but with desire.
I stopped laughing, my eyes traveling over his muscular body. I took in the defined muscles of his chest and abdomen, the intricate tattoo on his shoulder that represented his bloodline, the healthy tautness of his skin. My gaze lingered on the clear outline of his hardening cock beneath his boxers.
Mmm, Seraphine purred in my mind, clearly appreciating the view as much as I was. He’s perfect.
Augustin noticed my staring and smirked. “See something you like? You’re totally eyeing that like it’s the last piece of cake.”
I felt heat rush to my cheeks and looked away with a small laugh. “Can you blame me? Look at you.”
“I’m all yours,” he said, his voice deeper now, pulling me closer and capturing my lips in a deep kiss.

Chapter 165
I moaned softly against his mouth, and he responded with a low growl that sent heat straight between my legs. I wanted his cock inside me right now, but I also wanted to share my thoughts first. When I tried to speak, though, Augustin had already slipped his hand under my t–shirt.
His thumb found my clit and began to circle it gently, making impossible to concentrate.
“Augustin,” I gasped, “I need to tell you something.”
He looked at me. “What is it?” His fingers didn’t stop their tantalizing movements.
“I’ve been thinking all day about…” My words trailed off as his fingers slipped inside me, finding me already wet and ready. I bit my lip, trying to maintain my focus despite the pleasure coursing through me.
“I’ve been thinking about fucking you all day,” he said, his eyes now completely shifted to their wolf color. He curled his fingers inside me, hitting that perfect spot. “Can it wait?”
I nodded weakly as he spread my legs wider, positioning himself between them. He lowered his head, kissing and licking his way up my inner thighs before replacing his fingers with his tongue. I arched my back, already close to the edge.
“Augustin,” I moaned.
When he finally pushed his cock into me, I came almost instantly, my walls clenching around him as waves of pleasure washed over me.
“Tsk tsk,” he said, playfully slapping my ass. “So quick. What am I going to do with you?”
“You were teasing me before,” I explained breathlessly. “With your fingers and mouth. I was already close.”
“Is that right?” he asked with a smirk. “Then I guess I’ll have to work harder to build you up again.”
I flipped our positions, straddling him and taking control. He guided my hips with his strong hands as I rode him, setting a pace that had us both panting. He thrust up into me, hitting that perfect spot deep inside.
“I love you,” he whispered, his voice strained with pleasure. “So fucking much, Berry. You have no idea what you do to me.”
“I love you too,” I gasped, leaning down to kiss him deeply.
We moved together for what felt like an eternity before we both reached our climax, collapsing in a tangle of limbs, breathing heavily.
As I lay beside him, trying to catch my breath, Augustin turned to me. “What was it you wanted to tell me? Before I so rudely interrupted you.” He grinned, but his eyes were curious.
I sat up, suddenly nervous. “It’s important, but I need you to know this is just my intuition. I could be wrong, and I don’t want to offend you.”
Augustin propped himself up on his elbow, his expression serious now. “You could never offend me, Jo. What is it?”
I took a deep breath. “It’s about Helena and your
mother.”
“What about them?” His brow furrowed slightly.

Chapter 165
“Something’s been bothering me. Why would Helena visit your mother? They hated each other, right? Your mother discovered Helena was having an affair with your father, so she should have despised her.”
Augustin nodded slowly. “Yes.
Your mother seems passive, but I think she holds grudges. Your father did ferrible things to her, and it’s a miracle she remained sane. My hands trembled slightly, and Augustin gently took them in his, kissing my knuckles to calm me.
“Your mother doesn’t strike me as the forgiving type,” I continued. “Were there guards at the apartment when the attack happened?”
“There should have been,Augustin said. “Only a few were injured. The attack happened during a shift change. The guards said it was soldiers from Fireland and Forestvale who attacked them. They thought my mother was dead, so they left.
“That’s convenient timing,” I said carefully. “Did you see these supposed Fireland soldiers yourself?”
Augustin frowned, his forehead creasing. “No, but they must have planned it carefully. Kieran would know the guard
rotations.”
“But how would he know Helena would be there that morning?” I pressed.
Augustin’s frown deepened. “I… don’t know.”
I emphasized again, “I’m just speculating here, Augustin. This is just a hypothesis based on what we know.” I paused, gathering courage. “What if… what if your mother lured Helena to her home and killed her?”

Juno’s theory sounds feasible. Amelia certainly had reason enough to murder Helena but why did she wait all these years. What happened recently to tip Amelia’s feelings?
