Chapter 152
Augustin’s POV
My Gamma moved fast, grabbing Eliza’s arms from behind. She struggled against him, panic in her eyes.
“Where’s the phone?” I demanded, stepping closer.
Her eyes went wide. “W–what phone? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t lie to me,” I growled, “I know you have a phone. One youve been using to betray me.”
“No!” she protested, tears forming. “I would never betray you!”
“WHERE IS THE PHONE?” 1 roared, my patience gone.
Eliza broke under my anger. “In the mattress,” she whispered. “There’s a cut in the mattress.”
Eliza broke under my anger. “In the mattres,” at
The female staff lifted the mattress, finding a slit in the side. One of them reached in and pulled out a black smartphone.
I took it from her and checked–it. No saved numbers, no text messages, but the call history showed an anonymous caller. Multiple calls to the same unlisted number.
“How did you get this?” I asked.
Eliza just sobbed.
“What did you give them?” I pressed, stepping closer. “What information did you share?”
She cried harder but didn’t answer.
“AS YOUR ALPHA KING, I COMMAND YOU TO ANSWER ME! I unleashed my full authority.
Eliza dropped to her knees, Adryx stepping back. “Please forgive me,” she begged. “They promised to send me home. They said they’d help me escape this place! They threatened to kill my family if I didn’t help.”
“What. Did. You. Give. Them?” I enunciated each word. “Who did you speak with? Names. Now.”
“I don’t know their names,” she whimpered. “Sometimes it was a woman with a soft voice, sometimes a man who sounded older. They never told me who they were.”
Rage consumed me. I lunged forward, grabbing her by the throat, lifting her off the ground. “You’re lying!”
Augustin? Juno’s voice suddenly echoed in my mind. She was awake.
I’m in Eliza’s room. Your suspicions were correct.
“Bank details, Eliza choked out as I loosened my grip slightly. Signatures. The royal seal. Envelopes.”
“What else?” I demanded.

Chapter 152
I put a backdoor on your computer, she admitted, tears strent ng down her face. To help them watch your movements.
My vision went red, I dropped her roughly to the floor. You hoped commit TREASON! 1 roared, slapping her hard across the facer
She fell back, crying out in pain. “I’m sorry! I didn’t know what they would do with It!
“LIAR! I raised my hand to hit her again.
The door burst open. Juno stood there, breathless, barefoot.
“Berry! You shouldn’t be renning!” I growled, immediately worried about her and our baby.
“What happened?” she demanded, ignoring my concern.
“She helped commit treason,” I answered, shaking with rage. “She exposed my information. She put a fucking TROJAN on my computer. She gave them my signature and seal.”
I raised my hand again, ready to hit Eliza again, but Juno stepped between us.
“Enough,” she said firmly. Her eyes, usually soft and warm, were now hard as ice. She turned to face Eliza, who cowered on
the floor.
“Why?” Juno asked, her voice trembling with rage. “Why would you do this, Eliza? Do you realize what you’ve done? Your actions could have cost Evanth his life, could cost Augustin his position as Alpha King, could start a WAR.*
Eliza looked up, her face red from my slap, eyes puffy from crying.
freedom. And since Augustin didn’t want me, I decided to take a chance.”
tired of being alone here. They promised me
The answer seemed to make Juno even angrier than it made me. “That is the STUPIDEST excuse I have ever heard,” she
hissed.
I watched, fascinated, as my usually gentle mate transformed into something fierce and terrible. Her anger was beautiful
and scary to see.
“Is that all life is to you? Sex?” Juno demanded, standing over Eliza. “Do you think that’s what love is? Let me tell you something – real love doesn’t hurt the person you claim to care about.”
“Do you know how much the people of Forestvale and Fireland hate Augustin because of this? How wary parts of Lakeside are of him? Do you understand what you’ve helped the enemy do?”
“We were supposed to be prisoners here,” Juno continued, gesturing widely. “All of us war tributes. We were supposed to be
in jail.”
I tensed at her words, pulling her into my arms. “You’re not a prisoner, Berry. Never think of yourself that way.”
She pushed against my chest, determined to make her point to Eliza. “I need her to hear this. When I was brought to the North, I thought I would become a slave. Instead, I found I was treated better here than I had been at home.”
Her eyes bored into Eliza. “What made you think you had the right to betray us? To betray HIM?”
Juno’s fury was so intense I could smell Seraphine’s rising to the surface. Her scent sharpened, becoming wilder, more dangerous.

Chapter 152
“Where are your handlers now, Eliza?” she demanded. “They can save you from punishment.”
1- Eliza began.
How were you recruited?” Juno cut her off. When Eliza hesitated, she slapped her hard across the face. “ANSWER ME!”
In that moment, I understood why every Alpha needed a Luna. Where my rage would destroy, Juno’s would get the truth.
“There’s a resistance group in Clifflands,” Eliza finally admitted They’re recruiting members. A former Luna in service recruited me eight months ago.”
“And you just agreed?” Jun skeptical. “No, the truth is you were jealous and resentful of Augustin’s relationship with me, weren’t you?” She slapped Eliza again. “What is your handler’s name?”
“Mira Collins,” Eliza whispered, defeated.
Juno turned to me, her eyes blazing. “Take her away. Guard her, but don’t hurt her. She’s under my charge now.”
Adryx and the female staff looked to me for confirmation. I nodded, willing to follow Juno’s lead on this.
As they led a sobbing Eliza from the room, Juno collapsed against me, the fire in her eyes dying down.
Mira Collins,” I repeated, “She works in the harem kitchens. A luna.”
The pieces were finally coming together. We had a name now.
