The hallways got wider and fancier as I approached the harem wing. Paintings of past Levenston rulers lined the walls. My father’s portrait hung largest of all, his cold eyes seeming to follow me.

I pushed these questions aside. First, I needed to deal with Eliza.
When I arrived at the harem’s common hall, everyone went quiet. I hadn’t been here since these women arrived. The last time I was actively involved with the previous harem was before I dismissed them all.
I cringed thinking about the wild parties Bryloch, Adryx, and I used to have here. All–night drinking. Women who meant nothing beyond a moment’s pleasure. I felt ashamed of how I used to live. Thank god Juno brought meaning and love back to my life. After Cassandra left, she took everything with her. I was just an empty shell.
Most of the women looked at me seductively. I ignored them all My eyes searched for one face.
There she was. Eliza sat by the window. When she saw me, her face lit up. She smiled, and the sight of it made me want to rip something apart.
I beckoned her over with one motion. She got up eagerly, almost skipping toward me, her long blonde hair bouncing.
“Alpha,” she said sweetly.
“Take me to your bedroom,” I ordered, not bothering with small talk.
Several women gasped. Eliza’s eyes widened, first in surprise, then with a gleam I recognized too well.
“Of course,” she replied.
I knew what they all thought, that I’d finally decided to fuck Eliza. Let them think it. I didn’t care enough to explain.
We waited silently as Adryx joined us with two female staff members. Eliza’s eyes darted between us, excitement all over her face.
“Does Luna Juno know about this?” she asked as we walked, sounding sly. “She might get angry.”

We reached the room Eliza shared with two other girls. I entered first, looking around critically. The room was nicely arranged, with three beds, each with its own vanity table. It looked like a luxury dorm.
Eliza stood in the middle of the room, head slightly bowed in what I now saw was fake submission.
I watched as she began to untie her robe, clearly thinking I wanted sex. I could smell her excitement. It disgusted me.
“Keep your clothes on,” I snapped.
Confusion crossed her face, but she obeyed, retying her robe. “Okay. I await your orders.”
“Which is your bed?” My voice was flat.
She pointed to the one against the wall. I nodded to the female staff.
Search her things, I ordered through our link.
Eliza’s face instantly changed from confusion to worry as the women approached her bed.
“What’s happening?” she asked, voice rising. “What are they doing?”
“Adryx, hold her,” I ordered.
