Chapter 29

“Alpha, whatever happens my daughter begged me before she closed her eyes that your should choose to save her,” that was the first thing that greeted me.
The sharp words of Sasha.
“And we need blood again, please call Rosella. She is the fastest donor we have,” Sasha’s father ordered coldly..
I huffed at him. “You don’t dare give me orders. And no, Rosella is out of this.”
I was about to walk toward the emergency room when he blocked me, his face dark of
anger.
“I don’t care what position you’re holding, but you are choosing my daughter over that child, alpha. My daughter and nobody else!” His
voice kept rising.
Desmond pushed him away but I chased after him and grabbed his collar.
“Your daughter?” I hissed. “Isn’t she the one who cannot take care of herself until she gives birth? Something so easy to do but she failed because nothing matters to her except demanding from me?”
I had no mercy for Sasha. Maybe he’s doing this because indeed, she’s his child. But that’s my son, he’s asking me to give up. He should also understand that I’m willing to sacrifice anything as long as it’s for my child, unlike what she did.
“My daughter loves you, alpha. That’s why she kept trying to hold on to you even if it means endangering herself,” Sasha’s mother said quietly, as if I should be grateful for that. “Well, your daughter knows what her stand is in this relationship and she agreed to that, so she has no right to want more than that or to ignore what I told her.”
Sasha’s father pushed me hard, his face twisted in anger. “You’re a useless alpha and man. Don’t prove to us that you’re nothing more than a man who locked his wife up after cheating. Be a man now!”
My jaw thicked at that but instead of answering that, I went straight to the emergency room feeling them chasing after me.
“I am Darius de Laro. The father of the child,” I told the nurse who approached me first. “Sir, we need your consent as to whoever you want to save. Usually, we suggest saving the mother and getting pregnant after she recovers
“There was no recovery,” I said coldly, remembering how I once hoped there was still a chance to have a child with Rosella but it never happened. “I want you to save my son-” “No!” Sasha’s father interrupted as he entered inside, followed by his wife. “Choose to save my daughter. Kill the baby and save my daughter!”
Angered by his decision, I was, about to punch him when he spoke again.
“You are not the father of the child!” he blurted out. “Now go and leave this place! Marry whoever your father wants you to marry because you are nothing but a toy he can control. Leave my daughter alone! She’s done with you!”

froze there. Even Desmond was shocked by what he heard. I am not the father? What the fuck?! Sasha’s mother stepped in before I could even ask.
“Sasha was already pregnant when something happened between the two of you. She used her pregnancy to trick you. You can have a DNA test now and see for yourself-” “You’re telling me now that your daughter tricked me? That she betrayed me and fooled the alpha?!” I shouted. “That’s enough to convict her and get her killed!”
They both trembled in fear, stepped back, then slowly nodded.
“Yes. My daughter did that. She loved you so much she wanted you for herself and used her pregnancy. So now, please…” Susan knelt in front of me. “Let my daughter live, let her explain herself. The child isn’t yours. Once you learn about it, you won’t care about the baby so don’t sacrifice my daughter for the child.”
I didn’t know what else to feel after hearing that. When Sasha’s father gave an order to the nurse, she went straight to the doctor and told them. They were preparing to save Sasha instead of the child.
“I’ll have someone investigate this and do the DNA test,” Desmond immediately told me.
He pulled me out and left the couple to be with Sasha’s doctor.
I remained sitting on a bench, stunned. I have no child to begin with. No wife, and now no kid. No heir. I have nothing.
“Your father is asking for updates about the baby. We should run a test to still save him if Sasha’s parents are lying,” Desmond said.
That was the logical thing to do but I shook my head refusing.
We would do all that just to prove whatever Sasha’s parents told me was wrong and lies? Just for my father who never really cared about me?
“Let him be,” I said coldly. “Call the Wilson family and tell them I want an immediate wedding. Just a casual one.”
“Darius…” Desmond’s voice was threatening, as if worried about me.
I looked at him as I stood. I forced a bitter smile. “This is all plain bullshit to me now. I want to put an end to everything. I will accept my father’s request one last time.”
I started walking, painful tears fell from my eyes. Just one last time, I’d be the son het always wants to see. Someone he can control. But after this, I’d choose something for myself.
(End of Darius’s POV)
