Sasha’s POV
Chapter 27
“Sasha! Darling, finally! Alpha signed the divorce papers! Their separation is now official!” my father burst into my room with the exciting news.
He was still wearing his suit, which told me he had just come from the council meeting. Normally, I would not care about whatever he was rushing about earlier, but as soon as I heard it was about Rosella and the divorce, I kept asking over and over what the outcome of the meeting was.
“Really, Dad?” I grinned like a dog showing its teeth and then glanced at Mommy.
My father nodded happily as he showed me photos of the signed papers, both their names. clearly on them.
“Darius did not want to sign at first, but Rosella threatened to kill herself if he tried to trap her again in his life,” Dad explained with great joy.
“Oh God, thank you!” Mommy blurted out.
She raised both hands and waved them in the air like she was praying.
Then she turned to hug me and whispered sweet words.
“Didn’t I tell you? Whatever you want, you will get it if you just wait for the right time,” she whispered to me.
But my mind was elsewhere because something was more important than that divorce. I needed to know if I was really going to marry Darius now that Rosella was out of our way. Because that divorce was useless if what I wanted would not happen.
“What did Darius’s father say? Did he confirm to you that he will remarry?”
My father laughed and immediately cupped my cheeks with both hands and pinched them slightly.
“Of course, Sasha. The most important thing in an alpha’s life is his anchor, and that is his luna. It is never acceptable for an alpha to lead without a wife.”
Even though I didn’t want to smile or celebrate yet, I felt my lips pull back, and a giggle escaped because of how happy I was.
“Then maybe it is right for us to get married before this month ends,” I quickly suggested. “So before I give birth to this child, we will already be married and the baby’s name will legally be his.”
Mom sighed and gave me a meaningful look. I returned it.
“You cannot just rush things. Would it not be better to prepare for the wedding? It should be grand. So many people will know about it and, most importantly, you will not just look like a pregnant woman walking down the aisle.”
My eyes widened at that because I felt so conscious of my physical state right now. I immediately went to the mirror and stared at myself.

I still felt beautiful. Why should I care if I was big now because I was about to give birth? Should I really wait for the perfect timing so I don’t look this huge when I walk down the aisle?
“But Mom, what if he changes his mind and does not marry me after all the waiting and the time wasted?” I asked before facing them. “You know Darius doesn’t really see me as more than the mother of his child, especially after I give birth, right?”
My father immediately frowned at me. “Then we will make sure the wedding happens before you give birth, okay?”
There was only excitement in my heart. Even though four days had passed since Darius stopped visiting me, I didn’t really mind it much.
I was eating delicious food and doing everything to celebrate even if it was alone because finally, even if Darius didn’t want to, he was going to remarry. And surely, there was no other woman but me.
I was already thinking about the wedding theme, what I would wear, when it would be held, and where. Everything was set in my mind and planned out. But then my world crashed when one day I turned on the TV and the news about him appeared.
“News flash: Mr. Darius De Laro is approaching his second marriage with the heiress of Wilson Incorporation. The youngest and also a widower will tie the knot before this month ends. Congratulations to both.”
Then on the screen flashed the face of the man I dreamed to marry and a woman I did not recognize but I was sure it was not me.
“Mom…” I called out, my voice trembling. “Why is Darius marrying someone else… and not
me?”
Mommy came to comfort me when she saw me crying and breaking down because the news was replaying in my mind like it was going to burst out any second.
I began ranting over again about why I was not the woman on the news.
“You told me Darius and I would get married but what the hell is that news?” I shouted angrily and pointed at the TV. I was crying, sobbing loudly like I wanted to scream.
“That woman is trying to take Darius away from me. Why aren’t you doing anything, huh?!” I yelled at her.
“Darling, calm down. Surely they are wrong. They must have mistaken you for someone else–Goodness!” Mom suddenly shrieked as her eyes looked down at my legs.
I felt a sudden coldness as hot liquid started dripping down my legs and pain in my belly.
“Help! My daughter is giving birth! Help us!” Mommy screamed.
But this did not feel like labor. Instead, it felt like something inside me was being pulled
out.
