“There is no way I’m letting my daughter’s hope die down,” said Sasha’s mother, Susan.
She marched her way towards the former alpha’s office. She couldn’t think of any other. way to secure her daughter’s future and grandchild’s future except with the old man’s help.
Although he was the first to dislike Sasha, he was also the one who could help her now because the final decision rested with him.
“May I know you?” asked the assistant in the office.
“Please tell Mr. De Laro that I’m Sasha’s mother. I have something important to inform him.”
wever, the assistant hesitated and didn’t follow her request. Susan sneered at him. “My daughter is carrying the future alpha of this pack. Follow me if you don’t want Darius to be angry when he finds out that you’ve disregarded my words!”
The assistant had no choice but to enter and inform the former alpha, Mr. De Laro, about his unwanted visitor.
Soon, the assistant returned and asked Susan to come in.
She was greeted by opulence and antiques that she knew must have cost a fortune. Then, the old man, who looked at her grimly, sat before her.
“What are you doing here? Speak now and don’t waste my time,” he said coldly.
Even though annoyed by the old man’s treatment, Susan still smiled at him.
“My daughter is pregnant with your son’s child, Mr. De Laro. She’s going to give birth to the future alpha of this pack-
“-not when she’s illegitimate,” he cut her off.
Susan froze at how sharp those words were. But she wasn’t ready to give up.
“But sir, your daughter–in–law decided to leave your son. Did it ever cross your mind why she escaped and didn’t even ask you for permission to divorce the alpha?”
The old man furrowed his brow and his face scrunched up in confusion.
“What do you mean? If your child coveted my son, I would understand Rosella.”
“But did you ever question why your son cheated and decided to impregnate another
woman?”
The old man remained silent but gave Susan a strange look, as if he didn’t want her presence or to hear what she had to say. Fearing he might ignore her, Susan continued speaking.
“Luna Rosella is barren. She won’t be able to give your son an heir,” she said, then dropped the medical records she had illegally obtained from the hospital.
Mr. De Laro took the papers and read them.
“She cannot face you because she’s afraid of your reaction. How could a woman like her,

with a useless womb, be kept beside the alpha who should expect an heir, right?”
The old man didn’t react or speak, but his jaw tightened as if whatever was in front of him. displeased him.
Susan smiled triumphantly because she knew that even though the former alpha didn’t like her daughter Sasha, he wouldn’t be able to cast her out now.
“Please, Mr. De Laro. This is your own flesh and blood, the hope of our pack’s next generation. Would you trade him for a woman who cannot bear a child? She’s more than useless-”
“Enough,” the old man cut her off, his voice cold.
Susan gasped and her chest heaved as the old man gave her a chilling stare. She had no choice but to kneel in front of him.
ease, you can do so much better than ask the alpha to fight for the marriage. She left already. My daughter is here and ready to take up her position. Our grandchild shouldn’t be born out of wedlock, right?”
The old man sighed and cupped his head as if the situation was stressing him out. Susan clasped her hands together in pleading..
“Help your grandson. Alpha Darius will still look for the luna who didn’t value their marriage. He shouldn’t be. Please.”
There was a long pause before the old man finally made a decision.
“I’ll take care of this,” he said, his tone filled with dismay. “You can leave now, and make sure your daughter does not endanger her pregnancy. Or else…”
Before the old man could finish his sentence, Susan was already nodding in agreement. His response was enough. She was sure that the revelation of Luna’s infertility would be a huge factor in his decision. After all, who would want a useless woman in their influential family?
“Thank you, Mr. De Laro,” Susan said, bowing as she left. “You won’t be disappointed in Sasha. She’s everything Darius needs to keep his position.”
When the sound of the door shut was heard by Mr. De Laro, he heaved a sigh of defeat. The old man, left alone, immediately grabbed the phone and called his son.
“Get your ass here, Darius. I want you to explain everything to me,” he ordered.
