Sasha’s POV
“Then we won’t be able to secure that child’s position if there’s no marriage,” Dad immediately said after hearing what I told them.
My mother was speechless. My father stood, pulled out his phone, and stepped outside to call someone.
The moment he was gone, my mom turned to me, eyes sharp.
“This puts you and the baby at risk,” she hissed. “If that Alpha learns the truth, he’ll burn you alive, Sasha. Do you even understand what you’ve done?”
“But that’s the only way I can have him, Mom,” I pouted, crossing my arms. “Besides, he’s
esperate. And tell me, how would he find out, huh?”
I smirked to myself at the thought. No, he wouldn’t find out. He wouldn’t even have the slightest idea. Even when the child grows up, even when years pass, they will never know
the truth.
“Why didn’t you just make it his real child? You could’ve done better!” she snapped, pressing her fingers to her forehead. Her voice cracked as she paced, clearly overwhelmed by the mess I’d made.
My brows furrowed as I watched her.
“Mom, if I waited for that, the plan wouldn’t move forward fast enough. I had to upgrade the strategy. He might slip away from me if I wait too long or find someone else,” I explained. “And besides…”
My gaze
shifted to the window as I remembered the words of the doctor who had handled Luna Rosella’s past pregnancies. The image of the report, the statistics, the low success rates, all of it burned into my mind.
“Lower chance of getting pregnant. Just one percent, and even that’s almost impossible,” I recalled aloud. “But we cannot afford for that one percent to actually succeed. If she gets pregnant while I’m already making my move to destroy their relationship, then my child still needs to be born first. My child must be the one in position. He must be the heir.”
. “But that will only happen if the child is born inside the marriage. If not, obviously, the
legitimate one will still be the rightful Alpha after Darius. That’s the law,” she answered.
Her words hit me hard. I went quiet. She’s divorcing him. Unless Darius fights for their marriage, my baby and I won’t mean anything. What will that make me? Just the mistress, even while carrying his so–called heir.
“Mom…” I whispered, tears rising as the fear sank in.
Even now, I couldn’t accept the idea that that useless woman might come back to the mansion. That she could return and I would once again be reminded that I am nothing. more than second in Darius’s life.
“I want to marry Daríus,” I said softly, my voice breaking as I cried. “I have to own him

completely.”
“Don’t cry, darling. That’s not good for your baby,” she said, softening as she cupped my cheek.
“Mom, please… help me make Darius mine. Help me remove Rosella for good, so my baby. and I can have a secure, peaceful future. I can’t do this alone. Help me.”
If I needed to beg, if I needed to lower myself to get what I wanted, then I would. If I had to use every last trick, every last bit of strength I had left, I would do it. Darius was supposed to be mine all along. I had been by his side through everything. Why did he fall for Rosella instead? If he had only loved me back then, our child would already be older, and I know for sure he never would’ve betrayed me.
“I will do everything, darling. Just don’t let this stress get to you, alright?” she whispered as
ssed my forehead.
That night, Darius didn’t visit me. Not even once. It was only his Beta who came by to check on my condition and deliver updates back to him.
I can’t help but wonder what Darius is doing this entire time. He doesn’t even have a second to visit me? Not even once?
“Where is he?” I asked Beta Desmond on the third day when he arrived to assist with my discharge papers.
“He didn’t tell me. I’m sorry,” he replied coldly.
My jaw clenched tightly. That was a lie. He was Darius’s Beta. If anyone would know where he was, it would be him.
“Why didn’t he come here then? He should be here! This is his son we’re talking about!” I snapped.
He gave me a cold look. “I’m sorry, Miss-
“-soon to be your Luna,” I cut him off. “Soon, I’ll replace Rosella, I know you’re loyal to her, but that won’t last.”
I smirked. He didn’t react at all.
“You like her, don’t you?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at him.
I saw how he paused for a moment as he instructed the men around us. I followed him with my gaze, never looking away.
“You like Rosella, Beta Desmond. You’re lusting after the wife of the Alpha you serve. How
pathetic-”
“Stop saying nonsense,” he snapped, finally losing his composure. His eyes glared at me with fury.
I laughed. That was the reaction I was waiting for. See? He’s not made of stone. So much for acting so controlled and righteous.
I stood and walked toward him.
“I know who helped her escape, Desmond. You like her, so you did it,” I said, voice filled

with amusement. “But don’t worry. I won’t tell Darius. Her disappearance benefited me.”
