Chapter 10
“You plotted everything just to ensure your real son could inherit the Gibson Corporation’s fortune, didn’t you?”
“You used me–pretending to be poor, pretending to be sick–secretly filming me for clicks. and money. That’s why you stopped me from claiming that lottery prize.”
“To ensure your true son had everything, you were even willing to take my life.”
My mother locked eyes with me, her voice low and cold. “How did you find out?”
“I started suspecting something the moment you tried to stop me from redeeming the prize money. Your behavior was off. So I began investigating. Then, by chance, I found a letter my biological mother had left for me. After reading it, everything became clear.”
Suddenly, my mother pulled a dagger from her coat, eyes wild with rage, and lunged at me. “So you know everything now?” she shrieked. “Then go to hell! I won’t let anything threaten my son’s future–not even you!”
She struck, fast and vicious.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked at the face I once called “mother“-now so familiar yet so alien.
“All these years… was there ever even a single moment when you truly saw me as your son?”
Her expression twisted with scorn and disgust. She sneered. “Never! You’re a filthy stray- nothing more. You never deserved anything!”
I stared at her in stunned silence.
At that moment, the last flicker of hope in my heart was extinguished.
I wiped the tears from my face.
Just then, footsteps thundered outside. Police officers burst through the door, rushing in to detain them.
Everything that happened in the hotel room had been captured by surveillance cameras. Every word, every move–recorded in full.
I handed all the evidence to the authorities.
Then I went straight to the lottery center and successfully claimed the five million dollars that rightfully belonged to me.
After that, I focused on treating my leg. With proper care and therapy, I finally recovered- and was able to walk again.
When the truth was made public, everything changed.
The tide of public opinion shifted. The same people who once cursed me now flooded me with apologies.
My father’s social media account was banned, and all his videos were taken down.

Chairman Gibson–my real father–found out the truth. Enraged, he expelled both his secretary–turned–wife and their fake “son” from the Gibson household.
Then, he came in person to bring me home.
And this time, I said yes.
From this day forward, no one would ever take what was rightfully mine.
Later, Apollo asked, “What do you plan to do next?”
I smiled. “Study abroad. Then come back… and take over the family business.”
While overseas, I kept in touch with Apollo from time to time.
From him, I learned the final chapters of those I once called family.
He told me my adoptive parents were convicted of attempted murder and sentenced accordingly.
My adoptive father got into a fight in prison. His head was smashed, and he died from excessive blood loss
My adoptive mother actually developed kidney failure later on–but had no money to treat it. She died slowly, in pain.
As for my younger sister, because her crimes were relatively minor, she was released early. But her school expelled her when they found out what she had done.
Spiraling out of control, she turned to gambling and bad relationships. Eventually, she went into hiding from debt collectors and faded from everyone’s radar.
All of that was now part of the past.
Today, I possess not only a vast fortune–but also a future full of light.
