Chapter 18
POV Melissa
After Kaleo left to get my luggage, after I tried unsuccessfully to contact Unob through the hologram and also tried to open every door I found by pulling really hard, I decide to explore the giant blue guy’s house.
The place isn’t what I expected, super simple, like a little wooden house in the middle of nowhere. It is kind of empty, yes, with animal pelts all over the place, showing that Kaleo is obviously a hunter, but that’s just until I get to the bedroom area.
He has a huge wooden bed with animal pelts and everything, and it’s basically the same as a human one! The difference is that it’s much longer and taller than I’ve seen in movies, which makes sense given his height, and instead of being a rectangle, the bed is more like a square. But that doesn’t matter to me; I’m still amazed.
He has a beautiful square window with colored glass, like a church stained glass window, and it’s locked too. There’s a corner table, a bunch of pillows covered with animal pelts, chests full of his clothes, and there’s even a little room next to the main bedroom with more soft, rustic, and warm cushions.
I sit on the bed with difficulty, having to use the table next to it for support, climbing on it first. But when I manage to lie down on the mattress, I can smell Kaleo’s scent clearly. It’s masculine and warm, but also reminds me of what I saw outside this place, the trees, the vastness of nature. But thinking about the alien makes my stomach churn, so I quickly get off his bed and go explore the other three rooms in this cabin.
This thing of him breathing fire is making me so nervous that I’m starting to lose my mind.
In the other rooms, he just has a mattress thrown on the floor covered with pelts, no bed or many pieces of furniture, which proves he definitely lives alone and only bothered to fix the room he uses the most
What must be almost an hour after the start of my exploration, I hear a door opening, so I rush toward the noise holding the hologram and see Kaleo entering with my two pink

suitcases, which were huge in my hands, and in his, they look almost like toys.
“Are these all your things?” he asks, and I nod, trying hard not to let my eyes trace his body. The guy is still only wearing a pair of black pants and boots made of dark animal fur. “So everything is here, I recovered it in the village from some males.”
He places the pink suitcases closer to me. They’re very similar to what humans have on Earth, square with wheels, but with technology that allows them to hold a lot.
“Do they already know I’m here then?”
“Surely the news will spread far, but it’s not time for you to meet anyone yet, not until your clothes are ready.”
“What clothes?” I ask as he closes the door to the room and presses a button high up on
- it.
It’s definitely not the inhabitants of this planet who developed that button that locks all the doors or this invisible heating system all around the house, because this technology doesn’t resemble the other things they use. The temperature doesn’t seem to be even close to 20°C, but it’s already great.
I just have to find out who designed it and how it got here, so I can get out of here.
“I ordered cold–weather clothes for you so you can leave the house and get to know Selvaria,” he reveals, not stopping to stare at me, with his thick, wavy black hair falling over his shoulders in a mesmerizing way. It’s like a shampoo commercial all the time with
Kaleo.
I never liked being stared at like this, not without my cat mask, which I left behind. People always told me I had a very expressive face, but with the mask, I could hide it, hide my thoughts, my blush.
But now… those unsettling red eyes, with long, straight dark lashes, don’t stop reading every little shock and thought of mine. It’s as if he can look into my head, and that’s not
comfortable at all.
“How are you going to make clothes in my size?”
“I’ve watched you enough to know your size…” he murmurs, his voice rougher than usual,

confirming my fears.
Those red eyes are really paying too much attention to me, and it makes me swallow dryly, only to hear Kaleo’s purring sound again, and if it works exactly like a cat’s purring, then he only does that when he feels content, which makes my face heat up, and I quickly
look away.
“Do you think this… person will know how to make clothes for me? Clothes for someone my height?” When I had hair, at least I could hide behind it, but now it’s just my round face on display.
“I’m a big male, even for an Azuri, the others are shorter, and there are small females here. Not as small as you, but much smaller than me.” Again, I hear the pride in his voice for real, and the almost boredom in the voice of the hologram, and at the end of his
explanation, his purring just gets stronger.
And of course, I can’t resist, so when I follow the path of his gaze, I realize that Kaleo’s attention is fixed on my hard nipples, visible through my shirt, which makes me choke on my own saliva and start coughing.
Didn’t anyone teach this guy not to stare like that?!
“It’s getting late, little wife, I will feed you again and then… we will sleep in our room,” he says, and I can barely stop coughing, needing a few seconds to catch my breath, taking a few steps back.
Kaleo has something very magnetic about him, something that pulls me toward him. Right now, I want to get closer, not further away, to investigate that incredible smell he gives off. This more animal than human side of Kaleo surprises and attracts me, and it’s
so… hot.
This place is way too cold, and Kaleo makes me sweat.
But I can’t get out of my head, not for a second, that I need to leave here, especially because he thinks I’m going to be his “little wife” without even knowing him, and stay forever.
This guy definitely has expectations completely opposite to mine, different traditions and customs, and if I give in to this quick attraction, I doubt he’ll let me leave later, especially involving money.

“You have several rooms, I’ll take one of them, I’m not sleeping with you,” I grumble, and his purring continues, making me even more nervous.
No human could buy clothes that would fit me just by looking at me, because most people don’t pay attention to anything. But he does.
This guy must be really crazy to want a mate, and he’s going to give me more trouble than I’d like. He won’t let go of the bone so easily.
“In the other rooms, there’s no bed, and you’re my female, we should share a room,” he says, and my heart races even more, but before I can respond, Kaleo takes a step toward me, with his hand outstretched, and I shrink back in fear, so he stops before reaching me.
“Does your head hurt? I see wounds.”
His purring stops abruptly, and I feel like not answering. I don’t like talking about it, I don’t even like people looking at the spots on my head, but since he’s literally looking at me without my wig now, there’s no reason to hide.
I bet they must be reddish now, because they turn like that when they hurt.
“It hurts, but I’ve gotten used to it.” I shrug.
My luck is that he found my suitcases, and I have two more wigs in them, one of them is even exactly like the one I left at the place where I had that hot water. It goes down to my waist, it’s dark brown and straight, with a few waves, just like my hair was before it all fell
out.
“I have something to put on your head that should help. When I was younger, I would burn my brothers by accident all the time, and my mother used an Azuri balm. It heals
wounds like this.”
I think his revelation should calm me, but it just makes me more nervous.
“It’s not a fire wound.”
“What is it then?”
“It was an accident with a liquid that…” I wonder if I should say more, but since he’s literally staring at me without my wig, there’s no reason to hide. “It made all my hair fall
