Chapter 78
The night remained eerily quiet. Nicholas stood beside the motorcycle, pointing up at a spot in the sky. “See over there? That’s Leo, and not far fromnis is Orion.
Sharon obediently locked up, following his gesture. It seemed to make sense.
“But all i see is the Big Dipper. Where’s Orion?” A girl suddenly approached, standing next to Nicholas. She looked innocent. “Sir, you seem to know a lot. Are you really into stargazing?”
Both Nicholas and Sharon turned to look, and he situation became awkward for a moment.
She didn’t seem to mind and continued, “Why are you guys looking at me? I just think it’s amazing to know so much about constellations. I’d love to learn too. You guys wouldn’t mind, right?”
Sharon raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything. Nicholas spoke coldly, “We do.” The awkwardness intensified.
Her face fell a little. “I just wanted to talk to someone. After what happened earlier, I’m kind of scared to be alone.”
Sharon glanced at the other girl sitting nearby and sneered, “Isn’t your friend right there?”
“She’s tired and wants to rest, so I had to come over. Your boyfriend was really amazing just now, taking on so many guys. He’s even cooler than the male leads in TV dramas. My dream guy has always been someone like him–someone who can protect me from bullies.”
Boyfriend? Nicholas’s expression softened a bit. The annoying girl might not be the brightest, but at least she had decent taste.
Sharon’s expression turned a bit odd. ‘So she wants to compete with me for a man? That’s interesting. It’s been years since I last encountered this, she thought.
The girl noticed Sharon’s expression and quickly explained, “Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t mean anything by it. Your boyfriend is my ideal type, but that’s all. I’m just really grateful he saved us. To me, he was like a savior, even if it was just a random act of kindness.”
Her speech was dramatic and full of emotion. Sharon slowly spoke, “Are you in the drama club?”
“No, I study dance,” the girl replied, stealing glances at Nicholas. Her eyes sparkled like stars, and her voice dropped a few notches. “Sir, could you teach
me?”
Nicholas turned sideways. The girl put on her most charming and cute act, a move that usually worked on any guy. But Nicholas had never been interested in girls. His gaze was cold. “No.”
The girl’s face fell. “Why? I know it’s a bit of a hassle, but I could just listen in while you talk to your girlfriend. You don’t have to give me any extra time.” She sounded pitiful and helpless.
“It’s not happening. I don’t like strangers around,” Nicholas said flatly.
Sharon almost laughed out loud. “Aren’t you going to feel bad about rejecting such a cute girl?”
The girl’s eyes lit up. ‘Is he going to feel bad? I’m practically offering myself up,‘ she thought.
Nicholas looked at Sharon seriously. “She’s not as cute as you.”
Sharon turned to the girl. “Sorry, but you’re not as cute as me.”
The girl was almost speechless with frustration. She still hung around, though. ‘Why isn’t this working? It shouldn’t be like this,‘ she thought.
Nicholas frowned at her, and the girl thought she still had a chance. Nicholas’s thin lips curled into a cold smile. “Get lost.”
Her face changed instantly, and she ran off, scared. ‘He’s terrifying. Why is he so mean to a girl? Maybe I did something wrong. How could any guy not fall

for this? This is really strange, she thought.
The other girl sighed, “I told you not to bother.”
Those two clearly weren’t ordinary people. Their auras were different, and their fighting skills were way above average. They were nothing like the college students they usually hung out with. No guy would fall for that.
The girl who got rejected didn’t say anything more. She just felt a bit unwilling to give up.
Finally, she left, and it was quiet again. Nicholas felt like he’d had bad luck today. People kept interrupting his alone time with Sharon.
“Don’t you think that girl was kind of pitiful?” Sharon said.
“She brought it on herself. I never feel sorry for people like that,” Nicholas replied.
“Why did you refuse to teach her?” Sharon asked.
Nicholas looked puzzled. “Why would I waste my time teaching a stranger?” He couldn’t understand the question.
Sharon nodded slowly. “You’re right.”
After a few questions, she realized Nicholas had quite a few good qualities. His behavior toward that annoying girl was a total rejection, something rare in a loyal guy like him.
The sweet stargazing moment was gone. They looked at the distant city lights, which were beautiful.
Sharon suddenly spoke up. “Actually, the light show at the Race of Champions was pretty cool.” As soon as she said it, she regretted bringing it up.
“Yeah, it was nice. Did you go that day because you liked a particular racer?” Nicholas asked.
“Yeah.” Sharon nodded a little awkwardly. “What about you? Were you there for a favorite racer too?”
“Yep,” Nicholas said.
There was a pause as they looked at each other, and then they spoke at the same time. “Who’s your favorite racer?”
“Niko.”
“Solar Flare.”
They answered in unison, but their choices were different. Sharon liked Niko, while Nicholas liked Solar Flare. They both paused for a moment.
