Chapter 77
The sudden turn of events left everyone stunned, including the men lying on the ground. They had thought they could turn the tables, but they hado expected the girl to be so fierce. It was bizarre.
They exchanged glances. “Should we get up?”
“Do we even need to?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Neither do 1.”
They decided it was better to stay down. In life, one either got back up where one fell or stayed down where one fell. The wise knew when to yield.
Nicholas glanced at the men pretending to be unconscious on the ground and sneered. “All of you, get lost.”
No one moved. He stomped on one of their hands. “Can’t hear me?”
“Right now,” one of them mumbled.
“Sir, we’re leaving right away,” they scrambled to their feet and ran down the hill, disappearing in no time.
Nicholas’s foul mood finally improved a bit. At least those annoying guys were gone.
As he was about to go over to Sharon, the two girls ran up to him, their faces filled with excitement. “Sir, thank you so much,” they said.
“They’re just a bunch of thugs. My friend and I were planning to camp up here, but we ran into them and things went south. They were forcing us to do things we didn’t want to do,” a girl said.
“We don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t shown up. It was terrifying,” another one chimed in.
They explained, tears streaming down their faces.
But they didn’t hear any words of comfort from Nicholas. They looked up at him, puzzled. His face was cold and even a bit annoyed. They hadn’t done anything to provoke him.
Nicholas was thinking to himself, ‘Here come two more troublemakers, and they’re girls. So annoying.’
One of the girls spoke up boldly. “Sir, could you possibly give us a ride back? It’s so dark, and we’re too scared to walk alone.”
“You came here alone to camp, and you’re this weak?” Nicholas mocked.
The girls‘ expressions froze for a moment before they explained, “We’ve camped alone before. We just had bad luck this time.”
“It’s not bad luck. You’re just incompetent. It has nothing to do with luck,” Nicholas said bluntly, showing no regard for their feelings.

One of the girls forced a smile. “We know we were wrong. We know you’re just looking out for us.”
“Why would I care about you? Who do you think you are?” Nicholas’s face remained cold.
The girls finally couldn’t keep their smiles. ‘How rude. He looked so cool when he was fighting, but now he’s being so harsh and inconsiderate. No matter how good–looking he is, that ruins his charm,‘ they thought.
Nicholas turned around and walked over to Sharon, his tone much softer. “Were you scared just now?”
“No, I wasn’t. I’m not afraid when you’re around.” Sharon smiled sweetly, looking up at him adoringly.

Nicholas slowly took out his phone from his suit and called the police to come and pick up the two girls, Sharon felt a flicker of amusers in harsh words, Nicholas was still a good person at heart.
The two girls watched the whole scene unfold. They couldn’t believe that the man who had been so rude just moments ago was now being so gaonta with that girl. His voice was even pleasant to listen to.
One of the girls whispered, “He’s actually a good person, and he’s so handsome.”
“So what? He’s only nice to his girlfriend,” the other girl said. They had come together, dressed nicely, and it was late at night. She was convinced they wére a couple.
“Not necessarily. Maybe they’re just friends,” dhe girl suggested.
“Come on, don’t be naive. They’re obviously a couple. Don’t even try with him. Besides, he did save us,” her friend scoffed.
“I never said I was going to do anything. Besides, if he could be taken away, it means their relationship isn’t that strong,” the other girl said, her eyes gleaming with a sense of challenge. The more difficult it was, the more she wanted to pursue it.
